Teggings: Re/Dress

Necklace: Babil & Bijou, former etsy shop

Oh, how I loved these Lucy Lu knot front dresses with the sweetheart neckline. Luckily, before they went out of business, I snagged quite a few through GB. I last wore this dress in the fall of 2014...both times with these orange shoes...I guess they are a perfect match.
This was back in May when it was still a bit chilly...spring weather...& all the pretty trees were in bloom.
I wore this dress twice, the first time to an evening concert at The Shitty Barn, & then again to work. I wore it a bit differently to work (when these pictures were taken) since I wasn't going to be outside at night.
My makeup with this outfit included...NYX eyeliner in Gypsy Blue, Too Faced eyeshadow in #selfie & Pink Pearl, Flamepoint eyeshadow from Sugarpill, Urban Decay eyeshadow in Freeze, Habanero lipstick by MAC, NYX lipstick in Orange County & Hippie Chic, an an unknown OPI nail polish.
Kate, Jason, & I went to see Abby Jeanne, with Rose of the West opening...we ate some yummy sunflower seed tacos & drank beer.
Rose of the West was good...but Abby Jeanne was amazing! She's from Milwaukee & you should check her out if she comes to your town. We are going to see her again in a few weeks with one of our favorite Madison bands, Seasaw...at The Memorial Union.
Here's a video, but it doesn't compare to her in person vibe...

Deconstruction & Pieces Unimagined

Dress: Knot Front Dress in Navy & Red by Lucie Lu (size 5x) via GB Shop
Cardigan: Liz & Me, thrifted
Tights: Catherines
Shoes: Boden, thrifted
Earring: etXarte
Necklace: Babil & Bijou, former etsy shop
Bracelet: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
I last wore this dress when I rented it from GB, it was the final 2 girlies 1 dress post...maybe forever? Kate no longer subscribes to GB, so I doubt we'll have too many of the same items of clothing...but it could happen. I wanted to keep this dress when I had it from GB, but they wanted too much for it...I finally snapped it up from the shop for $22...totally worth it. Lucie Lu has gone out of business & I adore these knot front dresses...I have several of them, but this one is my favorite because of the orange (they call it red, but it is definitely orange). Great sweetheart neckline & length.
I liked this cardigan with it so much that I wore it again...but with different accessories at least.
City Chic had the best end of year sales...this was my first of several orders, two dresses...
And Modcloth sales too...cute olive shoes, two cardigans, & two dresses...
David & I went browsing at Deconstruction Inc., & left with a sink for our bathroom & some glass blocks for our bathroom shower window. That stained glass is enormous & gorgeous...I'd love to see it installed wherever it ends up living.
We also expressed an interest in buying all of the tin ceiling they had in stock...which we ended up picking up on another day. We may be crazy but...my idea is to do the entire ceiling in our dining room & living room in overlapping tin tiles. I'm excited!
Lookie loo-ing at Pieces Unimagined...so many fantastic things...so expensive. I'm in love with this antique vanity...I don't usually like stained & painted wood together...but this works. I'm hunting for a vanity & this might be my inspiration when I redo it. This was one of the more reasonably priced pieces at only $725.
The make-up I wore with this outfit included...Kat von D eyeshadow in Nebula, Velour, Synergy, & Flash; Apricot lipstick by Bite Beauty; NYX lipstick in Perfect Red; Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Auburn; Urban Decay Naked Flushed in Native; & Give Me Space nail polish from OPI.

Pie Palooza & Mary's Wedding

Dress: Knot Front Dress in Blue Cells by Lucie Lu (size 5x) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month free & help me earn GB credit)
Top: Maggie Barnes?, thrifted
Tights: Catherines
Shoes: Mossimo, thrifted
Jewelry: Vintage

Since Lucie Lu went out of business...this could very well be my last knot front dress...which is a tragedy...because I love them so. The paisley one I had before this I bought & I own several others. This was not my favorite pattern, but the blue was bright & pretty & went rather well with this peacock blouse I found at Savers.
I wish I had pulled one of the colors out of the top for my tights instead of going with black. Someday I will plan my outfits out instead of grabbing what I can find as I dash out the door.
I *think* I wore this dress to market? I don't remember...but I'm quite sure I did so without any make-up on. Kate wearing her fox tail. Weston Antique Apples are the best...I find new ones to love every year. I like tart crisp apples...nearly impossible to find in stores.
Pie! Pie Palooza is a yearly event I look forward to...I LOVE pie. Angie, Toby, Daniel, & Kate...eating...pie. I chose chocolate pecan pie & leek & parmesan quiche. My most beloved pie is key lime, but it's not that popular around here.
Later that day David & I traveled to Spring Green to see our last APT play of the season...Mary's Wedding. It was our favorite...I think we both cried the entire last 1/4 of the play...it was amazing.
This last photo is how I wore this at work...I pinned the shirt closed for less skin.
My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Zero; Sephora eyeliner in Brown; UD eyeshadow in UV-B, Freakshow, & Acid Rain; NXY lip palette in The Plums; & Colors by Llarowe nail polish in Rockin' My JuJu.

I wore this dress several times...farmers' marketing with Kate; out to lunch, to the vet, & Savers shopping with Super Boo; & to see Eurydice with Angie. I finally just bought the dress. I have a bunch in this style from Lucie Lu...but since they've now gone out of business...this will probably be the last one I add to my collection. Others I've worn recently...purple diamond & miami vice (more links to ones I've worn/bought found on this post). It's the sweetheart neckline & empire waist that get me every time.
I wore this dress alone & the 2 ways pictured above. The Citron kimono had such a lovely pattern & colors...but it was difficult to knot (not much fabric) & was just a box when worn open...or I would have bought it.
Saturday Farmers' Markets...downtown & west side. Weston Antique Apples are my favs...I take pictures each week of the varieties I buy at market so I know which one I'm eating. Kate buying romenesco. Sal's pizza with David & Rye at the vet. Sushi! with Angie before seeing Eurydice for the second time at APT...the first time was back in July.
Savers 50% off finds...a lot of stuff for wearing to bed, a few cardigans, & green shoes.
I forgot to take a photo of the make-up I wore with this outfit, but I remember some of it...NYX eyeliner in Gypsy Blue; Kat von D eyeshadow in Fran, Legend, Misfit, Hyperballad, & Synth; & This Color's Making Waves nail polish by OPI.

Oh, look! Another Knot Front dress...just like the day before. It reminded me of chainlink fence...it was a great color of purple.
David & I went to American Players Theatre for the first time this year to see Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors...
I made us artichoke hummus wraps with veggie slaw, which we ate in the car instead of at a picnic table because it had been pouring rain up until a few minutes before we got there...but...it stopped for our outdoor performance.
As usual, APT did a great job & this play was hilarious & well done (the above photo came from the Isthmus).
My make-up with outfit included...Urban Decay 24/7 Liquid Liner in Retrograde; UD eyeshadow in Beatdown, Bones, & Framed; NYX Lip Cream Palette in The Plums & Simply Vamp lipstick in Tempress; & OPI nail polish in OPI INK.

Concerts on the Square: The Appian Way

Dress: Knot Front Dress in Peri Check by Lucie Lu (size 5x) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month free & help me earn GB credit)
Teggings: Re/Dress
Sandals: Dansko
Earring: etXarte
Necklace: Vintage

I threw this dress on to go to Concerts on the Square with the girlie after getting a pedicure & FINALLY prying the fruit dress off my body & mailing it back to GB. These colors & pattern were so not me that I had Kate take some quick snaps because I was quite sure this was going to go back without wearing it again...but Kate liked it...so I gave it another chance...with slight make-up & accessory adjustments. I adore these Lucie Ku knot front dresses...I've lost track of how many patterns I've worn...blue polka dot (that I own), navy & orange houndstooth (my fav), black with yellow dots (that I own), black bouquet, aztec acid, midnight rose (bought), night vision teal...& I know there are several more...but you get the idea. That sweetheart neckline just so flatteringly frames the chest.
My 80s Miami Vice vibe goes delightfully with the LOVE wall.
The first Concerts on the Square of the season (I'm *really* behind...this was June 29th) with my girlie & my new pedicure.
We did not plan food ahead of time...but Kate brought this delicious sparkling róse. She ended up with African food from Buraka, while I decided on a baguette sandwich picnic from Fromagination with thee most amazing potato chips. This was a most lovely perfect evening with my girlie under the shade of this tree with gorgeous background music. There have been some stressful life events & this was just what I needed.
I haven't been very good at documenting my garage sale finds...so I'm just going to stick them here since I went to several sales in this dress. This moss green bathroom cabinet was a great find with its mirrored back & curved glass sides...the whole yard sale was magnificent...a woman who had gotten there just before me had a pile going & there was this fun metal object that I had no clue what it was...so I asked & the lady running the sale said...we don't know, but it's a really great one.
I found this amazing vintage sale in Lodi last summer when I drove Kate to hike...but since they told me they don't advertise, I hadn't gone again...until I came across their ad on Craig's List last month...I was SO excited! She told me they do 3 sales a summer & I told her THANK YOU for putting it on CL.
After years of lusting after them...I finally got an old rusty metal plow tiller...someone had welded a stake on this one, so it was all ready to decorate the yard. I just LOVE old rusty things!
Chickens! Chickens came wandering out while I was browsing at this yard sale that was a fund raiser for this family's dog who had to have her leg amputated. There were no prices on anything...just give a donation if you felt like it. So I gave them a few dollars for our favorite game...The Game of Things...even though Kate has one & I'll never play without her.
I picked myself up a coloring book at the dollar store...I was there in search of Lisa Frank coloring books for Kate.
During the month of June...GB kept throwing Rimmel make-up in my boxes...I still haven't tried any of it yet.
Savers sale...David found me 3 pairs of leggings to wear to bed, & I spied a few other things I *needed*.
My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Zero; Sephora eyeliner in Brown; UD eyeshadow in 1985, Fastball, & Bones; Make Up For Ever eyeshadow in Lime; Quince lipstick by Bite Beauty; UD lipstick in Crush; OPI polish in My Gecko Does Tricks with Woodstock by Colors by Llarowe on top.
