Riesling Tasting

Top: Keira Kimono Sleeve Top in Olive by Kiyonna via Gwynnie Bee (click link to get a free month & help me earn a free garment for a month)
Sandals: Born
Necklace: Me
Earring: etXarte
Bracelet: Vintage

I wore this ensemble to taste wine with the girlie & do a bit of shopping at the co-op. I adore these kimono tops from Kiyonna. If things had worked out better I would own this top & the red version. Unfortunately, this top came to me with a snag on the boob & the red top had a dot of ink...also on the boob. Those racks really get in the way! So obviously I think this top is fabulous...it's a great fit for me & the sleeves are fun.
Have I mentioned how much I love these sari skirts?! So many gorgeous patterns, colors, textures...& mismatching prints...my favorite thing.
The prettiest girlie ever, wearing something from GB.
Mmmmmmm...Riesling. Once upon a time I didn't like red wine & Riesling was my favorite wine. I still love it...especially in summer.

Fisher-Price Circus Train

Dress: Chelsea Dress in Ombre Floral by Igigi via Gwynnie Bee (click link to get a free month & help me earn an extra garment for a month)
Sandals: Born
Earring & Necklace: Babil & Bijou
Bracelets: Vintage

I wore this dress to work & garage sales. The colors & print on this were amazing...I am a big fan of grandma sofa fabric, so it really is too bad about the blob in the middle. Help! I'm being sucked into this black hole! I felt short in this dress. It was a pretty one time wear, although it would have been better suited for fall.
Cops & horses having lunch across from our office.
Super Boo & I found a garage sale full of Fisher-Price Little People toys from the 70s...I used to LOVE those as a kid! I had this circus train when I was a wee one. My paternal grandmother told me I could have anything I wanted from Toys"R"Us in exchange for giving up my blanket & this was what I picked. I immediately wanted my blanket back, but she told me the flies had gotten it & it was too late.
Super Boo found these brand new Born sandals in a lovely pear shade at a different garage sale. And look at all that embroidery thread! Boxes & bags full.
 Such pretty material!

The Shitty Barn Presents: Spirit Family Reunion

Dress: Elizabeth Dress in Floral Bouquet by Cherry Velvet via Gwynnie Bee (click link to get a free month & help me earn a free garment for a month)
Teggings: Re/Dress
Earring: Wendy Baker
Necklace: A Luscious Thing
Shoes: Clarks
Photography: Kate & Me (iPhone)
I wore this frock to travel to Spring Green with the girlie to attend a show at The Shitty Barn. I rarely get garments from GB a second time...but I am in love with this Cherry Velvet dress. I should have bought it this time around...but they are a tad expensive. I feel sexy & pretty in this dress...it fits like a charm in 3x & is adorable! I like the way Cherry Velvet fits tightly on top & then flares out. The last time I wore it was also to a concert. Why didn't I buy this dress?! Silly girlie.
Before going to the concert, we finally picked up our implosion glass items from the class we took at The Vinery. Kate's are the 2 that actually imploded on the bottom & the 2 sad pendants on top are mine. You see why I wasn't in a hurry to get them??
 The Rachel at Stalzy's...
The girlie being adorbs...well, she can't help it...she just is. Also wearing Cherry Velvet. And check out those Fly London patent leather shoes!
My girlie is a beer drinker...I can't really wrap my head around this...
Charmingly chippy barn door at The Charming Barn...
Last year I won tickets to see Dana Falconberry at The Shitty Barn. I'm embarrassed to say I avoided this place because of the awful name...I never bothered to look into who played here...I just assumed it was country or metal. The Shitty Barn is actually the most charming barn ever. This place is magical! There is something about the energy there that is calming & it feels like home.
Spirit Family ReunionSpirit Family Reunion play homegrown American music to stomp, clap, shake and holler with. Ever since they started singing together on the street corners, farmer's markets and subway stations of New York City, their songs have rung-out in a pure and timeless way. When Spirit Family Reunion gather to sing, there is communion. Strangers and neighbors come to rejoice in the sound, and there is no divide between performer and spectator.
This band was amazing...or is it that The Shitty Barn casts a spell on all who come here?

The Return of Girlie Crafty Night: Lady Magpie's Wine & Crafts Soiree

Dress: Keyhole Dress in Lime by Lands' End via Gwynnie Bee (click link to get a free month & help me earn a free garment for a month)
Cardigan: Jessica Howard
Sandals: Dansko
Necklace, Bracelet, & Earring: Wendy Baker
Photography: Kate & Me (iPhone)
I wore this outfit to the revival of our girlie crafty night. The minute I saw this dress I was in love! Limes! I love citrus & thought this pattern was just so fun & cheerful. When I finally got it, the material was not quite what I was expecting. The Zombie Pac Man dress was the same style, but the fabric was a much thicker rayon jersey. The lime dress is pima cotton/rayon...which makes sense for a summer dress. My concern is that it won't hold up as well in washing & will pill easily. My solution: never wash it! Alright...hand wash, line dry. I immediately bought this dress (as well as a matching lime print cardigan). I was the first person to get it & it needed to be mine forever. It's flattering & comfortable & look! Lands' End knows how to make appropriately sized arm holes for fat chicks...meaning...you can't see my bra through them. Also, can you really look at me in this dress & not smile?!

Years ago, we had a girlie crafty group called The Gothic Ladies Quilting Circle & Badass Society. We met once a week at various members homes, crafted, chatted, laughed, nibbled, & drank wine or other libations. It went on for years...then eventually the interest dwindled. We are all older now & not so very gothy, but we missed our girlie time so we started anew.
My project for the 1st meeting of our freshly formed group, Lady Magpie's Wine & Crafts Soiree, was sorting these squares & other bits of fabric I got for free at the Re-Art Swap. This is only the smallest portion of it. My intention is to make myself a patchwork skirt based on crazy quilting. The biggest hurdle in my way...I've never quilted before.
My talented friend, Jane, Blackbird Marmalade Creations, made me this charming Goblin (whose name I have already forgotten!) & gave it to me at crafty night. Teeth!!
I loved this orange & green make-up combination...Sugarpill Acidberry shadow & Nars Mediteranee eyeshadow duo, along with MAC Korean Candy on my lips. Alys Dream Polish in Sweet Orange is on my nails (a gift from my friend Amy).
Super Boo surprised me a year or 2 ago with this set of jewelry from the lovely Wendy. It was the one time Facebook with its stalking ways was a good thing. Wendy had posted a photo of this necklace & I commented on how much I adored it & it popped up in Boo's feed. And that adorable sweetheart got in touch with Wendy & not only bought the necklace for me...but a matching bracelet & the ever so kind Wendy threw in the earrings. Love.

Hot Dogs, Get Your Hot Dogs!

Dress: Harlow Faux Wrap Dress by Kiyonna via Gwynnie Bee (click link to get a free month & help me earn a free garment for a month)
Teggings: Re/Dress
Sandals: Clarks
Necklace & Earring: Babil & Bijou
Photography: Super Boo & Me (iPhone)
I wore this outfit to attend Tai Chi class & run some errands. This dress was a fabulous red, but I did not love the way it draped on me. Kiyonna has so many lovely dresses that are a better fit for my body. It was also a bit heavy for my taste & because of the tulip hem, I needed to wear teggings so I didn't flash the world my panties (although I was wearing red to match!). I love how the yellow looks with the red...even if I do look like I'm a hot dog vendor...you'd buy a hot dog from me, right? Would you like mustard with that?
My herb garden...mmmmmm...it smells so good! I need to make pesto soon so my basil has a chance to come back before the first frost.
I just adore this naughty necklace. It's a Victorian burlesque locket with 8 poses plastique (living pictures) inside of alluring ladies in nude body stockings...posed in a manner recalling classical statues. Modestly risqué & completely charming.
