Another Work Dress

Dress: Floral V Neck Smocked Waist Dress by Jessica Howard (size 14) via Gwynnie Bee
Tights: Snag
Shoes: Born, thrifted
Earring: Wendy Baker
Necklace: former Etsy shop
Bracelet: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 41-39-53
The colors in this dress were spectacular on me...& I liked the smocked waist & sleeves, plus the gold threads running through it. It ran a bit large & it felt frumpy though.
I think this is my first time wearing these Born shoes I thrifted.
I don't have a burgundy flower earring, so black it was...
My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Alkaline & Love Drug, Young Love & Bang Bang eyeshadow from UD, MAC lipliner in Burgundy, Dubonnet Amplified lipstick by MAC, & Essie nail polish in Forever Family.
This was another dress that was too boring to wear anywhere other than work. I had too many of those at once from Gwynnie Bee, along with the one below which I wore, but never bothered to get pictures of.
It's been a while since I watched/listened to DJs on Twitch...but I checked in on 320 minutes & Shok was broadcasting live from Tulsa.

Coq au Vin // Film Fest

Dress: Boho Paisley Banded Perfect Wrap Dress by Leota (size 1x) via Gwynnie Bee
Tights: Snag
Shoes: Born
Earring: Wendy Baker
Necklace: former Etsy shop
Bracelet: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 41-39-53
I adored this dress...pretty much the same dress from my last post, but the pattern & colors were SO much more me. I especially liked the contrasting colors (same pattern) on the neckline & belt. Leota always fits me great, with the exception of having to pin the neckline closed...however, they have solved that problem (finally) by including a snap.
Despite so many colors to choose from, this dress was surprisingly difficult to match jewelry to.
This nail polish from ILNP, Misery, has become one of my new favorite polishes...they declare it is a fiery burnt orange with glowing metallic flakes...but it also skews a bit red & it really is a great neutral on me.
My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Roxy; Laurel, Jasper, & Morning eyeshadow from Natasha Denona; MAC lipliner in Chicory; Heat lipstick by UD; & ILNP nail polish in Misery.
I first wore this dress to have our friend elly's husband, Josh, over for dinner...I mean, he's our friend too...I've just known elly a lot longer. I made Coq au Vin, Sautéed Brussels Sprouts with Sausage & Pickled Red Onion, Esme's Rough Squash Mash, & Almond Cake. Josh brought along a selection of Amaro, including one he made.
Josh also made us some cocktails, starting with a Paper Plane.
There was also a Jungle Bird after dessert. It was a delicious meal with fabulous company.
I also wore this dress to work, to attend film fest, & thrift store shopping with David. Kate, David, & me outside of our theater. I really liked these yellow Boden flats, but at a size 38, they were too tight on me. I did get this cardigan though, plus a black one, both size medium...it is nice to have a few cardigans that fit & I've especially appreciated having the black one.

Work Dress

Dress: Mosaic Purple Kara Wrap Dress by Leota (size 1x) via Gwynnie Bee
Shoes: Sam Edelman
Earring: etXarte
Necklace: little shop in Sausalito, CA
Bracelet: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 41-39-53
The purple/burgundy in this dress is what attracted me to it...the pattern wasn't my favorite. Faux wrap & I had to pin the neckline closed. The fit & length on this brand is always spot on & great for work.

I wore this dress to work & to a few medical appointments...too conservative for anything else.
I think this is my first time wearing these shoes I found on eBay.
My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Delinquent; Celestial, Drama, Base, & Dreamer eyeshadow by Anastasia; Sugarpill Cosmetics lipstick in Locket; Bordeaux lipstick from Bite Beauty; & OPI nail polish in I Sing in Color.
Always taking selfies to send to my boyfriend. Simple dinner of pan seared salmon with toasted garlic, dill, & lemon...with roasted cauliflower. I wore this dress to my 2 week pre-op appointment with my plastic surgeon.
And also to see a nurse to get a bunch of tiny bumps on my skin (sebaceous hyperplasia) electrocuted with a needle...it was painful, but they are gone. Also, I made 2 almond cakes.

Shitty Barn Season Announce Show // Sal's on Livingston

Dress: Abstract Wrap Maxi Dress by Hutch (size 1x) via Nuuly
Tights: Snag
Shoes: Express
Earring: Wendy Baker
Necklace: Colleen Toland
Bracelet: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 41-39-53
Gorgeous true wrap dress...ran slightly big, but the overall fit was fantastic. The higher hemline in front showed just the right amount of leg to be sexy & the neckline was a nice deep v with a hook to keep it closed...so much nicer than having to use a safety pin. And I do love a dramatic sleeve.
I already liked this dress, but adding all those pops of red made it even more spectacular in my eyes.
I get SO much wear out of these $5 clearance shoes...they are the most true red shoes I own.
My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Goddess; Young Love, Turn On, Ambitious, & Drunk Dial eyeshadow by UD; UD lipliner in 714; Russian Red lipstick from MAC; & OPI nail polish in A Kiss on the Chic.
I first wore this dress to see the Shitty Barn announce show at the Slowpoke in Spring Green. Luke Callen with Hemma opening.
Davina & her boys playing live on Facebook. And I made dinner...Sunday Brisket from Molly Baz & Alison Roman's Creamy Cauliflower & Onion Gratin.
I wore this outfit again during Wisconsin Film Fest...& to have dinner at Sal's on Livingston with David. It was unplanned, so we didn't have reservations & had to wait for a table over at Dark Horse. We had fabulous cocktails...me with a Cosmo-Not (Rokker vodka, Clockwork Orange, citrus syrup, cranberry, lime) & David enjoying an Atomic Ginger Bot (Wild Turkey 101, Jamaican Bitters #1, ginger syrup, lemon, lime, ginger beer).
Wisco Old Fashioned for my second drink (Wollersheim Press House brandy, bitters, sugar, cherry, orange, Sprite) & David with a Kiwing Me Softly (State Line London dry gin, chartreuse yellow, orgeat, kiwi, lemon, celery bitters, soda water). Then back next door to have dinner at Sal's...with a few more cocktails (it seems like we drink a lot, doesn't it?). David had a Whisper of Smoke (Ardbeg 10 year scotch, chartreuse green, Luxardo maraschino liqueur, lemon juice)...& me with a taste of summer in a glass, Sal's Spritzer (Death's Door gin, Thatcher's blood orange liqueur, Aperol, lemon juice, simple syrup, Cune cava).
Finally, food! We ordered our favorites, Beef Tartare & Jalapeño Popper Duck...followed by a new-to-us tomato pie, Spanakopita (spinach cream, feta, kalamata olives, red onion, fried chickpeas, chive)...this was one of the best pizzas we have ever had there...I think it's the spinach cream. Finally, I finished the evening with our favorite drink from last time, Moody Blue (Plantation 3-Star rum, St. Elizabeth allspice dram, blueberry syrup, pineapple juice, lime juice, coconut cream).

Christian Lee Hutson // Bright Eyes

Dress: Tiered Maxi Shirtdress by Anthropologie (size 1x) via Nuuly
Tights: Snag
Shoes: Crown by Born, thrifted
Earrings: etXarte
Necklace: former Etsy shop
Fluer-de-lis bracelet: Vintage
Other bracelet: Wendy Baker
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 41-39-53
I wonder what appealed to me about this dress? I'm not a fan of horses or shirtdresses...how odd. I'm always drawn to a quirky print though, so it was fun to wear. It was well made & lined...with pockets. This was too big on me, but oh so comfortable...even in the proper size, it is meant to be loose fitting. If I am ever dragged to Medieval Times, I know just the dress to don as I cheer on our knight.
I decided to play up the gold in the dress with my accessories & shoes.
Classic red lip, neutral eye make-up...& my metal jewelry so often gets passed over for more colorful selections...it's nice to see it.
My make-up with this outfit included...NYX eyeliner in Deep Blue, Urban Decay Naked 2 palette, UD lipliner in 714, Spiderweb lipstick by UD, & OPI nail polish in A Kiss on the Chic.
I enjoyed the Spyhouse coffee I had in Minneapolis so much, I ordered a few bags. I was unsure which coffee Jason & I had been served, so I tried calling the store & the man who answered asked who had waited on me...was it a fabulously dressed gay guy (obviously talking about himself)...which I found hilarious & was sad to have to say no. I split the bags with Jason as a thank you for driving & was interested in our differences of what our favorites were. I liked Bold & The Beautiful, while he preferred Osmin Reyes...we were probably given Orion as it's their signature blend...but no matter...they were all amazing. Me cooking dinner...Yogurt-Crusted Lamb Chops with Charred Lemon & Sesame from Alison Roman, served with Charred Cabbage with Salty Peanuts & Nuoc Cham from Molly Baz.
I wore this outfit to see Christian Lee Hutson open for Bright Eyes. I've never been more than a casual fan of Bright Eyes, but I adore Christian Lee Hutson. I think I was introduced to him because Spotify thought I'd like him...& I do! His voice reminds me a bit of Elliott Smith.
Bright Eyes put on a decent show...it would have been better if Conor Oberst hadn't been drunk/high...but from what I read online, that is typical. My necklace has a picture of Shane in it & it kept opening during the show...I guess he must have liked it & wanted to watch with me? The next day...the final indoor market with David...stocking up on pork from Cliff of Rockwell Ridge.
I like a variety of sparkling water flavor options...the only time I go into Woodmans. And another delicious dinner...both recipes from Cook This Book by Molly Baz: Crispy McCrisperson Chicken Thighs with Herby Peas & Fennel served with Caramelized Fennel with Parmy Frico.

Zebra Work Dress

Dress: Inky Zebra Perfect Wrap Dress by Leota (size 1x) via Gwynnie Bee
Tights: Snag
Shoes: 9 West
All Jewelry: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 41-39-53
While I typically like these Leota wrap dresses, I found this zebra print with slashes of yellow a bit boring...but great for work. I guess there was just too much white for me? Great fitting dress, perfect length.
I did like being able to wear yellow accessories...I don't break them out nearly enough.
It was snowing on this day back in March...so we ducked into the library for these shots. We usually end up using this location several times throughout winter...but I think this was the only time this year.
My make-up with this outfit included...NYX eyeliner in Jet Black; Dark Horse, Creep, Sidecar, & Half Baked eyeshadow from Urban Decay; UD lipliner in 714; Santa Sangre lipstick by Kat von D; & OPI nail polish in Red Heads Ahead.
I wore this dress to work & to do some shopping at the co-op in the snow. The sexiest chef ever, Marco Pierre White...I didn't find much in his cookbook I was interested in making though.
Picking up some meat at Conscious Carnivore...these pork chops caught my eye...I may have to take inspiration from them. I had been enjoying Wordle, so I starting doing Quordle every day too...I hated it at first since I never found all 4 words...but now I do every time. We got a smoking gun last year & finally tried it out on some Hooks 5 year cheddar...yum. And a delicious dinner with recipes by Alison Roman...Crispy-Skin Salmon with Fennel & Green Romesco, served with Hard-Roasted Spiced Cauliflower.
