Pretty Purple

Dress: Black & Purple Print Dress by Julian Taylor (size 24) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month free & help me earn GB credit)
Cardigan: Croft & Barrow (size 2x), thrifted
Tights: Catherines
Shoes: Born, thrifted
Earring: Wendy Baker
Necklace: Babil & Bijou, former etsy shop
Black Necklace & Bracelets: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
These scuba knit fit & flares from Julian Taylor are always a hit...the fit & length are spot on for me. The various shades of purple in this dress are gorgeous & the baroque wallpaper print = love. I believe all the other dresses I've had like this one are sleeveless, but this had short sleeves...so no gapping armholes. I'll buy this one when it comes to the shop.
I thought the flowers in this cardigan went so well with the dress...despite having a navy background. In fact, a friend asked me if the two came together as a set.
When I picked out this lipstick online...I thought it was burgundy...I  was pleasantly surprised to find out it was a lovely shade of purple.
My make-up with this outfit included...Tetra eyeliner by Stila; Instinct, Glance, Spontaneous, & Improvise eyeshadow from Stila; Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar in Luxe; & OPI nail polish in Peel Me a Gobi Grape.
I wore this dress to work on two different days & to run errands...also, to open these Fluevogs I got on sale...preeeeetttty....

Have You Ever Had Fun Wearing A Name Tag?

Dress: Floral Jacquard Dress in Teal by Julian Taylor (size 24) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month free & help me earn GB credit)
Cardigan: Avenue
Leggings: Torrid
Boots: Steve Madden
Earring: etXarte
Necklace: former Etsy shop
Bracelets: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo, Kate, & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
I loved the teal color in this jacquard fit & flare dress...& the way it went with my teal & black plaid leggings that you can barely see in these photos...click to make them bigger & you can see slightly better. Great flare in this dress, but a tad too short for me without leggings to cover up...the fabric is a nice thick weight for colder months & the pattern is gorgeous. Stupid exposed back zipper...some day this trend will die.
I still can't believe I found these boots buried in my piles of stuff last year...in the box...never worn. The worst part of that? I don't even remember buying them. But! They are my favorite black boots now & I wear them all the time.
Teal, Red, & Black...I like this color combo...
My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Deep End; UD eyeshadow in Amp, Demo, & Angelfire; Russian Red lipstick by MAC; & An Affair in Red Square nail polish from OPI.
I wore this dress to attend Kate's work Christmas party...where the food wasn't great, but they made a passable Moscow Mule. I was wearing a name tag...have you ever had fun wearing a name tag? Then we went out to eat at Wah Kee...where the food was better & I was envious of Kate's soup.

Saturday Market & Wine

Dress: Flare 3/4 Sleeve Dress with Keyhole Details in Black by Julian Taylor (size 24) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month free & help me earn GB credit)
Tights: Catherines
Shoes: Aerosoles, thrifted
Earring: etXarte
Necklace: Over The Top, gift from Kate
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
What a marvelous little black dress...the bell sleeves, the keyhole cutouts, the fit & flare silhouette, & the thick textured fabric...I fell in love with it all. I felt extra sexy wearing this dress...then I realized when we were taking photographs...the shoulders at the sleeves refused to behave...they just wouldn't lay down no matter what we did. Also, pointless back zipper...is that just me? I haven't seen anyone else have this shoulder problem...so perhaps I received a poorly sewn one. Otherwise, it was a darling dress.
We took advantage of this cold Saturday to snap pictures outside our gorgeous capitol building...less people.
This neckline wasn't calling out for a necklace...however, Kate bought me this beautiful necklace several years back & the length & delicateness (for me!) of it added some color without hiding the keyholes...& gave me an excuse to wear my new green Grinch polish.
My make-up with this outfit included...Delinquent eyeliner from Urban Decay; UD eyeshadow in Druggie, Misdemeanor, & Goldmine; Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar in Luxe; Ultraviolet Cosmic Metals lipstick by NYX; & Mean Mr. Grinch nail polish from Colors by Llarowe.
I wore this dress to get my haircut on Friday afternoon, then the next day with Kate...to farmers' market, peruse the fair trade holiday festival, & sip bubbles.

Forge & Esmé Patterson

Dress: Mixed Print Dress in Green & Blue by Julian Taylor (size 24) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month free & help me earn GB credit)
Teggings: Re/Dress
Sandals: Dansko & Born
Necklace, Earring, Bracelet: Wendy Baker
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
I immediately closeted this dress after seeing it on Kate's friend Lindsay at farmers' market...maybe it's a bit too precious on me?  I adore the mix of blues & greens with a dash of purple thrown in. This dress was a great fit & length...& the scuba fabric would work all year...with a cardigan in cooler months.
I ended up with a different pair of shoes for the first photos because I wanted to see them both in pictures before deciding.
I was thrilled to be able to wear these peacock teggings as they don't go with much & the color is so gorgeous.
My make-up with this outfit included...Junkie eyeliner by Urban Decay; UD eyeshadow in Goldmine, Mean, Hatter, Blindsided, & Sketch; MAC lipstick in Model Behavior; & This Color's Making Waves nail polish by OPI.
The former Madison Brass Works building is being remodeled & taken over by the community center across the street...but before that happens...artists went in & created art inspired by this space...much of it using stuff that was in the building. Forge...
This is what the glass block wall I often use for photos looks like inside...
Doggie!!!
Esmé Patterson at The Shitty Barn...but first, Nick Brown (he's from Ishpeming in the U.P., the next town over from my hometown, Marquette).
Savers 50% off 4th of July sale finds...including some leopard slippers which I will wear all winter long.
And...surprise cookout at Angie & Toby's on the 4th. Angie texted us earlier in the day to invite us & I was SO excited...we were at our new house working (like we do every day)...& I needed a break...AND...not having to think about what to make for dinner after a long day...it was perfect.

The Harmaleighs

Dress: Fit & Flare Dress in Pastel Floral by Julian Taylor (size 24) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month free & help me earn GB credit)
Teggings: Re/Dress
Sandals: Born
Earring & Bracelet: Wendy Baker
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
The colors in this dress are delicately dreamy...I would have immediately bought it if the armholes weren't so large. Why is it so difficult to make properly sized armholes? Otherwise I thought this dress was delightful & the scuba fabric will hold up well, so I may buy this when it shows up cheap in the shop.
I always forget to pull my dress down in back when I turn around...
The Harmaleighs at The Shitty Barn...from Nashville. They have been my favorite show so far this year at the barn...indie pop americana...such sweet voices & clever lyrics.
My favorite song of theirs, Birds of A Feather...
David & I took a trip to Milwaukee to pick up some vintage doors we purchased...we've been trying to get them for quite a while, but there is always some reason the guy we purchased them from won't let us (they are locked in a room & only the boss has the key, my mother is dying, my mother died). We texted the guy we were on our way & he said...find me, don't talk to anyone & if anyone asks, you lost your receipt. The guy quickly loads up our doors & David said...I don't think the front door we bought is here...guy says, oh, that broke so I gave you a different one (not at all the same). That place is just weird & creepy...this bird lives in the warehouse.
However, WasteCap in Milwaukee is awesome. We brought home some doors, knobs, & a gigantic mailbox on this day. Everyone there is always so friendly & helpful.
My make-up with this outfit included...Voodoo eyeliner from Urban Decay; Candied Violet eyeshadow by Too Faced; Kat von D eyeliner in Anthem, Analogue, Fran, & Lemmy; MAC lipstick in Dozen Carnation; & Aim to Misbehave nail polish by Essie.

Spring in Madison

Dress: Keyhole Dress in Pastel Floral by Julian Taylor (size 24) via GB Shop
Cardigan: ?, thrifted
Tights: Catherines
Shoes: Dansko, gift from David
Earring: Wendy Baker
Necklace: A Luscious Thing
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
I wore this dress late last summer, but resisted buying it...then it showed up in the GB Shop for $10, so...I own this dress in a few solid colors...it's just the most lovely fit & flare with its numerous panels that give it full flare fabulousness.
My only complaint about this dress is the huge pointless zipper down the back, as always...but this time around...even more annoying because this particular dress the shop sent me has a faulty zipper that doesn't stay zipped...so I would suddenly feel cold on my back & need to re-zip...I tell myself I will sew this shut...it didn't seem worth complaining about.
I first wore this dress to Olbrich Gardens Spring Flower Show, which had a dinner party theme...I just love whimsical stuff like this.
In my dream life (the one where I sew that zipper shut)...I would love to study these photos & recreate something like it in my yard. So, stay tuned...but don't hold your breath.
Table waterfall...this one was my favorite...
There were so many creative spectacular tableaus...it was difficult to pick which ones to share.
I also wore this ensemble on the 1st day of the Wisconsin Film Festival (& on another film fest day)...which really signals spring has come to Madison for me. I just noticed that these dates are only for when movies were showing at The Barrymore & not the whole fest.
We voted! And ate Indian buffet. I couldn't get both Kate & Jason's faces in this photo AND show you her adorable fox leggings.
Nick Offerman day at the film fest. I'm only vaguely aware of who he is (I never got into that show)...but the films were all great & he was hilarious during every q&a...especially as the day wore on...one of the questions posed was if he watched the film or the audiences reaction to it...he said, I'm over at Great Dane drinking beer.
My make-up with this outfit included...Stila eyeliner in Tetra; Urban Decay eyeshadow in Misdemeanor, UV-B, Freakshow, & Midnight Cowboy; NYX lip palette in The Plums; & Unorthodox Annie nail polish from Colors by Llarowe.
