Zombie Jesus Brunch

Dress: Jatin Dress by X-two (size 26/28) via Gwynnie Bee Shop
Cardigan: SWAK
Shoes: Mossimo, thrifted
Earring: etXarte
Necklace: Babil & Bijou (no longer online)
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
I wore this outfit for Easter brunch & on another day to work. Although to be completely honest...I only wore the dress & earring to brunch...when I host a meal, I often don't have time for make-up & feel lucky to have showered & put clothes on. I chose this dress for Easter because...duh, pink. I got this dress free from the GB Shop at the end of December. They've put free things in the Shop several times, but this is the first time I've ordered a free garment because I thought I'd at least wear this as a nightgown if nothing else. I'm not clear if they add free things for fun or by mistake. I rather like the asymmetrical double skirt hemline...but I had to steam it as it wrinkles easily. This dress will be worn to garage sales & the dog park over the summer...then become a nightgown. I don't iron.
Easter Brunch, or as we like to call it...Zombie Jesus Brunch. We managed to squeeze 9 of us around our dining room table. There are always vegetarians, but this year I also had to take into account that Kate was going dairy free (except for eggs) for the month of March. I think I managed delicious food for all. I made the cover dish of the Jerusalem cookbook, Shakshuka, for which I also made my own harissa, since I needed it for my favorite new dish of brunch, Harissa & Maple Roasted Carrots. There was also a new strata, spinach & cheese strata, which is Smitten Kitchen's favorite brunch recipe. Then I made some old favorites...caramelized onion strata (with shiitake, gouda, pork, sage), rosemary garlic roasted potatoes, roasted sweet potatoes, asparagus with hollandaise, bagels & lox, & 2 kinds of waffles made by Kate, Jason, & Daniel...carrot cake & whole wheat. And mimosas, the reason for brunch. Yum!
For dessert we had fruit salad with ginger (Kate), fruit tart (elly & Josh), & cinnamon roll monkey bread (Angie). It was all amazingly delicious.
After food...lounging in the living room, taking turns in David's massage chair. David cleaned for 4 hours straight downstairs...he's wonderful. And dogs. Kate in an adorable spring outfit.
My make-up with this outfit included...NYX eyeliner in Deep Blue,  Too Faced eyeshadow in Totally Fetch & Sprinkles, Bite Beauty lipstick in Quince, Urban Decay lipstick in Crush, & OPI polish in Give Me Space.

I wore this floral outfit to work & run errands. I bought this skirt from GB back in December...it has a great subtle floral embossed pattern. The top had gorgeous colors, but I would have preferred if it hadn't had the tie, or even better...v-neck. I could have sized down in this top, but I suspect it still would have been too long. It was extremely comfortable & I wish I had worn it a second time a completely different way.
I wasn't actually wearing this outfit when Kate came over with 6 bottles of the same Riesling from different years, as it was the night before & I'm quite sure I was wearing some pilled dress with no bra. But it was fabulous fun to taste all these Rieslings & discover what a difference a year makes.
I loved my eyeshadow with this outfit.
I wear a lot of earrings made by Teri of etXarte, but it had been years since I'd gotten anything new from her. That all changed recently as she designed some gorgeous single earrings for me, including this one...

I wore this pattern mixing parade to go to an open house with Super Boo. I adore the colors in this gorgeous scarf print chiffon top, even if the attached stretch knit shirt combo initially made me feel like one of the Golden Girls. I originally thought I would wear the pretty overlayer tied up like below to give me a more defined shape...but I hated it that way & ended up rocking it as is & feeling pretty all day. Had this not been too big on me, I might have purchased it because I loved the mixed media print so much.
There was a hundred year old orange house for sale over the summer that Super Boo & I both liked...so when we saw it was back on the market with an open house...we had to check it out. It had the oddest fun house mirror layout...if we lived there I would constantly be bashing into walls where walls don't belong. The best part about the house was the color.
I thought this necklace was a lovely compliment to all the marvelous colors in this outfit...
