Work & Thrifting

Dress: Orchid Fit & Flare Dress by Maison Tara (size 8) via Gwynnie Bee
Sandals: Gap, thrifted
All Jewelry: Colleen Toland
Stats: 5'7" 38-32-42
I liked the shoulder cut-outs & tulip hem on this orchid dress...the fit was good & even though it isn't a great color for me, I like wearing things out of my comfort zone. It's a fine work dress, but I wouldn't wear this out...I would have enjoyed it more in a pattern rather than solid.
It was a terrible time of day for light, so we used this new area of our favorite building...& David moved this bit of metal fence behind me for more interest.
The best part of my outfit...these colorful Gap leopard sandals I found on Poshmark for $9.
I used the shoes & jewelry to add more color...
My make-up with this outfit included...Asphyxia & Double Life eyeliner by Urban Decay; Aster, Agate, & Azalea eyeshadow by Natasha Denona; Big Bang lipliner from UD; Bite Beauty lipstick in Spiced Plum; & OPI nail polish in All Your Dreams in Vending Machines.
Trying on clothes at Vinny's on Willy St.
Salmon & zucchini for dinner.
I'm excited to wear that brown plaid silk skirt this fall. Goodwill 50% off dress=$4!
Goodwill by my house...
More pretties for my closet...

Furniture Delivery!

Dress: Yellow Eyelet Fit & Flare Dress by Eva Rose (size 4x) via Gwynnie Bee
Teggings: Re/Dress
Sandals: Born
Earring: Wendy Baker
Necklace with Pin & Bracelet: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
I rather enjoyed wearing this pretty pastel eyelet dress...it really was an ideal summer ensemble. I've come to rely on Eva Rose to make cute dresses...the way I used to adore Cherry Velvet's summer offerings. The fit & length on this were just right, however, the armholes could have been a touch smaller.
The green in the teggings matched the leaves in the dress exquisitely...I also adored the v-neck back.
I merged this necklace with a floral pin...both of which I picked up for a few dollars at Elkhorn Antique Flea Market...back when we could gather en masse.
My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Loaded; Kat von D eyeshadow in Misfit, Legend, Anthem, & Löve; Big Bang lipstick mixed with Asphyxia eyeliner by UD; & A-England nail polish in Dragon.
A new to me group...Rainbow Girls...discovered on an Americana Music Association FB live event...they were fun. What is happening?! Remember the furniture we ordered down in Georgia last October??? It has been delivered.
I am in love with every piece of it *swoon*...
We took an extraordinary amount of time in the shop looking at fabric samples & putting together just the right ones for us...apparently, the makers liked our choices so much that they took a ridiculous amount of photos.
Oh, the purples & oranges...so many lovely colors.
I know these are terrible photos...however, the dining room is currently my curtain sewing production room. The purple & gold swivel chair below is my new office chair...this is the chair that matched the dining table we bought...but we thought is was a bit too plain for that purpose.
I simply adore that we were able to pick a different fabric for the front, back, & seat of our dining chairs. Pergola progress...picking out a red stain for the cedar.
Sean Hayes Friday night porch party & Carsie Blanton's monthly rent party for the boys in her band.
Angie & Freddie come a-calling, the water edition. His shorts kept falling down...so diaper it is...it was really hot on this day, so I was full of envy...I wanted to be half naked & wet too.
I was quite impressed with how nicely this cord coordinated with the light sage sheer fabric for the dining room. I've been making a practice roman blind this week...it is both going well...& not. In fabulous news...we finally decided on the living room curtain fabrics.

Bo Ramsey

Dress: Keyhole Dress in Pink Lemonade Print by Lands' End (size 3x) via GB Shop
Teggings: Re/Dress
Sandals: Born, thrifted
Earring & Necklace: Wendy Baker
Bracelets: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
This was my first time wearing this dress...I'm fairly certain I got it for $10 through the GB Shop. I rarely pass up a chance to get one of these comfy Lands' End cotton jersey dresses for summer when they're dirt cheap. I also own this dress in lime print...which I NEED to wear again before autumn arrives. This dress is simply summer cute comfort...great fit & length. It also has a matching fabric belt, but I usually choose not to wear belts.
Just the right amount of skimming the body & booty. A little side boob trying to escape below...
Also, my first time wearing these adorable pink flower sandals from Born that I found at Savers...RIP.
My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Delinquent, Kat von D eyeshadow in Löve, Huda Beauty Electric Obsessions eye shadow palette, Disobedient & Big Bang lipstick by UD, & You're the Shade That I Want nail polish from OPI.
I wore this dress to see Bo Ramsey at The Shitty Barn...& met a nice woman named Barb, from Minnesota. I was sure this was my first time seeing him...but I recognized the keyboard player...that's one of the brothers from The Pines! It turns out those brothers are his sons...duh. I knew they had a famous dad.
The very next morning...this shows up in my Timehop from 3 years ago...so, I most certainly had seen him perform before...at the barn with his wife, Pieta Brown. It sucks having such a terrible memory.

I also wore this dress to work, pick up some things from Target that we needed for the house (& use the gift card elly had given us for our wedding), & have dinner at Sal's with David. Their Caesar salad is the best!

Final Elkhorn Flea of the Year

Dress: Round Hem Maxi in Marble Dream by RACHEL Rachel Roy (size 3x) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month free & help me earn GB credit)
Sandals: Born
Earring: eBay
Necklace: Babil & Bijou, former etsy shop
Bracelets: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
One of the reasons I love Gwynnie Bee is they allow me to try things that are out of my comfort zone...if I saw this in a store, I wouldn't even try it on. It took several hours of wearing this dress until I could say...hmmm, I kinda like it...pretty swirling pastels. It fit great, the armholes were the right size, the length was long enough for me to skip the teggings...the only negative thing I can say about it is that I dislike when dresses put the seam right down the middle.
I'd buy this dress if it showed up in the shop...it reminded me of marbleized stationary I used to have in the 80s.
A view from both sides...I nearly always post a left sideview because my right arm is 3 inches larger...
I'm in love with this pastel makeup...
My makeup with this outfit included...Tetra eyeliner by Stila, Stila eyeshadow in Glance & Impulse, NYX Ultimate Palette in Brights, Trinket lipstick from Sugarpill, & OPI nail polish in Next Stop...The Bikini Zone. I had to retake a few makeup/jewelry shots because the Apple store erased a week's worth of photos off my phone. Unhappy.
I wore this dress to go to the final Elkhorn Antique Flea Market of the year. We bought a bunch of doorknobs from our usual guy...I think we might finally have enough for the new house...we'll see. He always has these spectacular architectural elements that I swoon over...
After market...delicious Mexican food. We didn't stay at Elkhorn as long as usual...too hot & sunny...also, we just weren't finding stuff for the house...other than doorknobs...all we brought home was jewelry for me that David helped pick out...

May 1st: My 47th Birthday

Dress: Floral Spot Dress by City Chic (size XXL/24) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month free & help me earn GB credit)
Cardigan: Willow Bay, thrifted
Leggings: Lipstick Traces by Beth Ditto (size 22/24)
Shoes: Me Too, thrifted
Necklace, Earring, & Bracelet: Wendy Baker
Photography: Super Boo, Kate, & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
Someday I will look in the mirror before I leave the house...this was not that day. I actually like this outfit...except for the cardigan...& that really ruins the whole look for me. I have a chartreuse cropped cardigan that would have looked SO much more put together. Oh, well. Also, this City Chic dress was not my favorite...the fabric felt like a shower curtain. Despite all that...I felt cute wearing this for my birthday & the day after.
I was excited to finally wear these Beth Ditto leggings I bought last year...so cute. I'm glad I got them when I did as her shop is closing for a bit...I hope it comes back. I also got her Eat Your Make-up leggings. These leggings are incredibly soft & comfortable with a wide waistband that stays put & doesn't roll.
The quest for a bathroom countertop continues...we liked this lemurian quartzite the best so far. We are still looking for our holy grail...Mermaid Green. We know it exists & must be out there somewhere for us to buy.
Look at this pretty package that just happened to show up on my birthday! Two new earrings from Theresa of etXarte
Girlie birthday dinner! Kate was supposed to be off hiking the Appalachian Trail for six months by my birthday...but her cat got sick, so she stuck around for an extra month. She left last Sunday & I miss her terribly, but hope she has a wonderful time. Six months!
Delightful cocktails & scrumptious food at Heritage Tavern. Their deviled eggs are divine, but those bacon wrapped fried cheese curds are quite tasty as well.
The next day...David & I drove to Milwaukee to look at granite for countertops...the guy we'd been talking to the day before sent a photo of what we were looking for to this shop & it looked like they might have our Mermaid Green. They had an amazing selection & so many gorgeous slabs...not the one we wanted...but one that came so very close that we put a hold on it (the center pic). Check out all those greens! Every place we've gone has had next to no green available.
Lunch & then on to check out the Milwaukee ReStore. This light fixture came home with us. It is gigantic...we don't really have a place for anything that large...but are going to try to make it work in our enormous walk-in closet. This Re/Store gets a bunch of floor models of lighting from a nearby shop...we looked this one up & it is still being sold online for the discounted price of $4,000...I think we paid $50. That couch! I was really hoping it was comfortable as it would be perfect in the rec room of our new house...but the back is super short & didn't offer any support...so there it stayed.
My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeshadow in Alchemy, Gossip, Jones, Goldmine, Calavera, & Mean; Habanero lipstick by MAC; & J'Adore My Mani nail polish by Morgan Taylor.
