Lane Bryant generously sent me this lace dress that I picked out for a lookbook that Marcy did on size 22+ bloggers. I chose to feature it on her 40+ Blogger Series instead, which is up on the Plus Model Magazine blog each Tuesday, here's mine. I adore this dress. There was a time in my life I dressed mostly in black, however, you know I'm more about the color now, but this dress was just so adorable. I love how soft the lace is, the polka dot pattern, lovely fit & flare feminine silhouette, unlined capped sleeves, v-back, & of course...the tulle trim peeking out at the hem.
I winterized this dress a bit, adding eggplant boots & a sequined cardigan...but following these updated photos are ones that David took of me last summer.
The above sequin & velvet jacket is by City Chic via Gwynnie Bee. It was only worn here to get a photo of it on me. It was incredibly heavy & boxy. I shared this photo on The Girls of GB & someone cleverly noted that it gave off a Liza Minelli vibe & it was up to you to decide if that was positive or negative. Spot. On.
I got Kate & I tickets to see The Phantom of the Opera for her birthday...but first, sushi at Red. That seaweed salad was delicious...it all was. And...a silly video I took in the ladies room, disco bathroom...
Badly lit after dinner photo & the outside of Red's building.
The Phantom of the Opera (you can't read that without singing it, right?)...neither of us had seen this play since the early 90s. I saw it in Chicago with my mom & twice with Shane (I think it was my birthday present to him too). It was always amazing, but now...it is even more spectacular.
The chandelier shattered all over the audience...even up close it looked like real glass, but it was rubbery & disintegrated when I rolled it between my fingers.
My make-up with this outfit included...NYX eyeliner in Deep Purple; Urban Decay eyeshadow in Mildew, Freakshow, & Goldmine; NYX lip palette in The Plums; Aubergine lipstick by Bite Beauty; & OPI nail polish in Have You Seen My Limo?
But wait, there's more...
David & I took these photos back in August...it was super hot...but look how pretty & vibrant everything looks...
I love an adorable little black dress that can be worn any time of year.
I have a lot of pictures like the one above...because we took these photos at dusk & the mosquitos were *horrible*...at one point I started crying. Hot, humid, & eaten alive...it's a glamorous life ;)
Sexy v-back...
Dreaming of summer...
My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Zero, UD eyeshadow in Half Baked, Kat von D eyeshadow in Echo, Mon Ennui Cosmetics eyeshadow in Year of the Dragon, Nars lipstick in Cruella, NYX Lip Cream Palette in Reds, & Little Red Wagon nail polish by OPI.
