The Cactus Blossoms

Dress: Dolce Vita Dress in Geranium Print by Effie's Heart (size 4x) via Gwynnie Bee's Try Then Buy
Teggings: Re/Dress
Sandals: Born
Earring & Bracelet: Wendy Baker
Flower Necklace: Gift from Girls of GB gift exchange
Necklace: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
It feels like I've worn this dress more times than I've taken photos in it...a few times every spring/summer for sure. I last wore this dress on the blog in Chicago over 2 1/2 years ago. It's another great Effie's Heart dress, even though this isn't my favorite style of theirs. The colors are lovely on me & the fit is spot on.
I forgot to pull my dress down in back...my butt shelf is eating my outfit. I wasn't even aware of how bad my sunburn was on my back. I took the dogs to the dog park the day we took these photos & I slathered my neck with the sunblock, but not further down.
Pretty greens & oranges...
My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Electric Empire, UD Born to Run palette, Blood Orange lipstick from Bite Beauty, & OPI nail polish in Tempura-ture is Rising!
10 Shitty Years! I got this special poster for donating to The Shitty Barn's roof fund...I'm going to frame it & hang it on the music side of our rec/wreck room.
The Cactus Blossoms were fantastic...Americana... 2 brothers harmonizing...with lots of guitars.
Indian buffet with David...he really cleans his plate. Sadly, I am the opposite...why did I take all this food?! Oh, this is better than that...I'm not going to eat all of that so I can eat more of this. Also, more LuLaRoe leggings from eBay to add to my growing collection. Olive in the doggie pool at the dog park...where I wore a different dress that I got the sunburn in.
Most recent house project...the dining room & living room...the last rooms to be remodeled upstairs. We have been gathering antique tin for the last few years...now it is going up on our ceiling. Each pattern is painted a different color...those decorative white bits are going around the lights on the ceiling & are now painted gold. I am loving our house more & more each day!

Foxwarren // Hannah Cohen

Dress: Mouette Print Beachcomber Dress by Effie's Heart (size 3/4x) via GB Resellers
Teggings: Re/Dress
Sandals: Born, thrifted
Earring: etXarte
Necklace: Wendy Baker
Bracelets: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
When GB got this dress, I didn't even put it in my closet...which is rare for me for Effie's Heart dresses...but I wasn't really into a seagull dress in patriotic colors. However, when the GB resellers offered it up...I nabbed it...because EH & summer = happiness. I adored it, with the exception of the oversize armholes, which is not typically a problem for this brand.
Look at this adorable red thing...we thought it might be a vintage fire hydrant, but in looking around online...I think it's a post indicator valve that could turn off/on the building's sprinkler system from outside.
I wore this outfit several times during 4th of July weekend...embracing the red, white, & blue.
My make-up with this outfit included...NYX eyeliner in Deep Blue, Love + eyeshadow from Sugarpill Cosmetics, Kat von D eyeshadow in Skulls & Rewind, NYX Cream Lipstick in Kitten Heels, and Pretty & Privileged nail polish by OPI.
On Independence Eve, I traveled to The Shitty Barn to see Foxwarren with Hannah Cohen opening.
4th of July fell on a Thursday this year, the evening we typically spend with Freddie & Angie...Toby had the day off, so we brought over steak & asparagus from farmers' market & Angie made her amazing potato salad & some magical drink she concocted from fennel frond syrup...the fronds we always throw away...it was delightful & tasted like absinth.
On Saturday...Kate & I went to the downtown market...the street musicians are one of my favorite bits of that...marimba & accordion players. Also, David & I picked out the colors for our driveway.

Elkhorn Vintage Flea Market

Dress: Long Sleeve Medley Gabrielle Dress by Leota (size 4L) via Gwynnie Bee
Leggings: Roamans, thrifted
Sandals: Born, thrifted
Earring: Wendy Baker
Necklace: A Luscious Thing
Bracelets: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
A dress of mixed patterns...send to me please. The reality wasn't as fabulous as I imagined however...also, a winter dress in summer. The fit was fine, although I didn't understand the mandarin collar that had its own ideas about how it wanted to lay.
I would have had more fun with this in a cooler month...I could have added a black & white polka dot cardigan & dotty shoes.
Miami Vice eyeshadow...
My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Abyss; Violet Voss eyeshadow in Tidal Wave; Lime Crime eyeshadow in Blue Sky, Twonicorn, & Rose Burst; UD lipliner & lipstick in Big Bang; & OPI nail polish in Blue My Mind & I Sea You Wear OPI.
I first wore this outfit to farmers' market & errand with the girlie, followed by work on a Saturday. Avocado leggings!!! And new make-up from Ulta's sale.
I also wore this outfit the next day to treasure hunt with David at the Elkhorn Antique Flea...so many pretties. I bought that orange Fleur de Lis because it reminded me of Shane...as did the planter heads.
We love this ceiling tin guy...we've bought so much tin from him, but now that we're into our project...we need more...& Elkhorn skips July, so there isn't another market until August. David loaded up the truck with some heavy outdoor chairs & a stunning mirror we brought home.
A bit of vintage costume jewelry that also came home with us...

Them Coulee Boys // Wasted Wine

Dress: Fruit Print Fit & Flare Dress by Eva Rose (size 4x) via Gwynnie Bee
Teggings: Re/Dress
Sandals: Nurture, thrifted
All Jewelry: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo, Kate, Jason, & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
Super adorable fruit dress...I want all the fruit & veggie dresses, please. I would have bought this one if I didn't already own several. That I've never worn. None of them. Ever. These slightly stretchy cotton dresses from Eva Rose are lovely & my replacement for Cherry Velvet, which stopped making size 4x. I prefer the more substantial material Eva Rose uses compared to the thinner quilting cotton used by Cherry Velvet...but I miss the banded empire waist of the CV Brigitte Dress.
Pockets.
I think I found all of this vintage jewelry at Elkhorn Antique Flea over the years...
My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Overdrive, Violet Voss eyeshadow in Pineapple, Flamepoint & Buttercupcake eyeshadow from Sugarpill Cosmetics, Habanero lipstick by MAC, & OPI nail polish in Atomic Orange.
I first wore this outfit to work, then to see Them Coulee Boys with Kate & Jason. Jason scored us a table up front & the girlie fetched food from Naf Naf & we had a lovely picnic outside by the lake.
 Cute, cute, cute...
Them Coulee Boys...this space soon filled up with kids & their parents dancing. It was mostly adorable.
I wore this outfit again on Sunday to attend our wine tasting group, Wasted...where the theme was white wines from Spain & Portugal. Kate brought a lovely Cava that was my favorite. I like bubbles.
Lindsey & Patrick hosted & made the most delicious Chicken Marbella from the Silver Palette cookbook served with Yotam Ottolenghi's Couscous, Cherry Tomato, & Herb Salad. Also, someone brought watermelon cubed up with mint...& it was divine...I'm not normally a fan of mint, but this was perfect summer fare. To top it all off...a couple brought their dog named Ziggy...good food, good wine, & a cute dog all while sitting beside the two people you adore the most...perfect.

Aaron Lee Tasjan // Christopher Gold & The New Old Things

Dress: Theresa Dress in Kaleidoscope Print by Effie's Heart (size 3x) via GB resellers
Teggings: Re/Dress
Sandals: Born, thrifted
Earring & Carnival Necklace: Former Etsy seller
Necklace & Bracelets: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo, Kate, & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
Oh, Effie's Heart...how I adore you in summer...so cute, so comfy...this true wrap dress in 3x is a great fit, better than the 4x in this style. I last wore this dress with burgundy teggings in the fall. I also own this style of dress in a trolley print. I wouldn't change a thing about this dress...multicolor perfection.
I wore these same sandals the previous time I wore this dress, but everything else is different...it always surprises me to see how I styled things differently or the same...I don't actually remember until I look it up. I have a slight preference for the burgundy look.
This was my first time trying NYX foundation, Can't Stop, Won't Stop. I bought 3 different shades...this is the lightest of those, Alabaster. I think this color will be a good choice for me in the long cold winter months when I'm as pale as I get. Like nearly all NYX products, I'm smitten with this one...I can't tell the difference between this & the expensive foundations I typically use (Make Up Forever & Urban Decay)...& all 3 together were cheaper than one bottle of those. The only thing I don't like is that the pump gets clogged every time & I have to be careful not to squirt foundation all over myself.
My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Deep End; Rewind, Fran, & Legend eyeshadow by Kat von D; NYX foundation; MAC lipstick in Dubonnet Amplified & "O"; & Teal the Cows Come Home nail polish from OPI.
New LuLaRoe leggings from eBay...
I wore this outfit to go to The Shitty Barn with Kate & drink Rosé...
And munch on tacos. I don't remember much about the opening band...except they were not as metal as the guitarist closest to me would suggest.
Aaron Lee Tasjan was a fantastic performer & the weirdest person I've ever seen at The Barn. His suit was fabulous.
