Elkhorn Antique Flea Market

Dress: Pink Dress in Tropical Palm Print by London Times (size 24) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month free & help me earn GB credit)
Cardigan: Croft & Barrow (size 2x), thrifted
Leggings: Re/Dress
Sandals: Alegria, gift from David
Earring & Necklace: gifts from Wendy Baker
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
I initially wore this dress to go to the first Elkhorn Antique Flea Market of the season...I wore it backwards (accidentally) & with more comfortable walking shoes...the second time I wore it, we took these photos. The pixelation of this pattern hurt my eyes...but I was smitten with the color combination...I like to wear red & pink together. This was a great fit & flare that fit me well...but if there is anything I hate more than a pointless zipper in back...it's one in front.
Real life...my bra straps are probably showing more often than not.
Elkhorn is a fabulous antique market...so much to ooooooo & aaaaahhhh over. I've gone the last few years with Angie & Toby, but David wanted to go with me...which was a wonderful surprise (Angie went too, but she rode with her friend Kate). Here are three items I wish would have come home with us. We actually went back for the door, but it had already sold.
After a long day of antiquing...we discovered a highly rated Mexican restaurant in Elkhorn...this was the most delicious mango margarita I have ever had...& the food was outstanding.
Our find of the day was this gorgeous Bradley & Hubbard oil lamp...I think my eyes popped out of my head when I saw it. It's been converted to electric...we just need to find the proper stunning shade to go with it. More bakelite & lucite colorful bracelets for me!
Looking for bathroom flooring, unsuccessfully. We've been eyeing this cabinet at Deconstruction Inc for a while now & we nabbed it when we saw they put it on sale...it will be a glorious addition to my craft room. Indian buffet...then home to pick out more paint colors for the house.
I stumbled upon this etsy seller on Pinterest while looking for Boho Indian earrings. I contacted her to inquire if she would be willing to make me single earrings...& she was! This picture does not do them justice. I am in love. You can see more of her magnificent work on her etsy shop, Kerala Rose
My make-up with this outfit included...Make Up For Ever Aqua XL waterproof eyeliner in M-10; Anastasia Beverly Hills eyeshadow in Venetian Red, Vermeer, & Primavera; Colorpop eyeshadow in Erotic; Russian Roulette lipstick by NYX; Habanero lipstick from MAC; & OPI nail polish in O'Hare & Nails Look Great.

Yellow, The Color of Happiness

Dress: Sight Seeing Dress in Moma Print by Effie's Heart (size 4x) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month free & help me earn GB credit)
Cardigan: Denim 24/7, thrifted
Teggings: Re/Dress
Sandals: Born
Earring: eBay
Necklace: Wendy Baker
Bracelets: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
I adore Effie's Heart dresses...which is the only reason I tried this dress...the splatter paint print is not really me...but fun to wear a few times. Other than the print, this dress was typical EH fabulous. EH has recently expanded their plus size range & I am thrilled. Another company that offers larger sizes along with the smaller...thank you.
We happened upon this wall while on our way to use another location on the UW campus because David wanted to explore...I love it...but I was wondering the entire time...why is this area so windy? I don't recall it being such a blustery day. We never did figure it out until the next time we came here...it's the rather strong air intake for the building.
Batty bats at my hair salon...getting a much needed cut.
A trip to the beauty supply...how did I leave there with no nail polish?! Sephora Play! May box.

Great vintage garage sale, things I didn't bring home.
Old chippy cart from Deconstruction Inc...we've been admiring these for a while & finally came across one that called out to us...we're going to leave it like this & use it as a coffee table in our rec room. We bought this slab of marble to use as a hearth for our living room fireplace.
Last girlie lunch after our last girlie farmers' market before Kate left to hike the Appalachian Trail. Good Food Low Carb Cafe...I would try it again, but wouldn't get the pancakes.
Fizzeology fermentation class at the library...David & I got to massage cabbage.

The last time I saw the girlie...to shave her head for the trail. She'll be showing up here one more time for our last girlie happy hour. If you'd like to follow her AT adventures, you can find her on Instagram @ kisforkate

Then...I chopped part of my fingernail off while making lunch...right before these photos were taken (I tried my best to hide my bandaid)...not sure why I included this picture.
My make-up with this outfit included...NYX eyeliner in Gypsy Blue; Kat von D eyeshadow in Fran, Legend, & Hyperballad; Dozen Carnations lipstick by MAC, & Aim To Misbehave nail polish by Essie (you'll be seeing this nail polish on me a lot this summer...yellow has become the color of happiness).

Trolley Dress

Dress: Theresa Dress in Trolley Print by Effie's Heart (size 4x) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month free & help me earn GB credit)
Sandals: Dansko
Earring: Babil & Bijou, former etsy shop
Necklace: Me
Bracelets: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
This dress is so adorable...the trolley print & colors, lovely. Great cut & length. It's the first Effie's Heart dress I've had in this style...a true wrap dress...& with the skirt so full...I think this flew over my head at least once before I could grab it. I will probably eventual buy this when it heads to the shop or from the GB reseller gals. EH dresses are cotton & perfect throw it on & go summer dresses.
This dress looked better with the sash tied in back (mostly because I couldn't see it)...
The dress is the same color as my skin, but I was happy to be able to add a little color with my accessories...
To be honest...I am not exactly sure if I wore this dress to wine tasting with Kate...I can't remember that long ago. Some day I'll catch up. Aw, I miss you girlie (I don't think she's reading my blog on the trail). An all bubbles tasting.

Olive! Walking in the dog park after dropping Rye off at doggie daycare...she always looks so happy when she gets to romp around in a huge open space.
Fluevog was having a sale...most of their adorable shoes are heels I can't wear...but these nearly flats in orange & raspberry will get a lot of wear.
Gorgeous maxi dress from SWAK (another sale I couldn't resist)...I wear a 3x in this style & it's still available. Also some earrings from a favorite eBay seller.
I was going to wear this trolley dress to The Shitty Barn to see Margaret Glaspy...however, it was raining & I didn't really feel like leaving the house...so the girlie came to me with wine...she said this dress reminded her of Mr. Rogers...yay! We drank wine, chatted, & she sewed some patches on her backpack.
Savers 50% off sale for Memorial Weekend...Why are those shoes a 7 1/2 & not a 9 1/2?! So cute! David dressed as an Angry Bird...I thought we should buy the hat...but it stayed at the store.
 My first day of finds...
Tony's birthday celebration on a gorgeous day...
Savers sale, day II...the flats were too plain & I didn't feel steady walking in those cute green sandals. Sadness. I spied this cute dress in the parking lot...
These shoes are much improved without the bow...don't you think? My minimal finds on the second day...coral leggings to wear to bed, green & yellow floral purse, black & navy patent leather shoes, & a bikini top.
My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Mildew, Moray eyeliner by Stila, Kat von D eyeshadow in Lemmy, UD eyeshadow in Burnout, NYX eyeshadow palette in Brights, Dozen Carnations lipstick from MAC, & OPI nail polish in Greenwich Green.

Gaelynn Lea at The Shitty Barn

Dress: Riley Dress in French Braid by Leota (size 5L) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month free & help me earn GB credit)
Cardigan: Avenue
Leggings: Lands End
Shoes: Franco Sarto, thrifted
Earring: etXarte
M Necklace: Babil & Bijou, no longer online
Necklace & Bracelet: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo, Kate, & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
I had this Leota fit & flare on priority for months as I was quite smitten with the neutral herringbone pattern...but I was a bit disappointed in it. First of all, this dress seems more a-line than fit & flare...but the deal breaker for me...scattered about the fabulous print is L.ny (for Leota New York). Ugh. I hate wearing clothes that advertise the brand. If it weren't for the L.ny...I would have bought this dress.
As much as I adore color...I LOVE pattern mixing with neutrals...alright, I just like any excuse to break out the leopard print. If pattern mixing scares you...leopard is a great way to dip your toe in...it goes with nearly everything.
This building is close to our office...we popped out to get a quick bite to eat between clients & take some photos. Old brick building with metal stairs! I can't believe we hadn't used this location before.
I wore this outfit out to dinner with David, Angie, & Toby on our way to see Gaelynn Lea at The Shitty Barn. I first heard of Gaelynn last year when she won NPR's Tiny Desk Contest...what an extraordinary voice. She put on a great show.
The second time I wore this dress to work (when these photos were taken) & out to dinner with David...the food was not memorable, but I loved how the ceiling & walls were painted.

Picking up a variety of old bricks at Deconstruction Inc. We have plans for them.

West siiiiide farmers' market with the girlie...we ran away from the downtown market because it was both graduation & Mother's Day weekend...holy buckets! Loads of people.
After market...Nutzy Mutz for doggy treats. Also, L.ny...see how ridiculous that looks?!

The backyard of our new house is covered in garlic mustard...Kate very nicely helped me pull it...but there was so much, we barely made a dent. So, sparkling wine it is...on a lovely day under the apple tree.
I picked my favorite flowers on the way home...mmmmm, lilacs...they smelled so good. Note the dining room wallpaper border...this is the only thing I'm going to miss about this house. I wish I could find just one roll of it to put in the dining room of our new house. I love it...even after 19 years of looking at it.
My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Roach, Make Up For Ever Aqua XL Waterproof Eyeliner in M-10, NYX eyeshadow palette in Warm Neutrals, Tangerine eyeshadow by Make Up For Ever, MAC Liptensity lipstick in Habanero, & OPI nail polish in Living On the Bula-vard!

The Legendary Shack Shakers with Jesse Dayton

I never got photos of this outfit other than the ones Jason took of me & Kate...but this is the one & only Shitty Barn show the girlie & I will go to together this year...so these pictures are perfect. Also, I put this outfit together for a cold spring night...not the way I would have worn it out & about. Unless it was a cold spring night at a concert in a barn.
Aw, girlie...I miss her so. She is gone for 6 months hiking the Appalachian Trail. If you want to follow her adventures, add her on Instagram...kisforkate. She was supposed to be gone for this show, but since her kitty was sick & she postponed it...she was here...so I nabbed a ticket from a guy who couldn't go & surprised her.
Enos Farms just does tacos all the time now...which is fine with me as they are delicious...I had a pork taco. Cute Angie & Toby.
Kate & I braved wine in a can. Backpack wine in a can seemed appropriate for her upcoming trip. Verdict...it was alright. Kate is a wine snob, so I am used to drinking good wine with her now...spoiled.
Full of cuteness...
Alan introducing the first band...Jesse Dayton. Everyone was dressed up because it was Derby Day & apparently that's a thing in Spring Green. I'm not sure why...other than Wisconsin will use any excuse to drink...so that is probably why.
J.D. Wilkes & The Legendary Shack Shakers...we see them whenever they come around...such great energy.
Above photo...note, J.D. is bleeding...but why I took this was because Angie pointed out to me that Marcus Truschinski was standing in the back (white shirt & bow tie)...he's my favorite actor at American Players Theatre...it was just odd to have these two worlds collide.
