Girlies Touching!

Dress: Floral Embroidered Green Dress by eShakti (size 24) via Gwynnie Bee
Shoes: Born
Earring & Bracelet: Wendy Baker
Necklace: Colleen Toland
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 50-47-68
Olive is my absolute favorite shade of green...so I adored this dress with the pretty embroidery. The fabric was a heavy t-shirt cotton/spandex & was incredibly comfortable. The fit & length were great, & of course, being eShakti, there were spacious pockets. My favorite part was that they continued the flowers through the back of the dress...I hate when things are only done in the front, don't you?
A mustardy yellow & orange to continue the warm palette.
I dyed my hair! The first time since October...this feels more me. This is my first time wearing this necklace (I think?)...I've got a matching bracelet & earrings, but I didn't feel like being matchy-matchy.
My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner & eyeshadow in Mildew, Nars Mediteranee eyeshadow duo, Orange County lipliner by NYX, Dozen Carnations lipstick from MAC, & OPI nail polish in Orange You Going To The Game?
The girlie & I in the same car...touching! O! M! G! It's been over a year. We even did some car talking.
Kate & I went to both the Westside Market & Dane County Farmers' Market...not much available this time of year, but it was a gorgeous day to be outside. Later that day...Carsie Blanton & her band played their last rent party. She said they'll still do a live stream once a month, but as some live gigs are coming back, she's not going to call it that any longer.
A spontaneous invite to dinner from Angie...plans with more than one person in a day?! Dinner & wine...with a side of adorable Freddie & naughty doggies! And the lovely company of Angie & Toby.
Ramps! Had to get them from the co-op since Harmony Valley is not going to market right now. David immediately made an omelet with them (& shiitake), delicious. New to me fun shoes...pink & orange Fluevogs found on the Flummunity. And to finish my Saturday night...new wave tunes.

Pedicure

Dress: Mallard Sheath Dress by Connected Apparel (size 24) via Gwynnie Bee
Cardigan: MAK (size 4x), gifted
Shoes: Crown by Born, thrifted
Earring: etXarte
Tin Type Necklace: former Etsy shop
Long Necklace & Bracelets: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 50-47-68
I typically am against sheath dresses...I just don't think they do anything for most women's figures. There's no waist, & no twirl in the skirt. However, this pattern & color palette are just so lush...I had to give it a try. I didn't dislike it, but still don't see the point of this cut. The fit & length were good, but I'm not sure how I felt about the side slit that exposed the black lining...indifferent? GORGEOUS pattern & colors though...which was my original point.
There were two greens in the dress & my cardigan & tights matched each of them rather well. I didn't want any other patterns competing with the dress...although there is the snakeskin print of the shoes, which I'm quite sure I've never worn before.
I've also never worn this gentleman tin type necklace before. I keep things for years...decades...& eventually there is a time for them.
My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Junkie, Too Faced eyeshadow in Sin City & Golden Nugget, Burgundy lipliner by MAC, Homegirl lipstick from Kat von D, & OPI nail polish in Hollywood & Wine.
We put a pillow on the kitchen floor so David could sit comfortably while I cut his hair, but Rye beat him to it. Is this pillow for meee? Cuddling doggies on the fainting couch in my office. I am trying a new subscription service, Nuuly. They have a completely different selection of offerings than GB does...a lot of Anthropologie with fantastic prints. Of course, they have a much better selection in smaller sizes, but they've got enough dresses to keep me interested at least through the summer. You get 6 garments at a time for a month & you get to pick which 6 items come to you. Here's my referral code if you'd like to check it out. I'm excited about it!
Lady DJs on Twitch. Normal life?! I got a pedicure! That hasn't happened since 2019. It was luxurious. I tried a new person at Elevation, Jenny, & she was fantastic. Afterwards, I headed to the courthouse to file the paperwork to change my name to the way I've spelled it since 6th grade (Meshel). Shane & I got all the paperwork back in Marquette in 1988, but I didn't go through with it because it was ~$100 & that seemed like a lot to me when I was a mere 18. Shane ended up changing his last name though.
DJ Sonic Marchesa playing David Bowie & Prince for my Friday night listening pleasure. And a bit of 80s New Wave over on DJ Ant's channel.

Orange Floral

Dress: Surplice Red Floral Dress by London Times (size 3x) via Gwynnie Bee
Tights: We Love Colors
Shoes: Circa Joan & David, thrifted
All Jewelry: Colleen Toland
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 50-47-68
Ah, the orange of this dress reminds me of why I love this color so much...I look lovely in warm colors...& check out this new peach wall we discovered. GB calls this dress red, but it is most certainly orange. The fit on this dress was good, but I felt it was a bit sloppy up top...not sure if it was the kimono sleeves or not enough elastic stretch left in the waistband. I still felt very feminine & pretty wearing this outfit.
This is my first time wearing these shoes I found at Savers years ago...the green matched the green in the dress & they were embroidered with orange flowers.I had some women tell me I looked beautiful as they were walking by...I miss human interaction where we can give & receive compliments from strangers.

I'm so happy to have my haircut. Also, I adore how this jewelry set goes so nicely with this dress. And did you notice I'm wearing TWO earrings?!
My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Roach, Sugarpill Cosmetics eyeshadow in Game Over & High Score, Violet Voss Sparkling Cherry Limeade palette, Orange County lipliner from NYX, Mimosa lipstick by Bite Beauty, & OPI nail polish in Race Red.
This gorgeous bat woman by Igor Morski would be the perfect addition to my right leg which already has a bat woman tattoo by Albert Joseph PĂ©not. I have SO many tattoo plans & only a few years left before my skin is too old to get them. Fuck Covid local beer at the co-op...buying more fish. Amanda chatting live online with her Patreons.
DJ Starr Noir playing tunes with her friends for her 40th birthday. Some lovely wine glasses my mom sent me for my birthday...they are from Barcelona & were inspired by the stained glass windows in Sagrada Familia...which Kate & I saw when we were there, but did not wait in the hours long line to go inside. Davina!
Weekend New Wave tunes from The Late Bar. Doggies getting baths in the kitchen sink...poor Rye has been having terrible allergies. And...The Glenn Crytzer Quartet entertaining us with songs from 1941.

First Inside Visit!

Dress: Keyhole Color Block Bottle Green Dress by eShakti (size 24) via Gwynnie Bee
Leggings: LuLaRoe via eBay
Shoes: Ann Taylor Loft, thrifted
Earring: etXarte
Necklace & Bracelet: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 50-47-68
The color of this dress was spectacular...otherwise, meh. It came to me in not great shape...but it didn't matter...it was weird...it had big metal magnetic snaps to close the front that kept coming undone & there was a zipper on the side. The fit & length were good...& there were deep pockets.
I wore this dress...to get a haircut! My last one was in October...now I just need to dye my hair.
This was my first time wearing this vintage Miriam Haskell necklace...I had to tie it with a ribbon to make it longer so it fell below the keyhole.
My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Overdrive, Jasper & Laurel eyeshadow by Natasha Denona, NYX lipliner in Pumpkin, Mimosa lipstick by MAC, & OPI nail polish in Race Red.
Less hair...mostly just chopped off one side since I'm growing the other side out. DJs playing songs.
The nurses where I got my PRP shots could never find my veins. My regular clinic uses the inside of my elbow every time with no problem. I had bruises covering both my hands where they tried to take blood. Taken at the gym, where I went to lift weights without David. Fish at the co-op...while David was visiting his parents in California (for the first time since 2019), I tried to make sure I was still eating well. Fish is usually my go-to easy to make for myself meal. Norwegian Trout (similar to salmon) with asparagus & Angie's confit garlic. More DJs spinning tunes.
Kate & Jason came over for an INSIDE visit (we are all fully vaccinated)...they picked up sandwiches from the co-op for lunch & some lime & avocado for me...& I concocted this delicious salad...farmers' market spinach with shrimp, garlic, avocado & a lime/olive oil dressing (I've made this 1/2 a dozen times since then & also add fresh cilantro).
Doggy loving! A lovely visit with Kate & Jason while we ate lunch & they did laundry. It was so...normal. Glenn Crytzer & his boys playing songs from 1940.
50% off these palettes on Urban Decay...sure, I need more eyeshadow. And my April Boxy Charm.

Easter Outside

Dress: Cap Sleeve Yellow Print Dress by Tiana B (size 3x) via Gwynnie Bee
Cardigan: Talbots (size 3x), thrifted
Leggings: Torrid (size 4x)
Shoes: Born
Earring & Bracelet: Wendy Baker
Photography: Super Boo, Kate, & Me
Stats: 5'7" 50-47-68
I adored the bright yellow lemon-like spring print of this dress...& that's where the love affair ended. It was too big & shapeless...it reminded me of a hospital gown. The fabric was flimsy & cheap feeling, the armholes were huge, & the cutout in back was too low (had to keep pulling my bra down). But...it looked like Easter, so I wore it anyway.
Dress I don't like? Throw all the lemons at it! Even this wall said lemons all over it.
If I had realized how frumpy I looked in this dress...I wouldn't have worn it. I never really know what I look like until I see photos. This is my first time wearing these shoes since brightening them up with shoe polish (duller version).
Last outfit photos before a much needed hair cut. I actually have a vintage Miriam Haskell lemon necklace that broke. Someday I will fix it, but I'm glad I didn't have it available to me because I prefer this brighter orange necklace...yellow & green wouldn't have stood out as much.
My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Mars; Grass, Candles, & Ten eyeshadow by Lime Crime; NYX lip liner in Orange County; MAC lipstick in Dozen Carnations; & Woodstock nail polish from Colors by Llarowe.
Ms. Siouxsie Sioux...always perfect. Mushrooms! I am in love with this dress from nooworks.
Friday nights...chick DJs. David made us a whole roasted snapper...it was delicious.
New Wave Saturdays. An Easter visit from the girlie & her beau...it was in the 70s & gorgeous outside.
Perhaps our next photo will be us touching each other?! Glenn Crytzer playing songs from 1939. In the late afternoon...more visitors for a casual Easter brunch. Angie made deviled eggs...my favorite!!!
We opened up a bottle of sparkling wine & a crisp white. I LOVE this picture of David...my husband is so sexy...even if he does hate having his picture taken. Angie blowing bubbles for Freddie. David made us Chilean sea bass & asparagus for our meal...but apparently I was so hungry, I forgot to take a shot. Angie baked these fabulous almond cookies, which made the most wonderful strawberry shortcake. I thought it was extra sweet of her to make something we could eat that is low carb (to control our diabetes). And lastly, I wore this dress to get the final PRP shot in my knee. Here's hoping it works.
