I wore this outfit to the revival of our girlie crafty night. The minute I saw this dress I was in love! Limes! I love citrus & thought this pattern was just so fun & cheerful. When I finally got it, the material was not quite what I was expecting. The Zombie Pac Man dress was the same style, but the fabric was a much thicker rayon jersey. The lime dress is pima cotton/rayon...which makes sense for a summer dress. My concern is that it won't hold up as well in washing & will pill easily. My solution: never wash it! Alright...hand wash, line dry. I immediately bought this dress (as well as a matching lime print cardigan). I was the first person to get it & it needed to be mine forever. It's flattering & comfortable & look! Lands' End knows how to make appropriately sized arm holes for fat chicks...meaning...you can't see my bra through them. Also, can you really look at me in this dress & not smile?!

Years ago, we had a girlie crafty group called The Gothic Ladies Quilting Circle & Badass Society. We met once a week at various members homes, crafted, chatted, laughed, nibbled, & drank wine or other libations. It went on for years...then eventually the interest dwindled. We are all older now & not so very gothy, but we missed our girlie time so we started anew.
My project for the 1st meeting of our freshly formed group, Lady Magpie's Wine & Crafts Soiree, was sorting these squares & other bits of fabric I got for free at the Re-Art Swap. This is only the smallest portion of it. My intention is to make myself a patchwork skirt based on crazy quilting. The biggest hurdle in my way...I've never quilted before.
My talented friend, Jane, Blackbird Marmalade Creations, made me this charming Goblin (whose name I have already forgotten!) & gave it to me at crafty night. Teeth!!
I loved this orange & green make-up combination...Sugarpill Acidberry shadow & Nars Mediteranee eyeshadow duo, along with MAC Korean Candy on my lips. Alys Dream Polish in Sweet Orange is on my nails (a gift from my friend Amy).
Super Boo surprised me a year or 2 ago with this set of jewelry from the lovely Wendy. It was the one time Facebook with its stalking ways was a good thing. Wendy had posted a photo of this necklace & I commented on how much I adored it & it popped up in Boo's feed. And that adorable sweetheart got in touch with Wendy & not only bought the necklace for me...but a matching bracelet & the ever so kind Wendy threw in the earrings. Love.

  2. Just found your blog and absolutely love it. I'm a 40 year old professor (and single mom) who has been looking for fashion ideas, especially since I'm a 26/28. Your blog is great for this!
