Elizabeth Moen // Thrifting

Dress: Keyhole Dress in Lime by Lands End (size M)
Sandals: Dansko
All Jewelry: Vintage
5'7" 38-32-42

I first wore this dress (below) back in 2014 when I got it from Gwynnie Bee. I was lucky to find this & the matching cardigan on Poshmark in my size. It's such a cute summer dress. Great fit & length...easy to throw on.

I will always appreciate companies that make their clothing in a wide variety of sizes...because everyone deserves to have choices.

I think I liked the way I styled it here better...although that Wendy bubble jewelry was also a good choice.
This was my first time wearing this necklace/earring set we picked up at Elkhorn. I like the turquoise element they & my accessories bring to the outfit.
I first wore this dress back in August to work & to pick up these hats my haberdasher made for me. Aren't they lovely? Then, of course, after work thrifting.
I didn't find much that day. Back at home...admiring my sun hats.
Our subscription box from Burlap & Barrel...I'm so glad David discovered them...their spices are better than Penzey's. And, oh my! New to me shoes! A reason to look forward to the colder months when my toes get covered up.
Another day wearing this dress...testing my testosterone levels. And then on to a fun appointment...a consultation with Mar. I want them to free hand falling leaves on the free areas of my left calf & cute paisley patterns on my right.
Red Clover is right across from where they make Level 5 doughnuts & on this day, there was a table filled with doughnuts with a sign that said free...this was butter cookie. It was fine...but I don't get what people are raving about. Dinner before doughnut...the usual. Then it was on to a lymphatic massage on my way to...
The Shitty Barn! Elizabeth Moen was not someone I'd heard of until the barn booked her. It was a slightly chilly day in September, so here I am wearing the matching cardigan over the dress.
Even though I'd eaten dinner...I couldn't resist trying one of their hand pies...this was pork & cabbage...& of course, one of their delightful butter chocolate chip cookies...all eaten by the fire.
Elizabeth Moen & her band were fabulous...I sit so close I had to take a weird zoomed out photo to fit them all in. I came home with signed vinyl...it was a good night.
Back at home...my Ulta order with 9 eyebrow pencils arrived...they were having a buy 2 get 1 free sale...I'll probably use these up by the end of the year. Another day in this dress...I fetched Kate & we drove down to Chicago for the weekend.
I also wore this a final time on our drive home on Monday...where after dropping Kate off...I immediately went to work for my first appointment at noon. Then...I hit up at Goodwill on my way home.

This was the east side one, it had been several months since I'd been there...so there were a lot of things to try on. A jean jacket?! Who am I ???I have a fantasy life where I wear suit coats to work...perhaps that's what I'll do during these autumn/winter months...I'm always cold. Why didn't I get that earth toned paisley sweater?! It must have been pilled or had a hole. Back at home...this multi colored leopard print dress arrived from Poshmark...someone either in the Flumunity or COTD posted an outfit wearing this dress...& I needed it.And shoes...Fluevogs were also waiting for me, found on the Fluemarket. I am always grateful when someone lets their beauties go to new homes. So, I got that jean jacket I tried on above...it was a made in the USA brand I'd never heard of, AG...I looked it up & they still have this same jacket available on their website...for $215.  I paid $6...also, 4 of the things I got were 1/2 off during their tag sale. What I got...& 2 shirts for David. After popping the tags off & getting a load of laundry going...I headed out for a sunset walk. We had walked 5 miles every day we were in Chicago...& it felt good...it's just so time consuming.

Work & Thrifting, Again

Dress: Polka Dot Fit & Flare Dress by Lands End (size M), thrifted
Teggings: former Re/Dress
Sandals: Franco Sarto, thrifted
Earrings & Bracelets: Vintage
Stats: 5'7" 38-32-42
I just love polka dots...& this dress has 2 different sizes + stripes...yes! Great fit in this comfy summer stretch cotton dress...ideal for work.
I first wore this dress back in May, then again last month. Pairing bracelets with it was too much fun as I couldn't decide...so I just wore them all.
And these oversize earrings from Elkhorn...I'm obsessed with getting other colors now. Sometimes I don't want long dangling earrings.
My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Zero; Clinique black liquid liner; Strange, Burnout, & Darkside eyeshadow by UD; UD lipliner in 714; Russian Red lipstick by MAC; & OPI nail polish in Red Heads Ahead.
Trying on clothes back in May at the Middleton Goodwill...martini dress!
Pants! Those will be worn this fall for sure. The teal lace dress had this note pinned to it, never worn needs to be rehomed.
I have quite a collection of winter coats accumulating in my closet...but I needed this b&w houndstooth as I have nothing like it. And I *do* live in Wisconsin so I have many opportunities to wear coats.
I wore this dress again last month to pick up my fixed glasses from Ulla (one of the lenses got scratched)...while I was waiting for them to pop the lens in...I wandered around Anthropologie. I could spend $1000s of $$ every time I walk in there. If money were unlimited I would have purchased that fruit skirt, mixed pattern dress (on sale, but the wrong size)...Those plaid pants (they are quite similar to the ones I got for $4 at Goodwill above, yes?) & dotty pants. I just can't pay full price there...it's too outrageous. That orange poufy dress was on clearance for $25...the small was too small, but even if it were available in a medium I don't think I'd be tempted. I had to try it on though. Eastside farmers' market...& getting dressed in thrifted workout clothes the next morning to go to the gym.

Cooking, Thrifting, & Closet Cleaning Continues

Dress: Paradise Pop Rosemary Fit & Flare Midi Dress by Leota (size L) via Gwynnie Bee
Cardigan: Lands' End (size M), thrifted
Tights: Snag
Shoes: Me Too, thrifted
Earring: etXarte
Necklace & Bracelets: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 38-32-45
I loved all the bright bits of color in this tropical dress. Great fit & length. It's sleeveless, so this could be worn year round. Good dress for work & errands.
I'm building up my cardigan collection & loved that I had a patterned one to go with this dress rather than a more boring solid. Pattern mixing makes me happy...I may have mentioned that before.
This is my first time wearing this Bakelite necklace we found at Elkhorn this past season. I've got my cardigan tucked under all my undergarments I'm still wearing after surgery...camisole, sports bra, & faja...it's been a great way to hide all the straps.
My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Zero; Legend, Vinyl, & Vox eyeshadow from Kat von D; UD lipliner & lipstick in Big Bang; Cranberry lipstick by Bite Beauty; & OPI nail polish in What Wizardry Is This?
Oh, Christmas tree. My friend, Martha, came over to visit (I actually wore the blue firefly dress, but...) & brought me some magazines (most I'd never even heard of!) & a couple of books. So nice. After she left...I sat & enjoyed the fire & explored the magazines.
I needed 2 heads of cauliflower for a recipe...as the cashier rang them up I happened to notice one was just under $20...um, I think that's a mistake...& he was like, nope...that's the price. I guess I'm used to farmers' market prices where those might have been $2-7, depending on the vendor. I should have asked to have them taken off & purchased elsewhere...but it seemed like too much work to go somewhere else. Next time though. Dinner...Thai-Style Sweet & Salty Shrimp, served with Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Kimchi & Bacon.  We (David) seem to have become addicted to unusual spices & blends...so we are trying to create more storage space for them. David had the idea of using these grape metal pieces from a spiral staircase we bought to make shelves along the side of the freezer...I think I like it. Poor Violet has a rough time with walking in the neighborhood this time of year because of all the salt...she's not a big fan of booties though...no dog we've ever had can keep these on their feet.
Dinner: Chicken M'Hammer, served with a Roasted Cauliflower, Hazelnut, & Pomegranate Seed Salad. More storage solutions from Super Boo...he's going to make that concrete area at the bottom of the steps into a pantry. David & I take our vehicles through the carwash most days...& we send each other photos...it's something I started & it makes me smile. I saw this orange vintage blouse on a trip to Vinny's & nearly bought it...but I feel this would look best with pants & I'm just not that person.
More cardigans for my collection...there was an adorable Talbots one with pears all over (blue & green one in the photo), but it was too pilled for me. Fluevog sale boots...these came with regular laces as well as velvet...I like them both & can't decide. Simple dinner...salmon & butternut squash.
A week after being released from the hospital...drain check. My output was way below what they needed to be to remove them...yet they made me keep them in. Buying Marsala to make Chicken Marsala. MAK cardigan seen out in the wild at Goodwill...it was in terrible shape. And Chicken Marsala (any decent wine would have been fine), served with Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Pistachios & Cipollini Onions.
5 more bags of clothes to donate. This is not going as badly as I feared...but also, I haven't touched the dresses yet. An appointment to talk with my plastic surgeon about the chin lift he did for me back in April that I'm not happy with. David got me a purple ukulele!!!
3 cardigans found on my trip to Goodwill...I usually stick to Vinny's, but I will pop into this Goodwill on a regular basis because it's next to our local co-op. Pretty snow on our mums. I apparently liked this carwash photo so much I included it twice. And...Walleye with roasted sweet potatoes with a horseradish dipping sauce. I've been "breading" my fish with pork rinds that I whir up in the food processor & it is far tastier AND low carb.
I love Gayle's necklace designs over at Green Goddess Vintage. She was having a sale...so...more pretties acquired.

Steve Earle // Final Fire of The Year

Dress: Floral Banded Waist Midi Dress by Taylor Dresses (size 18) via Gwynnie Bee
Cardigan: Lands End
Tights: Snag
Shoes: Me Too, thrifted
Earring: Wendy Baker
Necklace: JaelDesigns
Bracelet: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 45-42-59
The earth tone colors in this dress were totally me...sadly, this dress was about 2 sizes too big for me...but I think I made it work with the cardigan giving it some shape. I hate that everything in my closet is now too big on me. Thank goodness for GB & Nuuly.
Since all my cardigans are huge on me...I have to tie them, which gives a decent shape from the front, but not so much the side. I'd like to crop them all & take them in...but that seems like a lot of work just for this winter.
Leopard is a neutral...I thought it looked smashing with this dress.
My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Roach; Flyby, Golden, & Sting eyeshadow by UD; Roach lipliner from UD; MAC lipstick in Fresh Moroccan; & OPI nail polish in Tulsa Tootsie Roll-a.
I first wore this dress to see Steve Earle at The Stoughton Opera House...I had the entire row to myself...again.
Florence Dore opened...I'd never heard of her before & she was great. Then...Steve Earle...& the music was magical & the reason I go to see live music. Enthralled.
I also wore this outfit to go to farmers' market with David. Pretty vintage button earring from EtXarte (Teri).
Sephora was having a sale...& this was the first make-up I've bought from them all year...I've stuck to my no new make-up unless it's a necessity rule...because I have TOO much. An everyday foundation & something new I'm trying out...a tinted moisturizer for days I don't really want to wear much make-up. I accidentally boob dialed Brian...hi, Brian! The final fire of the year...Kate, Jason, & Rye.
David made chicken fajitas over the fire & they were delicious.
Freddie! If David wasn't right there he would repeat...Dave, Dave, Dave...until he was. And when David went into the house for something...Freddie stood at the back door yelling...Daaaaaaavvve over & over. It was adorable. Also adorable...Jason & Kate (wearing a fox dress).
Selfie with ash in my hair. Freddie roasting a hotdog over the flames & David grilling some shrimp.
It was a lovely evening with friends around a beautiful warm fire.
