Pretty in Pink...Isn't She...

Dress: Rose Cluster Dress in Pink by London Times (size 24) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month free & help me earn GB credit)
Cardigan: ?, thrifted
Teggings: Re/Dress
Sandals: Array, thrifted
Earring: etXarte
Necklace: Wendy Baker
Bracelet: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
This dress has a great weight to it that makes it wearable all year round. Here I am still wearing sandals back in October...we've had such a marvelous autumn. Completely lovely dress with a great square neckline that would be conservative enough for work, but also fun at a party. Such pretty colors...with unexpected bursts of my favorite color...orange!
I didn't realize how sloppy this cardigan looked until I saw these photos. I have 2 of these...thanks to thrifting...I think I'll try cropping one of them & tapering the sleeves to see if it helps.
I like it better without the sweater...
A terribly blustery day...most of our pictures turned out like this...
Wine tasting in the 'hood at Table Wine with David & the girlie.
I love their wine flavors & aromas chalk board.
My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Zero; Sephora eyeliner in Brown; Kat von D eyeshadow in Love, Swoon, Rewind, & Anthem; NYX Lip Palette in The Plums; UD lipstick in Menace; & You're A Pisa Work nail polish by OPI.

Louis C.K. & Pumpkin Carving

Dress: Wishful Wrap Dress in Leopard Print by Kiyonna (size 4x) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month free & help me earn GB credit)
Cardigan: ?, thrifted
Shoes: ?, thrifted
Earring: etXarte
Necklace & Bracelet: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
I wore this ensemble to see Louis C.K. with David...& then a few days later to carve pumpkins at Angie & Toby's. Sexy bombshell wrap with peek-a-boob cleavage...I could have easily buttoned up a few more buttons to make this work appropriate...then va-va-voom after hours. As much as I liked the idea of the black fabric on top...it was slightly too big & flopped about, especially when I was sitting down...but the cardigan hid most of that.
Typically I like to pair leopard with red...sometimes yellow...but I don't think I've ever gone with orange before...how odd...it seems like such a natural & it being my favorite color & all...
This cardigan has been getting a lot of wear this autumn...such gorgeous colors.
At least a decade ago I got rid of all my CDs...I finally got around to the DVDs...everything is on the computer & they just take up so much space. This is kind of a big deal since I hate to part with any of my things. Burgers & sweet potato fries at Alchemy.
Louis C.K.! with David. We love him. There aren't very many comedians that can make me laugh like he does. If you are also a fan & haven't done so yet...check out his dramedy, Horace & Pete...it's the best dysfunctional family tv I've ever seen.
Farmers' market, fall edition.
Pumpkin carving with Val...isn't she adorable?! Angie made a delicious fall feast & we all created spooky pumpkin fiends.
They were so pretty all together.
My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Zero, Kat von D Tattoo eyeliner in Trooper, KvD Metallic eyeliner in Ludwig, KvD eyeshadow in Analogue, Too Faced eyeshadow in Showgirl, Covet & Tangerine lipstick by NYX, Bite Beauty lipstick in Mimosa, & Red Hot Holiday nail polish by OPI.

Modern Paisley

Dress: Knot Front Dress in Modern Paisley by Lucie Lu (size 5x) via Gwynnie Bee- Try Then Buy
Kimono: Kimono in Sketch Wave Border by Citron (size 3x) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month free & help me earn GB credit)
Top: ?, thrifted
Tights: We Love Colors
Shoes: Mossimo, thrifted
Earring: etXarte
Necklace & Bracelet: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
I wore this dress several times...farmers' marketing with Kate; out to lunch, to the vet, & Savers shopping with Super Boo; & to see Eurydice with Angie. I finally just bought the dress. I have a bunch in this style from Lucie Lu...but since they've now gone out of business...this will probably be the last one I add to my collection. Others I've worn recently...purple diamond & miami vice (more links to ones I've worn/bought found on this post). It's the sweetheart neckline & empire waist that get me every time.
I wore this dress alone & the 2 ways pictured above. The Citron kimono had such a lovely pattern & colors...but it was difficult to knot (not much fabric) & was just a box when worn open...or I would have bought it.
Saturday Farmers' Markets...downtown & west side. Weston Antique Apples are my favs...I take pictures each week of the varieties I buy at market so I know which one I'm eating. Kate buying romenesco. Sal's pizza with David & Rye at the vet. Sushi! with Angie before seeing Eurydice for the second time at APT...the first time was back in July
Savers 50% off finds...a lot of stuff for wearing to bed, a few cardigans, & green shoes.
I forgot to take a photo of the make-up I wore with this outfit, but I remember some of it...NYX eyeliner in Gypsy Blue; Kat von D eyeshadow in Fran, Legend, Misfit, Hyperballad, & Synth; & This Color's Making Waves nail polish by OPI.

Endgame

Dress: Perfect Wrap Dress in Gingham Raspberry by Leota (size 5L) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month free & help me earn GB credit)
Cardigan: ?, thrifted
Tights: We Love Colors
Shoes: Andiamo, thrifted
Earring: etXarte
Necklace: Babil & Bijou
Bracelet: Vintage, thrifted
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
If I put up a blog post on a Saturday...it's because I don't want many people to see it. I constructed this outfit in my head & while I will most certainly be wearing this cardigan & tights together again in the future...I don't care for them with the dress, but since I never give myself enough time to get ready...it was what I wore out of the house on this day. Pattern mixing gone wrong.
This orange/pink/white gingham dress reminded me of a summer picnic table...which I loved...but it was a tad tight on me. Leota has just started offering a 5x (which they call 5L) through GB, but it didn't fit me any better than any of the 4Ls I've worn.
We Love Colors sent these tights to me to test before releasing them. They asked me to give them my feedback & send them a photo. Now, I thought since they were testing fit that they wanted a photo of me in them with nothing covering them...so that is what they got. Then they released the tights & posted pictures of other girls wearing them...as part of an outfit. It didn't occur to me until then that that is what they wanted. Embarrassing. At least they didn't post my photo on Instagram.
At American Players Theatre with David & Kate to see Samuel Beckett's Endgame. Whenever there is a Kate...there is wine...because she is a wine collector, not a wino. I think I would have liked this play better had I not napped on & off due to the wonderful wine that made me sleepy.
My make-up with this outfit included...Sephora eyeliner in Brown; Kat von D eyeshadow in Dark Wave, Swoon, Analogue, Lyric, & Moulder; Korean Candy lipstick by MAC; Urban Decay lipstick in Menace; & OPI nail polish in You're A Pisa Work & Mod-ern Girl.

Size 22+ Style Lookbook

When Marcy asked me to be a part of her size 22+ lookbook...I was beyond flattered...look at all these gorgeous women!!! It is now live & ready for you to check out... 22+ Style. I am SO excited!!! It was incredibly fun to take part in this marvelous project. Marcy put a lot of work into this & I appreciate all she does for the plus size community.

I started my blog because there aren't too many bloggers out there that are my size & I think it is crucial for plus size women to see others that look like them. I think most of us have a distorted image of what we look like & looking at photos of myself has made me appreciate my body & style more. I blog to be more visible & because it brings me joy to be able to celebrate myself. I am inspired by Marcy & all the women involved in this lookbook.

Dress: Cherry Velvet, size 4x (gifted to me for this lookbook)
Necklace: Wendy Baker
More photos of this dress here

I am truly, madly, deeply in love with Cherry Velvet dresses. I need to take a trip to Vancouver, BC & give CV designer, Diane, a big hug...her dresses always make me feel so fearless & fetching. I know I've said it before...but I adore this company for making gorgeous dresses in 4x, all the way down to XS...thank you for making us feel #StunningAtAnySize.

Dress: Melissa Masse, size 4x (gifted to me for this lookbook)
Tights: We Love Colors
More photos of this dress coming soon

Melissa Masse is another designer I adore that makes her clothing available in sizes S-4x. Her fit & flare dresses make me feel flirty & feminine. I am still stunned that Melissa made this dress especially for me. Her choice of fabric was perfect for me, and made me gasp with its deeply vibrant hues & stunning pattern.

Dress: SWAK, size 3x (gifted to me for this lookbook)
More photos of this dress coming soon

SWAK makes lovely plus size clothing that is always a joy to wear & they go up to a 6x. I have a dress of theirs in my closet from nearly 10 years ago...still in perfect shape. If you are a tall girl looking for a maxi dress...this should be your go-to place to shop...their maxi's are always a tad too long on me at 5'7", but perfect with heels. Also, I don't know about you...but I feel like a goddess in a maxi dress...this one was particularly delightful with all the colors & patterns that makes my heart go pitter-pat.

Dress: Avenue, size 26/28 (gifted to me for this lookbook)
Teggings: Re/Dress
More photos of this dress here

I owe so much to Avenue. You may have noticed I'm obsessed with cardigans? Avenue is where it all began. Avenue has been a staple in my wardrobe for more than 2 decades. With Avenue, I know I can count on going into their store & leaving with something I will reach for again & again. And out of the dozens of dresses I've gotten from them over the years...this one is my favorite with its colorfully swirly kaleidoscope pattern & the sexy side slit that allows my teggings to peek through.

Dress, leggings, & shoes: Torrid (gifted to me for this lookbook)
More photos of this dress coming soon

When Torrid opened, it was the first store I could go into & try on clothing in my size that was a bit edgier than was being offered anywhere else. And I still obsessively check the Torrid website to see what new legging patterns are available. Oh, I love to pattern mix. What?! I only have ~20 pairs...you can never have too many leggings...or of anything really.

I have so many more pictures of these fabulous outfits to share with you in the next month. Check back here & on Instagram (the_muffin_queens_closet) to see them all.

To see more garments I've worn by these companies, click on their labels in the right hand margin. Thank you, thank you, thank you...Cherry Velvet, Melissa Masse, SWAK, Avenue, & Torrid for dressing me & making me feel like a Muffin Queen for a day...day after day! And thank you Marcy for including me in your lookbook, & making all this possible.

Charlie Parr @ The Barn

Dress: Scarf Print Dress in Black & Aqua by London Times (size 24) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month free & help me earn GB credit)
Sandals: Born, thrifted
Earring & Necklace: Babil & Bijou (out of business)
Bracelet: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo, Jason, & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
I wore this maxi to our last show of the season at The Shitty Barn back in October. I've worn this dress in red & coral & black & green...while I adore the pattern on this, it is a bit too baby blue for my taste...this would look stunning on a blonde. Other than being too pastel for me...this dress is perfect...great length & fit, & this plunging halter stays in place without gaping. Sexy goddess.
Booty...
Silly girlies...
David & me...we were not in a serious mood.
Kate & Jason, being adorable...
Tacos! And a marvelous old car parked outside the barn.
Kate & Jason on their folding love seat & a view of the barn from the back.
Charlie Parr...always amazing songs & wonderful storyteller.
My makeup with this outfit included...NYX eyeliner in Gypsy Blue, Kat von D eyeshadow in Synth & Hyperballad, Too Faced eyeshadow in Golden Nugget & Jackpot, Tannin lipstick by Bite Beauty, & Teal the Cows Come Home nail polish by OPI.
