All the vibrant colors made me happy...& in an unusual color combination. The fit & length were great. Another go anywhere summer maxi from Farm Rio...I liked showing off a bit of midriff skin...but I made sure to liberally sunblock that lily white area. This was my first time wearing these sandals I found on Poshmark...I typically don't care for cork heels...but these are printed with flowers...which makes all the difference. I wish I could draw...I'd buy a bunch of cork platforms & cover them in pretty petals. It's so funny...I haven't worn this necklace in about a year...& I paired it with 2 dresses in a row. This necklace is currently in the capable hands of her creator being made a bit smaller. My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner & eyeshadow in Mildew, Huda Beauty Neon palette, Bang lipliner & lipstick from UD, & OPI nail polish in Santa Monica Beach Peach. David gets in front of the camera...The cutest couple...& best of all, David makes me laugh...*all* the time AND he thinks I'm funny. The first time I wore this outfit...cocktails at Dark Horse while waiting for a table next door at Sal's. Mickey Sunshine was playing that night...I would have stayed if I didn't have other plans. A seat at Sal's...just in time to have a quick bite...Beef Carpaccio & Chicken Wings before walking across the street to see RuPaul's Werq The World. We left before the show was over...I think we've decided these big extravaganzas are no longer for us. One queen at a time. The second time I wore this dress was on the last full day of the girlie vacation in Traverse City...where I got up in time to see the sun rise over Lake Michigan. Kate tried on a few of the dresses I brought with me...we are close enough in size that we can share clothes, even if they are a size too big on her. A morning stroll on the beach...Kate let me use her umbrella for protection. Dragon! I need a pool toy collection...I'm going to work on that for next summer. An adorable pile of ducklings. Our first stop of the day...brunch at Benedict. We waited an hour for a table (to be expected on a Sunday), but then waited another hour for food. We had a great waitress & at the end she said she talked to her manager & took something off the bill for our long wait. I looked...didn't see it...oh, there it is...60¢...1 penny a minute. Breakfast was delicious, I got a Northerner Benedict (house buttermilk biscuit, crispy bacon, tomato cherry jam, poached eggs, hollandaise, chives) & it was quite tasty...& I was especially fond of those crispy smashed potatoes. Kate got...Root Vegetable Hash...I think. Luckily we gave ourselves significant time for breakfast & were still able to make it to our Mawby tour on time. I'm not sure what we'd drink at picnics all summer long if not for Mawby...or all year round. Kate has been a member of their wine club for ~10 years & I am a very lucky girl that she shares so many of these sparkling bottles with me. It's a gorgeous day for a vineyard tour...Our tour guide was really nice & knowledgable...& I've forgotten nearly everything he told us...but it was a lovely time. Look at those little grapes! We stopped several times on our walk to drink some of these grapes offerings. 
What a spectacular view! I think grape vines are so pretty...I wish we had rolling hills of these here in Wisconsin...instead, we are surrounded by corn & cows...which has its own appeal.

After the tour, we (there was one other couple) sat at a picnic table outside & sipped more bubbles. David had requested I pick up 2-3 cases while at Mawby...but I thought 1 was plenty. Kate helped me pick 12 bottles...it was hard because they are all SO good. 
There were a few more wineries Kate wanted to visit, so off we went to Bel Lago...where we were greeted by live music, yay! And only one other table of people...what?! Perhaps Sundays aren't as busy because people are heading home...or in church...or something. 
Another pleasing view...we were surrounded by flowers & could see Lake Michigan. Best glass holder...shaped like the Leelanau peninsula. 
I am quite sure we enjoyed the wine here, but I am positive I enjoyed the guitar player & his 70s tunes. 
Our final wine tasting stop, Laurentide. What a great logo & I recognized it from bottles Kate has opened for us. And again, only one other table of people. 
Kate brought along a journal to write tasting notes in. So lush & green! After all that wine...dinner at Martha's Leelanau Table Cafe...it was in a cute little house with a gorgeous outdoor patio. 
Dogs were allowed outside, but sadly, there were none. We began the meal with a special, fried green tomatoes...which I love. They were tasty, but not quite as good as my memory of the fried green tomato BLT that I had in Tennessee. 
And more magical live music...this group played a lot of Django Reinhardt & were a splendid accompaniment to our dining experience. 
The table behind Kate were friends with the owner/chef, Martha...so we got to see her when she came out to chat...I like to see who is behind the food. 
For dinner, Kate ordered Vegan Shepards Pie (onions, mushrooms, celery, carrots, parsnip, peas, & Cannellini beans in a dijon wine broth & topped with truffle garlic mashed potatoes...I had Walleye (Parmesan & panko encrusted walleye filet topped with an asparagus tarragon sauce & sautéed mushrooms). I should have ordered the Lobster Wellington I was curious about...I'm sure there was a reason...probably potato related. It was an enjoyable last meal on our vacation that was coming to a close. Back at our hotel...a sunset swim. 
As we were next to Lake Michigan during our entire trip, I took photos of the sun setting every night. I grew up on Lake Superior & forgot how beautiful a sunset over water is...& so different each evening.
