Engaging Shaw

Dress: Fit & Flare Dress in Abstract Print by Jessica Howard (size 24) via GB Try Then Buy
Cardigan: ?, thrifted
Leggings: Lularoe (TC2) via eBay
Shoes: Arcopedico, thrifted
Earring: Kerala Rose
Necklace: Wendy Baker
Bracelets: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo, Kate, & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
I really wanted to wear these leggings...so I threw together an outfit around them. I know Lularoe is evil...but they have some pretty leggings that are soft & fit like a glove. I've been enjoying scouring eBay looking for bargains on fun patterns.
The last time I wore this dress was in summer 2015...with none of the same accessories, much to my delight.
I'm liking my haircut slightly more as it grows out...
My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Voodoo; Indigo, Violet, & Buttercup eyeshadow by Violet Voss; Kat von D eyeshadow in Exodus & Exorcism; UD lipstick in Big Bang; Anastasia Lip Palette; & Grape Gum nail polish from CND Vinylux.
I first wore this outfit to see our last APT play of the season (inside) with Kate, Engaging Shaw. Too cold for a picnic...so dinner in Spring Green at Freddy Valentine's.
The girlie had their homemade veggie burger with sweet potato fries & I can never resist a fish fry...the horseradish dill tartar sauce that came with it was marvelous. Check out that woman's stunning boots!
Outside the indoor APT theatre & inside, the stage...
Ulta had a 20% off sale...below is my online order, then they extended it another week & I decided I needed to pop into a store & grab UD Naked Cherry.
Underground meat at the last west side outdoor market...& this awesome tiki fertility goddess at Deconstruction Inc...I hope the person who bought this shares a picture of where she lives. And...the final visit to our old house...nothing is left of us, it's all been painted grey for the new owners.
Picking out paint colors to go with our vintage 70s wallpaper for the hallway. Kate at the Co-op...& me making salmon & drinking wine while the girlie does laundry at our house. I like this new laundry & wine tradition.

Pumpkins & Foxes & Doggies...Oh, My!

Dress: Blue & Black Knit Jacquard Dress by Taylor Dresses (size 24) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link for your first month free & help me earn GB credit)
Cardigan: CJ Banks, thrifted
Tights: Catherines
Shoes: Gap, thrifted
Necklace: Wendy Baker
Bracelet: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
A bit of a blah dress...just ended up wearing it to work once & for erranding out & about. I liked the weight of this for fall & I adore a textured dress. The length was spot on, but the lining around the neck kept popping out & it was entirely too big on top.
I like the added pink & stripes to brighten up this blue dress.
I wanted to wear this cardigan & these shoes because they've just been hanging out in my closet...never worn by me. I'm smitten with the shoes, but unsure of the cardigan because of the grey in it...should it stay or should it go?
My make-up with this outfit included...NYX eyeliner in Sunrise Blue & Midnight; Violet Voss eyeshadow in Donut, Seashell, & Tidal Wave; Totally Fetch & Earl Grey eyeshadow from Too Faced; NYX lipliner in Fuchsia; NYX Liquid Suede lipstick in Pink Lust; Big Bang lipstick by Urban Decay; & Summer Lovin' nail polish from Colors by Llarowe.
Foxy like a fox...Kate got several compliments at market, especially on the tail...
Indian buffet with David, then over to Sur La Table to pick out a screen to go over pans when we're cooking with hot oil that splatters & makes me go OWWWW. October's Sephora Play! box...& a long lost box of clothing...I had been missing a few of these cardigans. Filling up the rec room fridge with my addiction...sparkling water! My favorite flavors of the moment are Waterloo Mango, Klarbrunn Bucky's Cherry Berry, & Polar Ice Blueberry Lemonade.
Baby Freddie & Molly on David...
Mommy & her little pumpkin on Halloween...

Wasted on Arts & Literature

Dress: Bell Sleeve Floral Dress by Connected Apparel (size 24) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month free & help me earn GB credit)
Leggings: Torrid (size 4x)
Boots: Steve Madden
Earring, Necklace, & Bracelet: Wendy Baker
Photography: Super Boo, Kate, & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
I normally avoid shapeless shift dresses...but the colors in this one made me gasp...the alluring autumn shades with touches of gold metallic were marvelous. And I do love a bell sleeve. Had this been a fit & flare or a wrap dress...I would have made it mine.
This dress was a tad too short to wear with just tights, so leggings to the rescue.
Oh, hydrangeas...I adore you.
My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Mildew, UD eyeshadow in Wanderlust & Stranded, Huda Beauty Coral Obsession palette, MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour in Coral Plated, & Deutsch You Want Me Baby? nail polish from OPI.
I wore this outfit to attend the monthly Wasted wine group with Kate & David. The theme on this day was Arts & Literature....so we brought bottles of wine to match what we chose to share. Also, food...I made a citrus roasted beet kale salad with fennel that was delicious.
It was a rather large group, ~25, so the couple hosting had to relocate to her parent's house for extra room.
 My two favorite people <3
Sharing poetry, blurbs from books, music, photos from vacations, bits of film & TV...but no interpretive dance. I recited the first three lines of Sylvia Plath's Mad Girl's Love Song, the first two are tattooed on my right calf.

I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead;
I lift my lids and all is born again.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)

I played a piece of music by Zoe Keating in the background & to top off my crazy mad theme...a bottle of 2017 Channing Daughters Sylvanus Pet-Nat.
Red Red Wine ukulele sing-a-long & tasty food...my salad was scrumptious & Kate made some cashew curry dip that I couldn't stop eating.
Kate read Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Blackbird by Wallace Stevens...the first line of the poem mentions snowy mountains & the grapes of her wine are grown in mountains that get snow...also, her shirt had mountains on it (which she forgot to mention), so when she was done...I said, & there are mountains on your shirt. Kate very proudly said, "I brought my mountains with me" & I laughed like a 12 year old.

David ended the evening by reciting Sonnet XXX (Love is Not All) by Edna St. Vincent Millay...& he moved several people to tears. He served his Pedro Ximénez (a dessert wine) with vanilla gelato & a piece of his favorite 100% chocolate...it was divine.
Most of the bottles from whence we sipped...

Lula Wiles // The Bald Puppy Arrives // Gleam

Dress: Short Sleeve Red Plaid Fit & Flare Dress by Jessica Howard (size 24) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month free & help me earn GB credit)
Cardigan: Liz & Me, thrifted
Leggings: Torrid (size 4)
Shoes: Rampage, thrifted
Necklace: Wendy Baker
Bracelet: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo, Kate, & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
I'm mad for plaid...so I'm thrilled to see it among the fall fashion trends...so I can stock up. But not with this dress. Normally...orange, red, & olive plaid would be my thing, but the olive was too cool for me & read as grey unless you were close up. Also, it was tighter than I would prefer...but that's to be expected since this was a size 24. However, I had fun styling & wearing this dress. If it had been made in a 26 or 28, I would have had a difficult time not purchasing it.
I was really happy with my pattern mixing with this outfit...sometimes it just comes together.
I am SO happy I bought this orange vintage bracelet...I wear it all the time. And I am dreadfully low on jewelry in the color of fun.
My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Stash (not the NYX liner pictured); Kat von D eyeshadow in Relic, Devil, Immaculate, & Alexandra; Santa Sangre lipstick by KvonD; Dozen Carnations lipstick from MAC; & OPI nail polish in Now Museum, Now You Don't.
I first wore this outfit to see Lula Wiles at North Street Cabaret...these ladies were marvelous & will be coming back the end of February. Also...this is my favorite place to see live music in Madison.
North Street Cabaret bathroom mirror selfie...looking at my healing tattoo.

I wore this outfit on another day to...meet the bald puppy!!! Who has way more hair than we were led to believe. He was less than 24 hours old here in the hospital. David is obsessed with this baby...if Angie & Toby invited him over every day to cuddle little Frederick, he would happily be there. Also, what an adorable baby. And I say that rarely.

I spent the rest of the day going to garage sales...I bought a vintage bird cage on a stand & this marvelous...thing...I suspect you could hang clothes on it, but I'm going to use it for jewelry. Then I went to Ulta to play with make-up because they were having a 20% off sale. I ended up ordering online because the Urban Decay Naked Cherry collection was not in stores yet.
Then...dinner with Kate at Lao Laan Xang before heading over to Gleam.
This was not my favorite year of Gleam...the art installations were too spread out & did not have as much of a wow factor as some displays in the past. But it was still fun...because I was with my girlie, it was a full moon, & I like Olbrich Gardens at night.
I got a picture of the full moon above...you can click on the photos to make them bigger...Kate complains that when I collage photos, they are too small.
The red dome below was our favorite...you could sit in it & if you played with the large buttons in the center...it would change colors & make different sounds...it was soothing. I want one in my backyard.

Pét-Nat Party & New Hair

Dress: Stripe Fit & Flare Dress in Navy & Maroon by Sangria (size 24) via Gwynnie Bee Try Then Buy
Cardigan: ModCloth
Tights: We Love Colors in Maroon
Shoes: Born
Earring: etXarte
Necklaces & Bracelets: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo, Kate, & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
Out of the box...I wasn't that into this dress...but once I put it on & started styling it...I was in love. And it was only $18, so I bought it. I especially liked how the stripes are horizontal on top & come to a v on the bottom, would that be chevron? The length & fit was great for me despite being a size 24. There are so many lovely colors in this dress...the accessory choices are endless.
I had brighter pointy mustard shoes that I would have preferred to have worn, but shoes are still difficult on my diseased legs & ankles.
I decided I needed a sleeker look for the cold months ahead...so an asymmetrical bob happened. It had to be quite short...I may like it better after it grows for a few months. I think I look like a bowling ball...but Kate assures me I do not.
My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Alkaline, Ignite & Stranded eyeshadow by UD, Edge eyeshadow from Anastasia, Nars lipstick in Majella, & OPI nail polish in I Love You Just Be-Cusco.
I wore this outfit one Friday to work, have Indian buffet with David, take the dogs to the park, & meet Jason & Kate for dinner at Bandung.
The capitol outside of Square Wine...where David met us for a Pét-Nat tasting. So delightful...Kate bought a bottle of both my & David's favorite bottles to drink during her next laundry visit.
I got several compliments on my outfit...one from a stylish gay man...so that's when I decided I needed to buy this dress.
I also wore this outfit to check out the monthly pop-up shop, Confectionique...the October theme was "Menacing Maison". I bought a few things, but never got around to taking photos. Unless it's something I wear, or it goes in the kitchen, bathroom, or bedroom...it basically gets packed away until we finish remodeling the rest of the house. Right now David's office & our hallway are being worked on.

Then...on to my haircut appointment with Gen at Cha Cha...these photos, & finally...East Side Farmers' Market.
