Girlie Afternoon

Dress: 3/4-Knot Front Dress in Bouquet by Lucie Lu (size 5x) via Gwynnie Bee (use link to get your first month for $10 & help me earn an extra garment for a month)
Tights: Catherines
Shoes: Ariat
Necklace: Vintage
Earring: etXarte
Photography: Super Boo & Me (Canon Rebel & iPhone)
I wore this dress to go out to lunch & shopping with Kate & Angie, then again the next day to run errands with Super Boo. Such pretty shades of orange & gold in this soft fuzzy winter floral dress. This style is super flattering with the sweetheart neckline, but I have other Lucie Lu prints I like better. As always, I size up 1 in this brand.
Kate, Angie, & I had a girlie afternoon that started with a mediterranean lunch at Nile where we had tea, feta, olives, hummus, pita, stuffed grape leaves, tabbouleh, & spinach pie.

Then, the real reason for our outing, Sephora! I had a 20% off coupon that I had used earlier in the week to get foundation that I was out of...but this day was for playing with all the pretty shiny sparklies. I got this year's Bite Beauty Tin with 4 mini lip pencils (which I forgot to include in the photo below)...actually, I mostly got lipsticks...& free things, like the Caudalie skincare box.

After dabbling, sampling, & purchasing lovely & necessary supplies...we went to Nordstrom Rack, where Angie found a great deal on make-up & Kate tried on sexy dresses, including the plaid print above which went home with her.
It was a delightful girlie afternoon even though I'm not much of a shopper...it's enjoyable to do a few times a year & playing with make-up tops my list of frivolous fun activities.

Kimono Cardigan

Dress: Juliet Dress in Blue by SWAK (size 4x)
Cardigan: Rila Kimono Cardigan by BB Dakota (size 3x) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month for $10 & help me earn an extra garment for a month)
Socks: Sock Dreams
Shoes: Dansko
Necklace & Earring: Babil & Bijou
Photography: Super Boo & Me (Canon Rebel & iPhone)
I wore this outfit to work. I bought this Juliet dress back in the spring because I loved the color & how comfy & flowy it is. The kimono top from GB was the most lovely breezy fabric for summer, however, I felt a bit silly wearing it on this chilly fall day. I liked the idea of a kimono cardigan, but this was just too boxy for me & I didn't understand why the back panel was black lace...?
The colors were pretty.
Have I mentioned I adore SOCKS?!

The Nightmare Before Christmas

Dress: Geneva Wrap Dress in Ocean Wave by Igigi (size 26/28)
Cardigan: Avenue
Scarf: garage sale
Socks: Sock Dreams
Shoes: Dansko
Pin: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo & Me (Canon Rebel & iPhone)
I wore this outfit to work, out to dinner with Super Boo, & to see one of my favorite movies. I bought this dress from Igigi during their Labor Day sale...I just can't resist stripes & I adore how these change directions. I also bought this style of dress in green palma print because I love wrap dresses & these feminine fluttery sleeves. I'm not so sure about the scarf, what do you think? I have a rather large collection of scarves that I never wear, so when I spied this stripy number while searching for socks...I threw it on.
Outside of Italy, this pizza from Cafe Porta Alba is the best I've ever had. I got my usual Quattro Formaggi, but we also shared what is now my new favorite...Rustica- pancetta, balsamic caramelized onions, & fresh mozzarella (no tomato sauce). It was delightful. After dinner we popped into DB Chocolates for a sweet fix.
This was the third time I've seen Nightmare Before Christmas in the theatre. The first time was when it was originally released, the second time was with Kate for its 10th anniversary, & then with Super Boo (who hadn't seen it since it was first in theatres). I love this charmingly dark love story & have a collection of movie memorabilia, of which I am especially fond of the snow globes.
So many colors & stripes...

I Voted

Dress: Carina Nebula Fit & Flare Dress by Triste (size 4x) via Gwynnie Bee (click this link to get your first month for $10 & help me earn an extra garment for a month)
Teggings: Re/Dress
Orange Cardigan: Lane Bryant
Red Cardigan: Avenue
Socks: Sock Dreams
Orange Shoes: Born
Red Shoes: Dansko
Necklace: Vintage (Garage Sale)
Flower Earring: Wendy Baker
Red Earring: etXarte
Photography: Super Boo & Me (Canon Rebel & iPhone)
I wore this dress twice, once to work & on another day to work, out to lunch with Super Boo, & to vote. The colors in this dress were rich & vibrant, perfect for autumn...& the lace pattern was lovely. Triste is one of GB's house brands, which I don't always like...but this was by far my favorite. It was a difficult one to send back. I find these dresses flattering, but wish they were a few inches longer with v-necks.
We repaint this huge vote sign every major election, however, this year we just covered up Obama with signs *smile*

Which look do you like better...orange or red?
Pretty pattern...

Pie Palooza

Dress: Skater Dress in Mixed Floral Print by ASOS Curve (size 24) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month for $10 & help me earn an extra garment for a month)
Cardigan: Avenue
Socks: Sock Dreams
Shoes: Dansko
Earring: Wendy Baker
Photography: Kate & Me (iPhone)
I wore this outfit to eat pie with Kate, Angie, Toby, & Daniel. This was a cute comfy cozy skater dress. It was really overpriced though, as GB was asking more than the current sale price on ASOS. Angie was interested in buying it & I had to write to cs because I was sure the price was wrong...I was expecting $20 & they wanted $33 (with my 30% off November discount). I liked the matching, but differently sized, patterns in the top & bottom...it made it a bit more fun. This dress was a fabulous one time wear for me, but ultimately too casual...& the neck was too high to wear a necklace.
Pie! Kate & I have been attending this delicious event for years...the last several times its been at Goodman Community Center, where these outfit photos & many of my photos are taken.
These scrumptious quiches from Water House Bistro were amazingly tasty...one was pumpkin, pecan, & wild rice and the other was mushroom & swiss. Pumpkin Creme Brûlée Pie was dessert. Even the salad dressing at this event is yummy!
My best effort at drawing the tasty quiches.
Kate looked so darling in this Cherry Velvet frock, I couldn't pick just one photo.
I was the first person to wear this dress, & it is already looking a tad pilled. I am curious how it will hold up.

Halloween Story Time: Fear

Dress: Earthen Ombre Fit & Flare Dress by Spruce & Sage (size 30) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month for $10 & help me earn an extra garment for a month)
Cardigan: Avenue
Socks: Sock Dreams
Shoes: Born
Bracelets: Vintage
Earring: Wendy Baker
Necklace: Gift from Suz in The Girls of GB jewelry swap
Photography: Super Boo, Kate, & Me (Canon Rebel & iPhone)
I wore this dress to work & out with Kate on Halloween & again the next day to farmers' market & wine tasting. The first photo Super Boo took of me before I left the house on Friday. As usual, I didn't look in a mirror until I got to work & then I immediately untied my cardigan & wore it buttoned like it is in the other 2 pictures Kate took of me the next day. I liked this *much* better as the waist on the first version of these GB house brand dresses is in an odd place...which is not so noticeable with the buttoned sweater. The autumn colors in this dress were stunning...orange & green *swoon*. I had to wear it twice before reluctantly sending it back.
Kate dressed as a dalek posing with our autumn themed beverages. The majority of the crowd in attendance at Johnson Public House for the Halloween Story Slam was in costume. The cast of Princess Bride were adorable.
The theme for the night was fear. There were some great stories, marvelous storytellers, & some nervous, but brave souls. This event takes place the last Friday of every month, so Kate decided we will all go in January for her birthday & tell stories.
Saturday after the market wine tasting.
Shifty Chevron Kate.
I'm an admin for a GB group on Facebook (if you are a GB member, you should join us!) & I got this necklace as part of a jewelry swap we did (I also received an orange tentacle bracelet). So pretty, my favorite colors!

Aztec Acid

Dress: 3/4-Knot Front Dress in Aztec Acid by Lucie Lu (5x) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month free & help me earn an extra garment for a month)
Cardigan: Lane Bryant
Tights: Catherines
Shoes: Dansko
Necklace & Bracelet: Vintage
Earring: Vintage 80s
Photography: Super Boo & Me (Canon Rebel & iPhone)
I wore this outfit to work. In looking at it now, I wonder...why didn't I wear my orange & black vertical striped socks?? I probably couldn't find them...I'm not the most organized person. I love these flattering Lucie Lu knot dresses, but even though this fabric had my favorite color ORANGE in it, I didn't care for the aztec acid pattern. As always, I needed to size up in this brand for the proper fit.
I love when the wind picks up my skirt just so.

Dog Park Weekend

Dress: Shirred Surplice Dress in Green Apple Shadow Dots by Lands' End (size 3x) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month for $10 & help me earn an extra garment for a month)
Teggings: Re/Dress
Cardigan: Lane Bryant
Sandals: Born
Necklace: Me
 Earring: Wendy Baker
Photography: Super Boo & Me (Canon Rebel & iPhone)
I wore this outfit to go to farmers' market, drop the girlie off at the bus station, & to romp around with Olive at the dog park. This was a great summer Lands' End dress...vibrant green apple with blue dots, the color wasn't quite right for me, so I added a lightweight coral cardigan for this warm fall weekend. GB retired this dress shortly after I had it.
Fabulous pattern on this GB shift dress on Kate, on her way to Chicago to visit her brother.
I wore this Igigi dress from GB the next day, also to go to the dog park. I didn't like the way it looked on me, so it didn't warrant make-up.
Olive romping at the beautiful Verona dog park on Saturday & Sunday. She made lots of friends.
