Black, White, & Purple

Dress: Chevron Printed Fit & Flare Dress by Taylor Dresses (size 24) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month for $10 & help me earn an extra garment for a month)
Cardigan: Talbots (found at Savers)
Socks: Sock Dreams
Shoes: Dansko
Necklace & Bracelet: Age Before Beauty
Earring: etXarte
Photography: Super Boo & Me (Canon Rebel & iPhone)
I wore this outfit to work. This dress is the perfect winter weight & I adore the fit & flare style. And what a fun pattern! I also enjoyed the texture. While it's a lot of white for me, the 60s vibe made it totally work. Taylor Dresses runs big, so I size down one in this brand. My only complaint about this dress is a GB issue...they seem to get dresses, then keep them around on hangers for a while before releasing them...so if you are the first person to get a heavier dress, it has weird shoulder bumps...which I am sure go away after a laundering. I have already closeted this dress again to wear with other colors...perhaps orange.
I love these purple textured socks.
I clearly need more purple jewelry.

Farmers' Market Saturday

Dress: Work The Angle Dress in Geometric Chevron Print by Poppy & Bloom (size 4x) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month for $10 & help me earn an extra garment for a month)
Tights: Catherines
Shoes: Dansko
Necklace & Earring: Babil & Bijou
Photography: Super Boo & Me (Canon Rebel & iPhone)
I wore this dress to our indoor farmers' market where we listened to our favorite local band & Kate did yoga in a dress. Oh, and bought veggies. I loved the fit & style of this dress, as well as the fabric...but I hated the print, too aztec for me. It's a shame because I really adore Poppy & Bloom's dresses...they are well made & use such lovely material.
After buying our vegetables, we sat & listened to The Sills for a bit. It was just last year that we discovered them at this very farmers' market...so we appreciate them getting up early for this.
Then Kate did yoga in a dress...I don't remember the pose. This little boy found it fascinating as he walked around & around her...it was hilarious...I had to take a video. I love Kate's laughing face here.
A bit of red make-up to play against the blue...

So much white...

Green & Orange, My 2 Favorite Colors

Dress: Venice Abstract Fit & Flare by Flutter (size 4x) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month for $10 & help me earn an extra garment for a month)
Cardigan: Lane Bryant
Tights: Catherines
Socks: Sock Dreams
Shoes: Born
Necklace: Babil & Bijou
Earring: Wendy Baker
Bracelet: Vintage

I wore this outfit to work. I like the the new GB house brand fit & flares, I only wish they were a few inches longer & v-neck. The colors in this dress were gorgeous & I liked the fabric.
Any dress that has both orange & green in it, my two favorite colors, is probably going to be a hit with me.
Flower accessories to go with the floral print.

The Second Time I Fell in Love, It Was With A House

Dress: Rashida Dress in Abstract Print by Igigi (size 26/28) via Gwynnie Bee (click my link to get your first month for $10 & help me earn an extra garment for a month)
Tights: Catherines
Shoes: Payless (found at Savers)
Necklace: Amy Hanna
Bracelet: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo & Me (Canon Rebel & iPhone)
I wore this dress to visit our house for the second time & on a different day for work. This dress was rather marvelous...a great cut & lovely fabric. I could have sized down as it was slightly too big on me. I loved the shades of red & burgundy with a smattering of unexpected Robin's Egg Blue. I'm wearing burgundy tights here, but they seem to be showing up more black on my screen.
The first time I fell in love, it was with a dog. I was 6. The second time I fell in love, it was with a house. I was 8. I didn't fall in love with a person until I was 12. It was Boy George. When I was 14 I fell in love with my best friend, Shane. When we talk about falling in love, it is usually romantic love. I'm sure there is a word for this non-romantic love in a more flowery language, but I don't have a word for it. All of these times I was in love, my heart fluttered & I felt like I couldn't get enough of my object of desire...I felt crazy...& I felt wonderful. Birds followed me around singing...& pecking at my heart. As horribly wonderful as it is, I wish it would happen to me more often. It makes me feel alive & that life is the most splendid gift.
I fell in love with a house last month (selfie above taken there). It's only the second house I've ever loved. Both times it happened, it was unexpected & sudden. I started to write a bunch of details about the houses...but realized...it doesn't matter. These houses got inside me & became a part of me...the way things & people you love do. There is no explaining it...you just know...there is that spark. I have walked around these 2 houses in my mind countless times. I've left a part of me in each of them even though neither of them ever belonged to me & never will. But part of me belongs to them.
I know this may seem silly & dramatic...but I love with all my heart when it happens. So, this house I fell in love with last month will never belong to me, & I'm grieving.

When I Am An Old Woman I Shall Wear Purple (but not with a red hat)

Dress: Eggplant Print dress by Jessica Howard (size 24) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month for $10 & help me earn an extra garment for a month)
Cardigan: Talbots (3x)
Teggings: Re/Dress
Socks: Sock Dreams
Shoes: Dansko
Necklace: Jody McGill
Earrings: The Gilded Gypsies
Bracelet: Age Before Beauty
Photography: Super Boo & Me (Canon Rebel & iPhone)
I wore this purple outfit to work & run errands with Super Boo. I don't wear a lot of purple...why?! I loved this Jessica Howard dress & am wondering, yet again...why didn't I buy it?! Like all dresses from this brand, it bunched up in the middle of the collar which is always annoying & there was a pointless zipper up the back. Also, it ran a tad smaller than any of the other Jessica Howard dresses I've had & I wished it weren't so clingy. Hmmm, I guess I know why I didn't buy it. However...the color, print, and fit & flare cut were amazing & if it ever shows up in the GB Shop for $20, it will be mine!
How amazing is this cardigan?? I found it at Savers for $5 ($99 retail)! I've been looking for a purple cardigan just this shade, & there it was. It's from Talbots & the Merino wool is soooo soft & warm. And speaking of bargains...I found the Dansko shoes I'm wearing at a garage sale last summer for either $2 or $4.
Look how nicely the socks & cardigan go together. The stone in the necklace is also dark purple.

The Girls of GB Milwaukee Gathering

Dress: Francesca Dress in Mocha Leopard by Igigi (size 26/28) via Gwynnie Bee (click link to get your first month for $10 & help me earn an extra garment for a month)
Tights: Catherines
Shoes: Dansko
Necklace: Wendy Baker
Earring: Babil & Bijou
Bracelet: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo, Me, & Eric (Canon Rebel & iPhone)
I wore this leopard (or is it cougar lust?) dress to The Girls of GB Milwaukee Gathering. I have a weakness for leopard print, but I'm also picky about what it should look like...this is a fantastic one. The fit, style, fabric feel...was all amazing. My only complaint about this dress is that the brown lining peeks out at the neckline. If it weren't for that, I would have added another leopard dress to my collection. It's impossible to not feel sexy when wearing (the right) leopard print.
Bright (barely) & early in the morning, I dropped Kate off at the bus so she could travel to Chicago & hop a train to visit her dad in St. Louis. This is her & a new (matching) friend.
That evening I drove to Milwaukee for The Girls of GB meet-up...ok, so it was just fellow admin, Heidi & I, who is the sweetest nicest person. I also got to meet her adorable husband & sister who happened to be sitting at the table next to us at the restaurant.
You can see the brown lining peeking out here...
Leopard & red, classic.

Thanksgiving

Dress: Courtney Dress in Sideways Chevron by Tart Collections (size 4x) via Gwynnie Bee (click link to get your first month for $10 & help me earn an extra garment for a month)
Cardigan: Lane Bryant (found at Savers)
Socks: Sock Dreams
Shoes: Romika (found at Savers)
Necklace: Age Before Beauty
Earring: etXarte
Bracelet: former etsy seller
Photography: Super Boo & Me (Canon Rebel & iPhone)
I wore this outfit to this year's Friendsgiving. I broke with my usual   tradition of wearing autumn colors on Thanksgiving to wear this super comfortable modal blue stained glass dress. The fit of this was extremely flattering & I liked the just below knee length. It seems like a summer pattern to me, but it has long sleeves. This was my first Tart dress, & after feeling this dress...I want to try more.
I got both the cardigan & shoes on sale at Savers for $5 each.
Dogs! Molly & Sadie are Angie & Toby's dogs...& the fluffy pup on Angie's lap is their foster dog, Shirley.
So much delicious food! Angie made almost all of it...I brought bourbon pecan sweet potatoes that were too sweet for me. Angie spatchcocked the bird & it was fantastically moist with crispy skin.
After dinner we played Game of Things, which is similar, but better, than Cards Against Humanity...as you make up your own answers instead of using cards. Since there were 11 of us, we had to alter the rules a bit & have the reader pick their favorite answer instead of going around the table & having people guess who wrote down which answer.
I love the ruffles around the edges of this cardigan.
