Cabernet Wine Tasting

Dress: Luxe Jacquard Botanical Green Circle Dress by Leota (size 4L) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month free & help me earn GB credit)
Pants: Torrid (size 5x) Ponte Stretch Pull-On Pixie Crop Pant
Socks: Sock Dreams
Shoes: Clarks Artisan
Earring: etXarte
Necklace: Wendy Baker
Bracelet: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo, Kate, & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
We started out taking photos by the building opposite the gorgeous Science Hall (built in 1888) on the UW campus...but those lovely red bricks cast such a warm glow on me that we had better luck underneath them.
These Leota Circle dresses would be perfect if they'd stop making the shoulders for a linebacker (I don't even know what a linebacker is)...however, when you cover them with a cardigan = perfection. This green was such a pretty color & imagine my delight when I had a pair of shoes that matched *perfectly*.
This is my first time wearing these Ponte Pants from Torrid...I LOVE them. I wasn't sure if I should get a 4 or a 5...the 5 fits great, but I think I could have gone either way. I got them on sale last year & I wish I had gotten the purple plaid too (I immediately stopped writing here & went to eBay to find them...I found a 4x, I think they'll fit just fine).
I am not a fan of these black socks with this outfit...now that I see them in photos...but it was a bit too cold to go without socks. I wonder what I could have done differently? Perhaps a polka dot pattern?
My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Overdrive; UD eyeshadow in Big Sky, Stranded, Hell Ride, & Radio; NYX Liquid Suede lipstick in Cherry Skies; & Black Metal Dahlia nail polish by Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics.
I wore this dress on a Saturday to go to farmers' market with the girlie (who is climbing a mountain of snow to get into my car...I offered to pull up)...then home to finished getting ready for Cabernet wine tasting. I was considering wearing the polka dot leggings with this dress, but when I asked Kate...she didn't like the red with green...so of course I went with that.
Cabernet with David & Kate!
And a dog...& food...
This was my favorite of the evening...a bottle from St. Supéry that Kate brought. David & I visited that winery years ago in Napa because Kate liked it so much.
Baby babysitting! Where I definitely didn't wear this outfit. But, cute. We got to spend several hours with this adorable niblet...he's so happy & fun to be around. Also, he told his parents who he was on day 1...middle finger in the air.
Freddie enjoyed watching the Yellow Submarine video & listening to the lullaby station on Apple Music. And his fingers.

Jim Jefferies

Dress: Scoop Neck Plaid Fit & Flare Dress by Melissa Masse (size 4x) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month free & help me earn GB credit)
Cardigan: Rafaella, thrifted
Tights: We Love Colors in Yellow
Boots: Doc Martens
All Jewelry: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
I adored this well-made Melissa Masse dress...the plaid pattern with shots of yellow sunshine through it, the fit, length, & twirl...it was perfection. The fabric is substantial with 3/4 sleeves & would be a great dress to wear when the temperature is 60s & below. I'm hoping this dress comes back to live with me someday because there are so many styling possibilities.
Shiny red boots...how happy I am that I found you!
This is my first time wearing all of this jewelry...trying not to get stuck in a rut with just my go-to favorites...
My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Perversion, Too Faced eyeshadow in Crème Brûlée & Marzipan, Yellow Huda Beauty eyeshadow from the Electric Obsession palette, NYX lipstick in Perfect Red, & Little Red Wagon nail polish by OPI.
I wore this outfit to travel to Milwaukee with David to see our current favorite comedian, Jim Jefferies. Our previous favorite comedian, Louis CK, did not work out so well. We believe in you, Jim! The beautiful Riverside Theatre...
The best part of the night was when a crazy lady from the audience gave him a hat she knit for him...spontaneous funniness is the best...& she gave him a lot to work with. I got a few compliments on my outfit & one for my laugh. Ha!
Gratuitous cute baby photo...taken while I was not wearing this outfit, but the day before.

Hater's Roast: The Shady Tour 2019

Dress: Navy & Pink Floral Print Fit & Flare Dress by Eva Rose (size 4x) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month free & help me earn GB credit)
Cardigan: Lands End (size 3x)
Tights: We Love Colors in Royal
Shoes: The Gap, thrifted
Glasses: LaFont
Earring & Necklace: Wendy Baker
Bracelets: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
Another lovely frock from Eva Rose...this brand is my replacement Cherry Velvet. They make their dresses from the same kind of cotton & have a nice fit & flare shape. Cherry Velvet is no longer making size 4x, so I'm happy to have an alternative. Like CV, these dresses are better suited for summer...so the last two I've gotten from GB...I purchased & will wear them when the weather gets warm.
Another cold & blustery day...so inside the library we went. We tried a few different locations on the third floor.
The light is still best in front of my favorite bookend art installation.
We picked up my new glasses right before these photos...I bought these LaFont frames online over a decade ago...
I also picked up some new contacts.
My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Abyss, Tarte Rainforest of the Sea palette, Ready? lipstick from UD, Winterberry lipstick by Bite Beauty, Blue Sparrow nail polish from China Glaze, & OPI nail polish in Can't Hear Myself Pink!
I wore this outfit to go out with David to see some of our favorite drag queens...Miz Cracker & Jinx Monsoon.
We had excellent seats. We thought they would do a bit of lip syncing along with the roast...but they just talked.
And did an outfit change. And ate food & drank. Mónet X Change & Alyssa Edwards were supposed to be there, but Mónet left to be in a Madonna video & Alyssa lost a veneer on her tooth & went home. Poor Miz Cracker was so stressed out by this tour she fell off the wagon after several years of sobriety. Parts of the show were funny, but it really could have used some song & dance. But, pretty outfits...

Romanesco, Brunch, & Wine

Dress: Honeycomb Jacquard Circle Dress by Leota (size 4L) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month free & help me earn GB credit)
Cardigan: Torrid (size 4x), thrifted
Leggings: Woman Within (size 2x), thrifted
Boots: Fluevogs
Earring: etXarte
Necklace: Wendy Baker
Bracelets: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo, Kate, & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
I'm in love with this two tone pink polka dot fit & flare dress! Great shape, length, fit...perfection. Polka dots seem to be everywhere right now...but the pinks really make this dress pop. These Circle Dresses from Leota are one of my favorites...I will buy this if it comes to the GB shop.
I know these Fluevog boots from the 90s are well worn...but  sometimes they're just right for putting a bit of grunge into an outfit.
Somewhere I have a vintage black & white polka dot lucite bracelet...but luckily I couldn't find it...since I ended up adding stripes instead.
My make-up with this outfit included...NYX eyeliner in Jet Black; Too Faced eyeshadow in Totally Fetch, Cotton Candy, Black Currant, & Molasses Chip; NYX lipliner in Fuchsia; Winterberry lipstick by Bite Beauty; NYX Cosmic Metals lipstick in Fuchsia Fusion; & Pompeii Purple nail polish from OPI.
Romanesco broccoli time! This is a photo of the romanesco I brought Maggie last summer....my farmers' market tattoo is coming along...
The next morning at brunch with the girlie...& a corpse reviver...
Brunch after market with Kate is the BEST...even if she scorns my delicious cheese curds...
Don't you want to try this B'Rose? Those bros look so happy together. Wine tasting with my girlie...

Shiny Shiny Red Docs

Dress: Floral Crepe Flounce Hem Dress by Taylor Dresses (size 24) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month free & help me earn GB credit)
Cardigan: North Crest (size 2x), thrifted
Tights: We Love Colors in Royal?
Boots: Dr. Martens
Earring: Wendy Baker
Necklace: A Luscious Thing
Bracelets: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
I nearly didn't wear this dress because it was tighter than I wanted it to be...but I decided to give it a go for a few hours at work. The bright colors popping out from the black were welcome during this cold long winter. This dress fit like a size 24 (which it was), but Taylor Dresses are typically more generously cut & are just right for my size 26/28 body...this one was not.
Despite the dress being too tight for me, I really enjoyed the outfit I put together...especially wearing these red Docs for the first time. I bought them years ago, new off eBay...then they got lost in the old house. But...I finally cut the tags off & took them out. Shiny.
I wore this dress to work & for photos at the library (because, cold!)...then I went home & mailed it back to Gwynnie Bee.
My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Abyss; Too Faced eyeshadow in Creme Brûlée, Champagne Truffle, & Marzipan; The red eyeshadow in the Huda Beauty Electric Obsessions palette; Perfect Red lipstick by NYX; & You Make Me Vroom nail polish from OPI.
