You Worry About Its Success

Dress: Dominique Dress in Cerise Curve by Igigi (size 26/28) via eBay or GB resellers
Teggings: Re/Dress
Shoes: Earth, thrifted
Earring: etXarte
Necklace: Me
Bracelets: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo, Kate, & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
I originally wore this dress when I had it from GB back in 2015...I bought it last year from either eBay or one of the GB resellers. This was one of my favorite styles from Igigi (they are still around, but so different since they were bought out that I don't even consider them when thinking about places to buy clothes) & I adore this pattern & am wowed by the color combination. This dress is basically flawless.
These Earth shoes I found at Savers are some of the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn.
I made this necklace years ago & rarely wear it...but every once in a while I like to force myself to wear something that doesn't get out often.
The makeup I wore with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Alkaline, Love+ & Flamepoint eyeshadow from Sugarpill, Anastasia eyeshadow in Primavera, NYX lip palette in The Reds, & Santa Monica Beach Peach nail polish by OPI.
I wore this dress to attend Gallery Night with Kate. We decided to go to the museum that plans the event, MMoCA...where I found this fun twisty scarf, a metal letter M, & a wise beer can.
Isn't this painting spectacular?! I'd love to sit a while in this room full of excess & trinkets. It's titled, Casual Chic.
This was my favorite painting of the evening, You Worry About Its Success, by Hollis Sigler. It reminds me of a magical evening at APT where the stage is set & we are waiting for the play to begin.
Girlie seated in a creepy little house...other girlie peering in the window. Shane would have loved that painting of Rudolph Valentino in his coffin. After arting, there was eating at Himal Chuli.

Joe Pug at The Barn

Dress: Rose Print Dress by Jessica Howard (size 24) via Gwynnie Bee, Try Then Buy
Leggings: Torrid (size 4x)
Shoes: Me Too, thrifted
Earring: etXarte
Necklace: Wendy Baker
Bracelets: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
I last wore this dress nearly four years ago to see a play at APT...it is so true what they say...time does go by faster & faster as you get older...I would have guessed it was only two years ago. Apparently, I bought it for only $24...back when GB had 50% off sales. This dress has a vintage vibe with the antique rose print & I like the way it fits me...but is it too conservative? Should it stay or should it go?
When I first wore this dress, I stuck to the black & ecru theme...but this time I added some red to brighten it up...perhaps I need to try this dress again during cardigan season to add more color?
I am smitten with my makeup...this is softer than I usually go & it's a nice change.
My make-up with this outfit included...NYX Faux Blacks eyeliner in Oxblood, Love+ eyeshadow from Sugarpill, Too Faced eyeshadow in Marzipan & Creme Brûlée, Russian Red lipstick by MAC, & O'Hare & Nails Look Great nail polish by OPI.
I wore this dress to attend the first Shitty Barn show of the year...Joe Pug. And...I drank a beer all by myself...well, 3/4 of it. Joe Pug played guitar, harmonica, & piano while singing some fabulous Americana music...& he told some good stories...which is nearly as important to me as the music. He also introduced me to an artist I'd never listened to before (& now really like)...Billy Joe Shaver...by way of a story about Billy Joe that involved a man stirring his drink with a switchblade at a bar, which he didn't care for...so they took it outside & Billy Joe shot the man "between mother & fucker"...Willie Nelson & Robert Duvall showed up in court as character witnesses & (probably because it happened in Texas)...he got off on the basis of it being self defense.
Some vintage jewelry I got from etsy...
I also wore this dress to work & out to dinner with David (Great Dane Fish Fry). Also, some pretty lace things from Society+...a black top & raspberry skirt. And...I know I don't post much about our house remodel here...I guess because I'm not wearing pretty clothes while I work on it...but this was the state of my closet (formerly a garage) during the time of these photos.

Muffin's 48th Birthday

Dress: Brigitte Humming Violet-Bird Print Dress by Cherry Velvet (size 4x) via Gwynnie Bee, Try Then Buy
Teggings: Re/Dress
Shoes: Madden Girl
Earring: Kerala Rose
Necklace: Wendy Baker
Bracelets: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
Oh, Cherry Velvet...how I adore you...such lovely summertime frocks in cool cotton. I immediately bought this one because of the vivid violet...doesn't it make a beautiful birthday outfit? So colorful & happy! I have worn & own several of these Brigitte dresses...such a great cut for me...& of course it has pockets.
And an adorable cut-out in the back.
My birthday was all the way back on May 1st. We've been busy fixing up our new house for the past year...& we are finally living in it! Tonight is our 5th night sleeping here...someday I will catch up on the blog.
My make-up with this outfit included...Voodoo eyeliner from Urban Decay; Echo, Fran, Legend, & Swoon eyeshadow by Kat von D; UD lipstick in Speedball & Big Bang with a bit of NYX The Plums lip palette; & Woodstock nail polish by Colors by Llarowe.
Before heading over to Heritage Tavern for my birthday dinner, Super Boo & I stopped at Olbrich Gardens to take outfit photos & selfies. I love my life with David.
This is the best gin & tonic I've ever had in my life...with house made ginger-bergamot tonic...& ice cubes embedded with rosemary & kumquats. I need to go back soon before it disappears.
David is so sweet...he started giving me presents every day, beginning on Friday & ending Tuesday, on my birthday. My tongue is always trying to escape from my mouth. So much delicious food!
Most of my gifts from David were a complete (successful) surprise...stuff for jewelry making: a metal plate with strong magnets that have flexible tubing with pinchers on the end to hold things (a picture would have been so much easier...but it's packed away in one of our many unpacked boxes) & a magnificent set of pliers, the Lands End leopard raincoat I've been lusting after (but never told him about)...I was beyond excited by that...there are so many times I need a raincoat at The Shitty Barn & APT in the summer, heaps of Lane Bryant panties, & SO much Kat von D makeup...including the Divine eyeshadow palette & the 10th anniversary eyeshadow palette...so pretty! I am a spoiled girlie.

Spirits in the Sky

Dress: Waverly Street Skater Dress in Green Damask Print by Society+ (size 26/28)
Cardigan: Avenue, thrifted
Tights: Catherines
Boots: Dr. Martens
Earring: Kerala Rose
Necklace: Age Before Beauty
Bracelet: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo, Kate, & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
Another fab dress from Society+ that I bought the same time as this purple plaid number (GB later got it & it may still be available to rent). This is a heavy fabric with stretch & texture that is just SO good. The top is fitted & feels like a gentle hug...who doesn't want to be hugged all day long?! And the skirt flares out wonderfully & the length is perfect for me. And pockets. I wouldn't change a thing about this dress.
I should have worn purple tights.
This is my first time wearing these gorgeous purple & gold boots I bought from ModCloth 2 or 3 years ago...damask on damask...
This is also my first time wearing this bracelet that I found on eBay. It is an identical match to the black one I wear a lot...I gasped when I saw it. It actually came in the mail between the two times I wore this dress, so I'm wearing the black one in the photos of girlie cocktails below.
My makeup with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Mars; UD eyeshadow in Freakshow, Hoodoo, Chase, & Disco; Voodoo & Big Bang lipstick by UD; & CND Vinylux nail polish in Grape Gum.
I wore this dress for the start of my birthday weekend...which lasted Friday-Tuesday...so, a long weekend. David completely spoiled me by giving me gifts each of those days...all of which I loved. But first, cocktails at Merchant with the girlie!
They have the most adorable new seasonal menu in the form of a record album...with cocktails named after songs of the 70s.
We ate tasty food & drank all the delightful drinks we desired. Out of the six drinks we tasted...I think there was only one we wouldn't order again.
I ended the night with Moonage Daydream...which will be the perfect tropical drink to sip outside this summer. Kate decorated her hair with the flowers from her last drink, Rhiannon...then posed with some food photography in a magazine on our way out. This was such a fun evening, thank you girlie! Then I came home to a GB fail which I took this picture of before shoving it back in the return bag.

The Crane Wives at North Street Cabaret

Dress: Flirty Flounce Wrap Dress in Navy Paisley by Kiyonna (size 4x), gift from Super Boo
Tights: We Love Colors in Royal
Shoes: Born
Earring & Necklace: Wendy Baker
Bracelet: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo, Kate, Jason, & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
David bought me this lovely paisley frock last year, but this was my first time wearing it. I adore these wrap dresses & own several of them...both in prints & solids. I finally figured out that Kiyonna calls them whimsey wrap dresses when they are a solid color & flirty flounce wrap dresses in prints. They are my favorite wrap dresses...& this one, with its happy color combination & my most prized pattern, paisley...makes this a dream dress for me.
Orange accessories...the color of fun.
I never got around to taking photos of my jewelry & make-up...so I have no info to share. We took these pictures as the sun was starting to set...then I had to dash off to see a concert with Kate & Jason.
We managed to nab some photos outside the venue before the sun went down...
Of course we got there ridiculously early because I have to sit right in front or I have a near panic attack. So...time for visiting, cocktails, & yummy food...their guacamole & housemade chips are the best. And then The Crane Wives hit the stage...we planned on leaving during break as it was a weeknight, but I took a photo of the set list on stage & they were playing Kate's favorite song during the second half...so we stayed until the end. I think this is our third...or fourth time seeing them...fabulous every time.

Mauve Leopard

Dress: Circle Dress in Leopard Jacquard by Leota (size 5L) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month free & help me earn GB credit)
Tights: Catherines
Shoes: Dansko
Earring:
Necklace: Wendy Baker
Bracelet: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
I already wore this style of dress in a teal circle print, so I knew what I was getting into...perfectly lovely heavy knit fit & flare...super cute, with the exception of the top having way too much fabric. If this showed up in the shop for $20...I'd take a chance & buy this one size smaller. I loved the unexpected mauve leopard print, I expected it to be pink. Great one & done, back in the bag to GB.
Low scoop neck back (a lot of girls wore this backwards).
I think I got these lips to nearly match the dress...
My makeup with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Delinquent; Kat von D eyeshadow in Swoon, Love, & Anthem; Creme Brûlée eyeshadow from Too Faced; UD lipstick in Big Bang & Speedball; & Sonora Sunset nail polish by OPI.
I wore this dress on a Sunday to go to Savers with David to find a few finds...followed by Indian buffet. Also, this pretty bracelet came in the mail from eBay.
Later in the afternoon...Kate & I went to her wine tasting group where the theme was...grocery store wines under $20. The girlie matched her wine to her leggings. The other two photos were taken by Scott Lothes, which I lifted from the article Lindsay wrote about the tasting.
