A Weekend of Marvelous Music

Dress: Brigitte Dress in Blueberry Edging by Cherry Velvet via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month free & help me earn GB credit)
Teggings: Re/Dress
Sandals: Born
Earring, Necklace, & Bracelet: Wendy Baker
Photography: Super Boo, Kate, & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
I adore Cherry Velvet dresses...they are the perfect summer frock in cotton. I really feel like I can wear them anywhere...dressed up or down. Is this my favorite style of theirs? It might be. This particular pattern was a bit too pink girlie cutesy bitty flowers for me...I loved the lime green leaves though, but they don't show up very well. I've also worn this style in Berry Macarons, Coral Zebras, & Flags
Sadly, this will be my last photo shoot at this location...I've long been infatuated by this big glass block wall & I will miss it. They started remodeling this old building last year...but when we drove by it yesterday, there was a chainlink fence all around...so no more popping by for pictures.
The back of this dress is fantastic.
My make-up with this outfit included...NYX Faux Blacks eyeliner in Midnight, Junkshow & Disco eyeshadow by Urban Decay, NYX Avant Pop! Art Throb eyeshadow palette, Quince lipstick by Bite Beauty, UD lipstick in Big Bang, & Limeade Vinylux nail polish by CND.
Wine tasting with the girlie before heading over to The Edgewater to meet Angie to see Charlie Parr. Girlies by the water.
I wasn't looking forward to the opening band, Them Coulee Boys, but they were quite good & I look forward to seeing them again. I'm not sure why I didn't like what I listened to by them online. The sangria was yummy, but the fish fry was barely edible.
Kate dancing to Charlie Parr...& my first ever boomerang...
It was a hot sticky day outside, so I put this dress on again (breathable cotton, heavenly) a few days later to see Davina & the Vagabonds with Kate at Orton Park Fest. We stood right in front & she came over to say hi to me before the show *fan girl squee*...I am SO excited to see her at Shitty Barn next summer. It was a weekend of marvelous music.

Dave Rawlings Machine

Dress: Pretty Graphic Printed Chiffon Maxi Dress by City Chic (size XXL/24)
Cardigan: Denim 24/7, thrifted
Sandals: Born
Earring: etXarte
Necklace: Babil & Bijou, former etsy shop
Bracelets: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
I bought this ethereal frock during an after the holidays sale late last year. When I have no Gwynnie Bee at home...I'm forced to wear my own clothes (of which I have too many). I adore this maxi...I felt like a princess wearing it...the material flowed around me as I walked & the colors were lovely & delicate. The smocking in front & back gave this maxi a pleasing shape & a comfortable fit. And the high/low hem was the perfect length for me. But really...it's all about the pretty.
A slight train for the muffin queen.
I was so enamored with the movement of this dress that I had David take a video...yet, I don't think it adequately shows it off as I couldn't seem to walk correctly since I knew I was being recorded...
Delightful matching flowers in the background...
My make-up with this outfit included...NYX Pretty Violet eyeliner; Kat von D eyeshadow in Fran, Legend, & Echo; Beat Down eyeshadow by Urban Decay; Bite Beauty lipstick in Burgundy; & OPI nail polish in I Carol About You & Peel Me a Gobi Grape.
I wore this pretty maxi to see Dave Rawlings Machine with Angie in the gorgeous Capitol Theatre. I felt fortunate that Toby didn't want to miss his last drawing class & that she asked me to take his place...they were marvelous...the only thing that could have made it better was if it had taken place at The Shitty Barn. However...Angie scored 5th row tickets which was amazing.

Frank Catalano & Jimmy Chamberlin

Dress: Farrah Maxi Dress by SWAK (size 3x), gifted
Sandals: Alegria, gift from David
Earring & Necklace: Babil & Bijou, former etsy shop
Bracelet: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
This dress was gifted to me last year by SWAK for Marcy's Size 22+ Style Lookbook. And I finally wore it out, though the photos are from last year. I was immediately drawn to this colorful maxi with the stunning patterns & was sad when I found out they were out of my size...so I took a chance & had them send me a 3x...& it fit beautifully. I loved this dress so much, that I ordered another one in a different colorway...that I have yet to wear. A perfect goddess maxi.
The above shot is my favorite of this series.
I don't have any makeup information as I never took photos of it, but it seems I represented all the colors in the dress on my eyes.
I wore this maxi to The Shitty Barn to see Frank Catalano & Jimmy Chamberlin with Angie. Second in line! We've been having to sit in front off to the side this year because the barn has become more popular & people are getting there earlier...but I beat the rush on this day.
Tacos & a selfie. I wore a different earring & shoes to the barn...but I prefer last year's choices. Two black chairs...front & center...just as I prefer. Another glorious evening of music...

A View From the Bridge

Dress: Psychedelic Print Dress in Red by Gabby Skye (size 24) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month free & help me earn GB credit)
Teggings: Re/Dress
Sandals: Auditions, thrifted
Earring: etsy
Necklace: Wendy Baker
Bracelets: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
Superb color combo on this dress...I especially liked the bits of purple-y mauve...of which I had a near exact nail polish match...those things always delight me. The print was a bit all over the place for me, but was fun for a wear. This dress was a tad big on top, but a great fit on the bottom...that happens a lot to me as I'm pear shaped...pretty, colorful fit & flare with pockets.
These vintage bakelite & lucite bracelets in all the colors are my new favorite thing...as if you hadn't noticed.
I wonder what this fantastic old building in Spring Green is?
My make-up with this outfit included...NYX eyeliner in Pretty Violet & Lime Green, Misfit & Vinyl eyeshadow from Kat von D, Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Santa Sangre, & OPI nail polish.
I had a 20% off coupon for Ulta...so I had to get a few things. This amazing package of floral delights came in the mail a few weeks ago & I forgot to share the photo. I'm in love, as usual.
I wore this outfit to see a play at American Players Theatre with David...Arther Miller's A View From the Bridge...which was marvelous...but my favorite Miller play is still All My Sons...if you ever get the chance to see it...go.

Sunny Sunflower Sunday

Dress: Angelina Dress in Black Floral Stems by Cherry Velvet (size 4x) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month free & help me earn GB credit)
Teggings: Re/Dress
Sandals: Born
Earring & Necklace: Wendy Baker
Bracelet: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo, Kate, Jason, & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
I wanted to fall in love with this gorgeous dress & keep it forever...but sadly, the Angelina style just doesn't work with my body...I've also worn this dress in Scotty dog houndstooth...this style is much more fitted in the waist & runs a size smaller than most other Cherry Velvet dresses on me. Otherwise, it's perfect...a silky material rather than the typical cotton CV & just a lovely dress for any summer occasion...with the darker floral print, it would easily transition into the cooler months with a cardigan. I love the way the pretty flowers drop away leading up to the hem...a totally charming frock.
Sunny sunflower Sunday...I've wanted to check out Pope Farm Conservancy for several years now during their Sunflower Days (the one week peak of the blooms)...& we finally made it on the last day...I still think they look stunning. Over half a million sunflowers covering 9 acres...dazzling happy flowers.
We turn our backs to you.
I've got my arms around my friends...
Well, hello there...
Debuting my new floral necklace & earring from the talented Ms. Wendy...
My makeup with this outfit included...Esmerelda eyeliner by NYX, Kat von D eyeshadow in Fran & Legend, Cotton Candy & Totally Fetch eyeshadow from Too Faced, the darker green shadow from the Art Throb NYX palette, NYX blush in Summer, NYX lipliner in Fuchsia, Big Bang lipstick by Urban Decay, & OPI nail polish in You're A Pisa Work.
Indian buffet before flowers...David often ends up wearing my hat since it's always in the car...he looks fetching in it, doesn't he?
After flowers...I checked out the very first Makeshift Festival with Kate & her man...there was a lot of delicious sounding food...but I was still full from lunch. There were also drinks & art to savor. It's so wonderful having my girlie back.

The Crane Wives & Carrie Rodriguez

Dress: Brigitte Dress in Berry Macarons by Cherry Velvet (size 4x) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month free & help me earn GB credit)
Teggings: Re/Dress
Shoes: Converse, thrifted
Earring: etXarte
Necklace: Wendy Baker
Photography: Super Boo, Kate, Angie, & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
I am not a big fan of pink & I hate macarons...but I love Cherry Velvet, so I had to try this dress. Adorable. I'm a pink convert...I have to admit it looks good on me & stop hating on the pink. This is not something that would have happened if not for Gwynnie Bee...GB opened me up to trying new things...styles & colors I never previously considered. And look at me...I even have pink accessories...the necklace is courtesy of the lovely Wendy Baker...& I thrifted the shoes knowing an outfit would eventually come along that they'd be perfect for.
I love the back on this style, which I've also worn in zebras & flags.  The fit on this is excellent...great flare & length.
I haven't worn Converse since the 80s, & now I own 3 pairs.
My make-up with this outfit included...NYX eyeliner in Gypsy Blue, Urban Decay eyeshadow in Junkshow & Dust, Quince lipstick by Bite Beauty, & I Sea You Wear OPI nail polish by OPI.
Olive at the private dog park...she LOVES playing in the pool...
O!M!G! My girlie returned while I was in Michigan...she didn't hike the whole 6 months, but she was ready to come home. She left again a few days ago to finish up the Appalachian Trail in Maine with a friend she met while she was out there...but she'll only be gone 2 weeks. I missed her SOOOOOOO much!
Kate day...lunch...& then later...Shitty Barn with Angie. I love that smiling face...life is more fun & ridiculous with your bezzer.
We adored The Crane Wives last year & were thrilled to be able to see them again.
