Thanksgiving at Angie & Toby's. I woke up, made bourbon sweet potatoes, homemade apple sauce, & creamed spinach. Then, I poked myself in the eye with eyeliner. My effort to look pretty...failed. Now, I poke myself in the eye several times a year...it waters, then gets better...no big deal, right? My vision eventually got blurry...then blurrier. Kate drove me to urgent care as I whined about missing Thanksgiving. Dr. Bonk (I managed not to laugh at her name until later) told me I had a scratch right over my pupil. I got some antibiotic ointment & we were back at Angie & Toby's in an hour.
I always feel the need to wear orange to Thanksgiving dinner, so when I got this dress from Gwynnie Bee, I saved it for the occasion. And look...Kate is wearing orange too! If you look closely, Super Boo is reflected in the window between Kate & I.
I tried to take a picture of Super Boo while he was carving the turkey in a way that I would get both the back of his shirt, & the turkey...but it didn't work out. This is the back of his shirt. The front of his shirt has a super hero-like SB in an inverted triangle. I made it for him as a Christmas present 3-ish years ago. I kind of love it & it made me so happy when he showed up with it on.
Kate curated the wine for the evening. 2 sparkling wines! I like sparkling wines! And here is an after of our turkey we picked up a few nights before...YUM!
The feast! Angie made the BEST potato/turnip/celeriac/carrot mash. It was even better than just plain mashed potatoes. I don't know how that is even possible. Everything was DELICIOUS!
So. Much. Pie. Ok, only 4 pies...and Jane's bread pudding with boozy caramel sauce. I was too full to properly enjoy any of it. Sadness. I had a bite of everything, then I stared at my plate all through Cards Against Humanity...hoping some room would open up in my stomach.
To finish off the night... Super Boo & I spent 3 hours at the ER because my eye had gotten worse. It's all better now. Stupid eyeliner.
I wore this dress again to farmer's market on Saturday morning so I could get some better pictures in the daylight. I am still not wearing eye make-up on my left eye. I am kind of in love with this orange giraffe print dress. The fabric had a nice feel to it & was a thick weight...perfect for a fall/winter dress. I hated to send it back.
It may have been windy. I took a wrong turn on the way to my credit union...but this train was a perfect backdrop...so it worked out splendidly.
This lipstick is my new favorite thing. Bite Beauty makes some wonderful lip products and this one just goes on so nicely. And the color! Toast. It is lovely.

    2. Thanks, I'm new to Gywinnie. Thats where I got the link to this blog.I just think its way different not to know how much an item cost when I'm choosing garments. Does the monthly fee cover the cost of rental for all the garments you rent that month ?
