Leopard Tights

Dress: Mini Dot Black & Fuchsia Dress by Gabby Skye (size 24) via Gwynnie Bee
Cardigan: Merona (size XXL), thrifted
Shoes: Nine West, thrifted
Earring: Kerala Rose
Necklace: Green Goddess
Bracelet: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-70
The colors & print on this dress were lovely...black with monochromatic polka dots & blurred flowers in purples, moss green, & burnt orange. The fit & length were great, the material had no stretch, but there was elastic at the waist. Light weight dress that is not lined...probably best for spring or fall. Conservative v-neck would be a good choice for work. For once, I did not mind the high-low hem as the back of the fabric was as pretty as the front.

I considered floral cardigans & shoes...but went with leopard print

for some pattern mixing.

I believe this was my first wearing of this bracelet...not sure why, as I don't have a ton of purple jewelry.

My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Psychedelic Sister, Catherine & Egypt eyeshadow from Kat von D, UD Vice liquid lipstick in Flashback, & OPI nail polish in Feel the Chemis-tree.
The fun portion of my Snag order arrived...leopard tights in both purple & red...plus rainbow stripped fishnets & plum argyle print. Glenn Crytzer playing songs from 1929.
My monthly Boxy Charm...I keep thinking I should cancel again because I get SO much skin care that I don't want...but then this month was totally worth it for the Bali Balm in sweet orange & coconut. I'm not sure I'd spend over $30 for lip balm...but it's a lovely luxury vegan option. However, bergamot & grapefruit and sandalwood & ginger both sound amazing. More Fluevogs. Don't judge me...they were on sale & I can't stop buying things to make me happy. And yes, I know *things* don't make you happy...but during the pandemic, they help. These shoes represent a happy life in the future where I can leave the house & go places AND not have knee pain so I am able to wear heels. It will happen. A farmers' market meal...cheddar bacon brats with roasted kale...nice & crisp.
Planet Earth, David Bowie Birthday edition. There was an adorable video of Bowie & Annie Lennox rehearsing Under Pressure for a Freddie Mercury tribute concert & George Michael was watching from offstage & he knew all the words.

Haircut! What?!

Dress: Sunset Floral Print Crepe Fit & Flare Dress by Gabby Skye (size 24) via Gwynnie Bee
Shoes: Nine West, thrifted
Earring & Bracelet: Wendy Baker
Necklace: A Luscious Thing (former Etsy shop)

I was in LOVE with this beautiful dress...the colors! Orange, various purples, & burgundy flowers made this the perfect autumnal floral dress. The asymmetrical hemline was adorable & so were the ruffle-y sleeves. The fit was spot on & look at that cute cutout in back. This dress had no stretch, so I was surprised it fit me in a size 24.
We really lucked out finding these gorgeous hydrangeas still in such good shape...we've had a few frosts already...it was a lovely backdrop for this outfit.
I felt pretty on this day...perhaps because I finally got a HAIRCUT! My first since February.
My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in 1999, Huda Beauty eyeshadow palette in Ruby Obsessions & Amethyst Obsessions, Mahogany lipliner by EstÄ“e Lauder, NYX Simply Red lip cream in Knock Out, & Hollywood & Wine nail polish from OPI.
My stylist, Sigrid, went out on her own...so I thought the risk would be smaller than when she was at a bigger salon...so a haircut...& a Tamara de Lempicka on the stairway. A video chat with the girlie! And day 2 of the Champaign-Urbana Folk & Roots Festival.
Some of the highlights from day 2 included...Southwest Watson Sweethearts, Hot Club of Cowtown, The Sapsuckers, & Nikki D & the Browns. Kate & I were supposed to see Hot Club of Cowtown earlier this year...performing with Davina, doing songs from WWII. I also listened to a couple of Halloween DJ sets online, including one from DJ cypher.

Purple Passion

Dress: Deep Purple Floral Knit Maxi Dress by Gabby Skye (size 4x) via Gwynnie Bee
Sandals: Born, thrifted
Earring: Kerala Rose
Necklace & Bracelet: Vintage

I am in love with this dress...it is most definitely one of my favorite dresses I've ever gotten from GB. The shade of purple was spectacular...but it was the fit that really got me. If I had a pattern for this dress...I'd make it over & over again. Perfection...I wouldn't change a thing (well, perhaps it could have been a few inches longer).
This was our first visit to Olbrich Gardens this year...it was so lovely. And how perfect was this backdrop of two different blackish purple plants?! I need to find out what the taller ones were & if I could keep them alive at home (doubtful). After we took pictures...we sat on this new retaining wall & finished reading RBG's obituary in NYT.
So, none of this jewelry really goes together...but I liked it all anyway...
My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Perversion, Huda Beauty Amethyst Obsessions eyeshadow palette, Grape lipliner by MAC, Homegirl lipstick from Kat von D, & OPI nail polish in I Sing In Color.
My monthly Boxy Charm, Glam Vibes Only. Tracey painting a big porch pot. And my latest order from Artistic Painting Studio...foil to use on our closet mirror & resin to make a glitter top on my vanity.
My first Pop Polish order...& David unpacked all the boxes of Kate's wine & made more racks for the Bomb Cellar..these are two layers thick...over 1,000 bottles of wine. Too bad we only drink about once a month.
The final, (surprise!) girlie visit before her surgery...she sent me the most hilarious before shot of her boobs, but I guess I can't share it here.
I was in *desperate* need of more lipsticks...

Forage & The Harmaleighs

Dress: Printed Color Block Scuba Fit & Flare Dress by Gabby Skye (size 24) via Gwynnie Bee
Teggings: Re/Dress
Sandals: Clarks, thrifted
Earring: etXarte
Black/Gold Necklace & Bracelet: Vintage
Magnifying Glass Necklace: former Etsy shop

Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
The pattern on this dress reminded me of Spirograph, so I adored it...& those shades of burgundy were so pretty. The fit & length were spot on, but the armholes were larger than necessary. The skirt had a great flare. Being scuba fabric, it was a tad heavy...I would have preferred to wear this dress on a colder day with a cardigan & tights.
I have a lot of jewelry, but for some reason...this dress stumped me...so I stuck to basic black & gold.
I'm in love with my eyeshadow here...
My make-up with this outfit included...NYX eyeliner in Oxblood; Urban Decay eyeshadow in Bang Bang, Drunk Dial, & Young Love; Dubonnet Amplified lipstick from MAC; & Hollywood & Wine nail polish by OPI.
I wore this dress to have dinner with the girlie on a Monday after work. We ate outside at Forage & it was lovely...their combination salad & grain bowls are delightfully delectable.
After dinner we headed over to High Noon Saloon to wait for the doors to open...& watched about a dozen people walk by with pool cues in various sorts of cases.
I often polish my nails in the car right before driving somewhere...so they have a chance to dry. I was going to put a coat of this blackened burgundy shade on, but the brush had disappeared! I've never seen this before...so, mismatched orange nails had to stay. However, I did manage to paint them before David & I took pictures of this outfit on another day.
Kate & I were surprised they didn't have tables set up in front of the stage for this show as they often do during the week...so up in the balcony we went. The Harmaleighs were fabulous...I was so worried that the ladies would break up & no more band...but after 6 years of dating...they've kept the band together through their romantic breakup a year ago. Yay! Also, another early show for us as they were the opening band...after their set, we bought their vinyl & went home.
New Book Book for my new iPhone. After several months of waiting...they've started our concrete project...2 slabs in back for a workshop David is going to build, a backyard patio with a fire pit, & up front...driveway, walkway, & patio. They are working on it right now as I type this...it is soooo beautiful.
Freddie! Along with an amazing drink Angie made with brandy & fresh apple cider that she reduced...& a yummy dinner.

Pink Polka Dots & Bubbles

Dress: Polka Dot Scuba Fit & Flare Dress by Gabby Skye (size 24) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month free & help me earn GB credit)
Cardigan: Charter Club Woman (size 2x), thrifted
Teggings: Re/Dress
Boots: Steve Madden
Earring: etXarte
Necklace: Wendy Baker
Bracelets: Vintage

I love a polka dot dress. It may be difficult to see in photos, but the dots on this dress are a whisper of blush...which is why I paired it with pink in hopes of bringing that out more. The fit & length on this dress were spot on...& the scuba fabric held me like a hug & gave the skirt enough structure to poof out a bit...extra pleating at the waist also helped with that. The only thing I would ding this dress on is the seam down the middle...I never like the way that cuts up the pattern. Otherwise, 10/10.
We Love Colors offers a fantastic selection of colors for their tights, however, they don't have a great selection of pinks (either too light or too purple)...so I wore teggings with boots.
I got a haircut, which I desperately needed...
My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Love Drug; Spiked Eggnog, Gumdrop, & Hot Toddy eyeshadow by Too Faced; Fuchsia Fusion Lip Cream from NYX; & OPI nail polish in Can't Hear Myself Pink!
I first wore this dress to the January edition of Wasted: Bubbles, my favorite. So much tasty food & sparkly wine. I also met the chick who made the documentary, Old Fashioned: The Story of the Wisconsin Supper Club. She & her husband just moved here from Chicago. Lindsay made some delicious food...including this dip with kimchi in it. The photo of Kate below was taken just after she was licking her plate.
I was in a hurry to get out of the house...so I threw on this pink & white striped cardigan, even though I knew it wasn't quite right (too summery)...but I later found the pink dotty one & was ecstatic. Aw, look...the girlie petting Jason.
The wines were put outside after they were poured & brought back in at the end of the evening...many of them were slushy...yum.
Some vintage jewelry acquired on eBay...
Sephora Play! box, some new nail polishes, & a hair cut with Gen.
Oh, the coldness of it all...woke up on Wednesday a week & a half ago...to -25° (-48° with windchill)...so of course we had to try throwing boiling water into the air...poof, disappeared...
The ever adorable Freddy...with a bear on his butt...
