The Barmadillo

Dress: Abstract Print Jacquard Dress by tbagslosangeles (size 3x)
Leggings: Roamans (size 2x)
Socks: Sock Dreams
Boots: Dr. Martens
Earring: Vintage 80s
Bracelets: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
I wore this dress last year to see Pokey Lafarge...while I love this brand & these are *my* colors...I thought this dress had too much of a southwestern vibe to want to wear it more than once...but then it showed up in the GB Shop for $20 & I decided it had to have a home with me. I wore this dress 4 or 5 times...with different make-up & jewelry...but this is how I wore it on this day.
 Perfect autumnal outfit...
I wore this outfit while visiting Brian in Michigan, to run errands, to work, & to Octoberfest festivities with Kate, below. We had plans to see a band we'd seen at The Shitty Barn, Crane Wives, but the sound guy cancelled the show last minute because of rain (it had rained earlier, but wasn't raining...he was super crabby)...we said hi to one of the guys in the band & decided to try our luck at a different Octoberfest...the highlight of which was The Barmadillo...which we first encountered at Yum Yum Fest 2014. The drink we chose...Bavarian Collins, was delicious. We munched on a soft pretzel (Kate) & a corn dog (me)...& hung out for a bit, but the band playing during our time there was not worth sticking around for.
Stocking up on black tights from Catherines...& one brown pair...
I got an amazing deal on these lovely Docs from ModCloth.
Urban Decay had a 20% off sale...I was only going to get the Vice lipstick palette...but the 20th anniversary Vice eyeshadow was deeply discounted. And look at the adorable Vice lipstick sample pack they sent me!

Election Day: I'm With Her

Necklace: Wendy Baker

We interrupt our regularly scheduled blogging to bring you...the outfit of today...election day. I normally post my outfits in the order I wear them, but I'm a month behind & if the prediction is true...if the Oompa Loompa actually becomes our president elect...I'm not going to want to revisit this day again in several weeks. I voted for Hillary Clinton because I thought she was our best choice. I was all in for Bernie...I LOVE Bernie, but was hoping with a Democrat for president...Bernie could get things done in the senate. I'm afraid for & of my country. I'm going to go through my 600 photos from today & add them to this post between tears.
This is one of my favorite dresses I've ever gotten from GB...I had it 3 times before I finally bought it. This is my most frequently worn dress on this blog. I wore it last summer to The Shitty Barn, earlier last summer to create my first mosaic, & for the very first time in autumn 2014.
I put a shout out on my personal Facebook, as well as a neighborhood fb group...looking for a patriotic wall in Madison I could take my election day photos in front of. A stranger totally came through for me with the suggestion of this nearby VFW building...fantastic mural.
David & I spent our day having lunch with our realtor discussing the offer we are going to make on a house. Lunch at Stalzy's was amazing...then we voted...look how happy we were. Rye did not vote...but this is how I feel about how much good my vote was. All we can do now is be kind & love each other. Love still trumps hate. I don't know what our future holds, but we will get through this.
My make-up with this outfit included...Deep Blue eyeliner by NYX, Urban Decay eyeshadow in Heroine & Bobby Dazzle, Mon Ennui Cosmetics eyeshadow in Year of the Dragon, NYX blush in Summer, & You Make Me Vroom nail polish by OPI.

Pokey LaFarge

Dress: Abstract Print Jacquard Dress by tbagslosangeles (size 3x) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month free & help me earn GB credit)
Leggings: Roamans
Boots: John Fluevog
Earring: etXarte
Clip-on Earring, Necklace, Bracelet: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
I wore this outfit to farmers' market & wine tasting with the girlie during the day...& to see a band at night. I was soooooo excited when GB released this tbags dress...I adore that brand & knew the fit & flare style would look good on me...& those colors *swoon*. I got a lot of compliments on this dress, however, it's got too much of a southwestern vibe for me to be tempted to buy it. Also, holy shortness! This needed leggings. The sleeves were another problem...they were huge & hung down to my fingertips...& they didn't stay pushed up. Great fit & lovely weight & texture of fabric for cooler months. I loved wearing this dress.
Indoor farmers' market & then...wine tasting! I love wine tasting at Square Wine with Kate...as well as any time when Kate picks out wine. Wine.
Pokey LaFarge!! They played The Shitty Barn last year, but by the time someone pictured below decided which shows she wanted to see...it was sold out. It gets dark so very early now...I wish I had been able to get a photo of Kate wearing this Anna Scholz dress, but obviously the lighting at High Noon was quite dim...cleavage!! It was amusing watching her dance...she nearly bounced right out.
We normally sit as close as we can for shows because it makes me feel more present...immersed in the experience. I tend to feel disconnected unless I'm right there. Unfortunately, for this show we sat in the balcony (because to be on the floor meant people touching you, pushing you, stepping on your feet...& that makes me crazy), which would have been fine...but they lied about when doors were, so we didn't get seats right on the railing like I had hoped. And it was still amazing...just more wandering...I don't get to feel the energy if I'm not up front...it's like I'm watching it on tv. The photo of the whole band was taken by me in the balcony & the close up was stolen from Instagram.
Pokey LaFarge performing Something In The Water live.
My make-up this day included...Sephora eyeliner in Brown, Mon Ennui eyeshadow in Rustette, Sugarpill eyeshadow in Flamepoint & Buttercupcake, Bite Beauty lipstick in Toast, & OPI nail polish in Red Hot Holiday.

Pie Palooza

Dress (worn as a top): Tulip Hem Scoop Neck Dress by tbagslosangeles (size 3x) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month free & help me earn GB credit)
Skirt: Enwrapture Vintage Silk Sari
Sandals: Born, thrifted
Necklace & Bracelet: Wendy Baker
Earring: etXarte
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
I wore this ensemble to Pie Palooza. I'm a big fan of tbagslosangeles dresses, however, this doesn't quite qualify as a dress on me...although it does make an excellent top. The fabric feels lovely & soft, the uneven hem is fun, & the cut out back is sexy. On the negative side...the sleeves are hugely long & the bottom is so tight that there is no way I could wear this as a dress even if it were long enough. Kate really liked it on me as a top, so if it came up for sale for ~$20, I'd probably buy it.
Pie! All of the pie! We look forward to Pie Palooza every year. Pies of the sweet & savory varieties are donated by local restaurants with the proceeds going to REAP (a nonprofit that promotes locally grown food & small farmers).
Can't look up...too busy eating pie! That Dark Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie from Batch was my favorite pie this year. Below, the Spaghetti Pie was the opposite of yummy.
After pie, we all went to a shoe garage sale that I had gotten lucky at during their spring sale...but none of us found anything. I had to take a photo of Angie's splash dyed tights from We Love Colors...because I LOVE them.
Savers 50% off haul. I don't actually think we went on this day...but I've forgotten & this is the day I took the picture.
I *do* remember making tomato soup! We made gallons of it to freeze so we can enjoy it all winter. 45 pounds of farmers' market tomatoes.
I'm bringing sexy back.
My make-up this day included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Zero on my top lid, NYX eyeliner in Acid Green on my lower lid, Acidberry eyeshadow by Sugarpill, MUFE orange eyeshadow, & MAC's Korean Candy lipstick.

Joshua James (with J.E. Sunde)

Dress: Handkerchief Hem Tank Dress by tbagslosangeles (size 3x) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month free & help me earn GB credit)
Teggings: Re/Dress
Sandals: Dansko
Necklace: Age Before Beauty
Earring & Bracelet: Babil & Bijou
Photography: Kate & Me (iPhone)
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
This dress in now mine...all mine!!! After getting it from GB 3 times, I just couldn't send it back again. I wore it with navy teggings last time, & with a cardigan the first time. Obviously, I'm in love...the fabric feels luxurious, the armholes are just right, & I adore the handkerchief hem.
I wore this fabulous dress to one of my favorite places with my favorite girlie. Kate & I at The Shitty Barn on a gorgeous night to listen to wonderful music, what could be lovelier?  Kate is wearing a London Times dress she bought from GB (that they finally sent to me today!). Those shoes!!!
We ate dinner at the barn...Vegan Broccoli Stir Fry for both of us...& beer. I had to have a Fatty Boombalatty because I liked Kate's the last time we were here, plus...how fun is that name to say?! Fatty Boombalatty...it's a mouth basketball word.
First up, J.E. Sunde. I liked him, but it is hard to take a musician seriously that wears flip flops while performing.
Joshua James was fantastic live...he & the band had great energy... really in tune with each other...tight. Mr. James was a great storyteller, which I appreciate in a musician. I bought 2 of his albums. Driving home, it was funny to find out we both thought Joshua James looked like Johnny Depp's not as handsome younger brother (that doesn't sound very nice, but being compared to Johnny Depp at all is the biggest compliment)...& the guitar player could have been related to Nicholas Cage.
My make-up this fine evening included...Sugarpill's Love + eyeshadow, Nyx Deep Blue eyeliner, & Head in the Clouds lipstick by MAC.

My First Mosaic

Dress: Handkerchief Hem Tank Dress by tbagslosangeles (size 3x) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month free & help me earn GB credit)
Cardigan: Avenue
Teggings: Re/Dress
Sandals: Dansko, gift from Super Boo
Necklace: Christine Wallace, gift from Kate
Earring: etXarte
Bracelet: Babil & Bijou
Photography: Super Boo & Me (Canon Rebel & iPhone)
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
I wore this fabulous dress to work & then on another day to farmers' market & to take a mosaic class. This is the second time I've had this dress...& the second time I've let it go. It was only $50 this time, which is a bargain for a tbags dress. Silly me. I am not normally a fan of red, white, & blue together...but this print is spectacular...it reminds me of a stamp from an exotic land. The fit is fabulous & the arm holes actually cover my bra. The first time I had this dress was last fall...at the same time as the maxi in the same fabric.
Angie signed up for a beginning mosaic class at The Vinery & when she asked if anyone else was interested...I jumped...I had wanted to mosaic things for a while...& I knew I would never get around to it on my own. Angie ended up being sick this day, so Toby took her place. It was fun to watch his creative process as he started completely over a few times. I usually get a general idea in my head & see where it takes me...but I stick with it, even when I probably shouldn't.
The guy that taught the class was incredibly nice & it was by far the most delightful class I'd ever taken at The Vinery. Kate & I usually take classes involving hot glass...which I have finally decided is just not my thing.
Look, I finished it! That would have never happened had I done this on my own at home. I went back a few days after the class to grout it, as the other option was to bring grout home...but again, it would have most likely sat around incomplete for years. I adore my colorful sugar skull mosaic! And it was soooo easy & fun!
My make-up that day included...Love + shadow from Sugarpill, Blue Velvet shadow by Anastasia, Deep Blue liner from NYX, & Head in the Clouds MAC lipstick.

Film Fest & Food

Dress: Deep V-Neck Maxi Dress (aka The Wizard Dress) by tbagslosangeles (size 3x) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month for free & help me earn an extra garment for a month)
Sandals: Dansko
Necklace/Bracelet/Earring: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo, Me, & Jason (Canon Rebel & iPhone)
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
I wore this dress to the film fest, out to lunch with Super Boo, & out to dinner. I first got this dress from GB back in November 2013. I wish I would have bought it then, I liked the pattern/color placement better, warmer around my face. I purchased this one though, because it is just so much fun. So, obviously I adore this dress. The fit is fantastic & the fabric feels marvelous on. I transform into a goddess in tbags maxis.
Kate in Anna Scholz inside the stunning Capitol Theatre where we saw our first film of the day. After the documentary, Super Boo & I had Indian buffet for lunch, yum!
Olive holding on to Super Boo's hat while he takes pictures of me, she's so patient (they were taking a walk).  3 GB girlies outside Tex Tubb's Taco Palace. I had to have 2 margaritas after our final film (& worst movie of the festival) of the day, White God. It won an award at Cannes, has 91% on Rotten Tomatoes, & is a New York Times Critic's Pick. I hated it, & not just because of the dog fighting or animal abuse. I believe if dogs were free, they would frolic & play...enjoy life & not waste their time getting even with the people that wronged them. The acting, including the dogs, was marvelous.
Fish tacos & sweet potato fries.
I don't usually go for matchy matchy, but I adore this set of vintage jewels, last worn here for Christmas
