Pretty, well-fitting work dress...I especially liked the smocked sleeves, all the colors, & the way the waistline came up into a 'v' & gathered under the bust...it was very figure enhancing. I wouldn't call this a midi, but otherwise...great dress. 

The pattern in this dress reminded me of petals or leaves...so I went with flower sandals. Have you noticed I have a thing for flower sandals...doesn't everyone have a collection?!

New Fluevogs! Sandals from the sale & used from the Fluemarket...

My first fail from Poshmark...I bought this Effie's Heart "dress" & it was a tunic...they don't make mini dresses. 29" is not a dress on *me*. To be fair, they did state the item was 30", but I didn't pay attention to that as all their dresses are a similar length. In the end, Poshmark ruled that I got to keep the item & both the seller & I got to keep our money. I've been really happy with both buying & selling on there. 

Another walk in nature...we took a bunch of them in 2 different sections of nearby Cherokee Marsh...but here are a few from a sunset stroll. Buying our favorite salad olive oil from Vom Foss.

New sandals from Poshmark. Look! 4 new pairs of shoes & not a flower in sight. New sheets & blankets from Riley...sooo nice. And an online class (that was not that informative) for credits.

I adore these well fitting sweetheart dresses from Leota. They are more suited for work, as they are on the conservative side...but I often wear them out. I wouldn't change a thing about them. 

I'm not sure what I'll do when these teggings no longer fit me...it blows my mind that they are so stretchy...they are getting a bit baggy at the bottoms though. Snag makes some excellent footless tights, but there are not so many colors to choose from. Change is good, right?

This is my first time wearing these blue sandals...I got them 2 sizes smaller & they fit great. I had picked up my last pair for a few dollars at Savers & they were a size too big on me at the time, however, I don't think of myself as wearing blue a lot...but after black, it's the color that appears most in my blog, so...

I first wore this dress to work & the Wednesday market...I am quite happy, but I make terrible faces. Lovely green Fluevog: Hi-Choice Jennifer, found on Poshmark. 

Our first real Kimchi from an Asian market...up to this point, we've been buying white people kimchi...this stuff was bubbling & making noises when I opened it. Butter shrimp with kimchi & roasted zucchini for lunch. A trip to Fraboni's to get pasta. Our moth friend hung out on the porch with us for a few days, then was gone. It was an Imperial Moth, according to Google. Butterflies get all the ooo's & aahh's, but I think moth's are often much more beautiful. 

At Meat People Butcher...I had to send this photo to David because I couldn't remember which one we like...it's the rosemary & olive oil. On a kimchi kick...I tried making a salmon salad mixed with it mixed in...it was good.  

A walk in nature...

David & I are trying to go on more walks where we are surrounded by beauty.

Dinner party for 5...I made a simple heirloom tomato salad with basil, olive oil, & balsamic. This bread from Batch! I went in looking to buy one of their Epi de blé (baguette shaped like a chaff of wheat that is pretty & breaks off nicely), but they've changed their recipe & haven't been able to get it to work with that shape...so the helpful woman behind the counter suggested these amazing cheese ficelle...demi- baguette rolled with Pecorino Romano...my new favorite bread. Josh showed up with ingredients for amazing cocktails...& we had just the right vintage glasses.

For our meal, I based the menu on what was in season at market...I made garlic scape pistachio pesto on fusilli giagante, with peas & grilled whole shrimp...I love the heads; grilled steak with chimichurri (my first attempt & I am so glad I wrote the recipe down so I can recreate it); & a raspberry tart with a pistachio crust that was a bit of a disaster (the filling didn't set). 

Before the pandemic, I'd been buying myself fresh flowers every week...then the price went up & I stopped. I picked up some flowers at market on Sunday before our dinner party...& I've been getting them again ever since. I wore this dress again to Wednesday market, to see our trainer, & then meet Kate at Concerts on the Square. 

I got there early to get us a spot & wander...I walked all around the capitol...people watching & reading restaurant menu offerings.  

Waiting for the girlie...oh, look! It's me & the girlie! I've wanted to try La Taguara for years...but I'd rather have the best first impression & eat it fresh at their restaurant. Kate brought us some wine, sugar snap peas, & blueberries to munch on. 

Adorable girlie in an octopus jumpsuit. The theme for the night was Reflections on Liberty, featuring a world premiere by their composer in residence, Dr. Bill Banfield, entitled "Testimony of Tone, Tune, & Time", inspired by the writings of Frederick Douglass. They also performed my favorite, Carmina Burana. It was a lovely night with my bezzer...perfect weather, many doggies, a girl in a mushroom dress, a topless woman...& Kate finally saw a guy in hootchie daddy shorts.

I wore this dress back in April in one size larger (this one fits great)...even though it's more of a warm weather frock...& I have to say, I styled it better the first time. I love this pattern so much, but as I pointed out in my previous post, these are clearly luna moths & not butterflies. Cute cotton fit & flare with pockets. 

I should have gone with all burgundy & green accessories...the blue I chose is just the wrong shade...but does make it lighter & brighter for summer. 

We took these photos at The Shitty Barn right before heading over to APT...the light must have been just right as I appear to be glowing...or perhaps it was because I was with my 2 favorite people.

I first wore this dress on a Saturday in July to go to the relocated farmers' market with David...

Then we headed to the capitol...where Art Fair on the Square was taking up the farmers' market space for the weekend. This art fair is something David & I look forward to every year. The first thing that caught his eye was the incredible craftsmanship of this rocker...he talked to the woodworker for a while & made him tear up. Unfortunately, it is not our style, so there is no place for it in our home. The octopus & elephant got my attention...but were not quite right for me. 

First purchase of the day...2 hats from a Madison maker...I had seen her at shows before, & with all the walks we've been taking...I really needed a hat with a chinstrap to keep it on my head in the wind...now I have a pretty one! I immediately replaced the hat I was wearing with the one on the right. I loved Artifacts by Nomad's stunning light creations...& marvelous displays. 

Fantastic vinyl creations by Deadwax Art. I'd love something by him when we finally get the wreck room finished...perhaps Billie Holiday?

I want a HUGE sunhat...hat envy. David played with this weighted hanging chess board...& Mrs. Peacock in the Conservatory with a Knife by Laura Harris. The artist who did our gypsy lady painting we bought last year also did the painting below with the dogs & animals. 

I got to meet Heather Renaux in person! We nearly purchased this original mermaid painting...but I really felt if it wasn't hung in our bathroom, there is no other place it fits in...& Day of the Dead stuff is not David's thing. I have several of her circus themed prints hanging in my make-up/jewelry room. Thomas Leather had some gorgeous purses that I adored...& a belt that David needed. 

I ended up taking this Black Eyed Susan hand carved & painted bag home...close enough to sunflowers...& David got the colorful belt, 3rd one from the top. And shortly after, we came across another leather artisan & David got 4 more belts. 

How cute is this dress with built in shorts?! Sunflowers & Jellyfish. Another lovely dress seen around the square. 

David has art by Jay Long in his office at home...so we always have to peek to see if there is anything new. I tried on several large silk shawls by Heather Laurie before deciding on one in greens & browns...it was our last purchase of the day. We didn't find as much as years past, but we both got some lovely art to wear. Tired cuties. 

We had special ordered some Argentinian Red Shrimp from Berke & Benham that were ready to be picked up...heads & all...yum.

Purses...this is my 3rd from Mohop...they are beautiful & the perfect size for a crossbody to wear walking around or to concerts. I got a peacock (duo chrome purple/blue) one at last year's art fair, then David had them custom make me another purple one in a much larger size...now I've got this duo chrome green (they call it scarab)...there is also a ruby/rust color that I need...then I've got all my outfits covered. 

Later that same day...I went to APT with David & Kate to see The River Bride. I made us an olive oil poached salmon with fennel & citrus on an all local seasonal salad & David concocted a rhubarb dressing. Kate brought the perfect picnic Michigan sparkling wine to drink, of course. 

This was a lovely day for a picnic with people I love.

The first of the Door County cherries made the ideal dessert on a splendid summer's day. Kate wearing the dress I wore to Them Coulee Boys (the exact dress since she let me borrow hers).

The night was excellent for an outdoor play, but ours was inside...made to look like outside on the river. David took a picture from above of Kate & I in the front row...right where I like to be. We liked, but did not love this play. Driving home...lots of pretty fireworks.
