An American in Paris

Dress: Dominique Dress in Emerald Escape by Igigi (size 26/28) via Gwynnie Bee Try Then Buy
Shoes: Ann Taylor Loft, thrifted
Earring: former Etsy shop
Necklace & Bracelet: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-70
I remember when Gwynnie Bee first got this dress in 2014...I *needed* it & I got lucky...they sent it to me right away...then I promptly wore it...6 years later. I have a bunch of Igigi dresses...they used to be one of my favorite brands. The fit is always great & I like wrap dresses as they conform to your body. What appealed to me most about this dress was the true green color & fantastic print.
I wanted to add another color to the green/black/white palette...so of course I picked orange, the color of fun.
And check out this matching brooch...how could I not have worn that with this dress?!
My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Mars; Poppy, Azalea, Laurel, & Agate eyeshadows by Natasha Denona; NYX lipliner in Pumpkin; Treat liquid lip color by Sugarpill; & CND Vinylux nail polish in Fine Vermillion.
There is a channel on YouTube called, The Shows Must Go On! And they've been showing musical theatre for months now...I watched this charming version of Gershwin's An American in Paris...so many classics...I Got Rhythm, 'S Wonderful, They Can't Take That Away From Me...& a bunch more tunes you've heard of. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Carsie Blanton doing her monthly live show to raise the rent for the boys in her band...one of which grew a mustache...Joe, why'd you have to grow that mustache?! Carsie has a song about that that she dedicated to him. Look how adorable she is!
Saturday night Late Bar show, Planet Earth...with Japan & The Cramps. Davina adopted a doggie! And Sunday's with Glenn Crytzer...this week doing songs from 1923.
A video chat with the girlie...hi, girlie! Terry Douglas Band playing on Midland Theatre's FB page...a new to me band. And Rainbow Girls covering a Green Day song.

I Wear This Crown of Flowers

Dress: Meredith Dress in Rouge Amour by Igigi (size 26/28) via Gwynnie Bee Try Then Buy
Leggings: Torrid (size 4x)
Shoes: Born
Earring & Necklace: Wendy Baker
Bracelets: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo, Kate, & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
I last wore this dress during autumn of 2015...again with the orange shoes...but all my other accessories were different. Such gorgeous colors in this Igigi dress...my only issue with it is the surplice neckline is too big on me & gapped open without the use of fashion tape. Putting a few stitches in would solve that problem.
I'm sort of in love with these leggings with this dress...& pretty flowering trees.
Hi, Bucky! There are 85 Bucky Badger (University of Wisconsin-Madison mascot) statues across the city for the summer...jazzed up by local artists. This one was done by Emmalee Pearson...she's a mutual friend of Angie & Toby...& the person responsible for getting them together.
My make-up with this outfit included...Alkaline eyeliner by Urban Decay; Anastasia eyeshadow in Primavera, Venetian Red, Love Letter, & Realgar; Love+ & Flamepoint eyeshadow from Sugarpill; Habanero lipstick by MAC; & Now Museum, Now You Don't nail polish by OPI.
I'd been eyeing this chick's fabulous collection of vintage Selro jewelry for sale on etsy & eBay...& finally decided on orange, the color of fun...& yellow, the color of happiness. So gorgeous!
Another Bucky on my way to Monona Terrace for the Mini Maker Faire. Metal fire breathing dragon!
This absolutely lovely woman, Mary Jo...grows flowers on her farm, sells them at the Westside Farmers' Market, & designs fabulous floral creations. Kate & I were looking forward to taking her class on making flower crowns, however...they told her they didn't have the space for that...so it was only a demonstration. But! At the end she picked 3 numbers & those people could pick a prize...one of them being the flower crown she made in the demo. The first woman picked a succulent...what?! I was the second person!!! Guess what I picked?????
This gorgeous crown was mine...all mine! I was giddy with excitement to be able to wear it the rest of the day.
It felt natural...like I should always be wearing a crown of flowers.
Wine tasting group...Kate's contribution...
I'd grow flowers on my head if I could...girlies tasting wine...so much wine.
Look who joined us at wine tasting! David & Kate share the flower crown...

Labyrinth

Dress: Elsa Dress from Igigi (size 26/28) via Gwynnie Bee Shop
Tights: We Love Colors in Teal
Shoes: Dansko, gift from David
Earring: Wendy Baker
Necklace: Babil & Bijou, former etsy shop
Bracelets: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo, Kate, & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
I bought this Igigi dress quite a while back from the GB Shop (I'm just guessing, really...I can never remember where I get things). I last wore it in December 2014, & in March of that same year. I looked SO much younger 4 years ago! Another great old Igigi frock with a faux obi waistband, lovely length, & modest neckline in a pretty purple & blue watercolor print.
I really really want to like these shoes David got me (I also have them in pink)...but I think they're just too conservative for me.
I thought it was pretty funny that I chose the same necklace AND nail polish to wear with this dress as I did the very first time.
My make-up with this outfit included...Gypsy Blue eyeliner by NYX; Urban Decay eyeshadow in Alter, Druggie, Fringe, & Sinful; NYX Lip Palette in The Plums; & Rockin' My JuJu nail polish from Colors by Llarowe.
I wore this dress on three different days...first, to see Labyrinth with Kate during my birthday weekend...we both love that movie. David Bowie as the Goblin King *swoon*. Then Thai food for dinner...
A week later on a busy Saturday...farmers' market with the girlie, a random woman with awesome elephant pants, & dropping ramps, shiitake mushrooms, & asparagus off for Maggie to take pictures of for my farmers' market tattoo.
When I was done with market...David & I headed to Milwaukee to check out ReStore & Waste Cap for fun stuff. They had this decorative tin at ReStore, but we think we already have enough (to cover our dining room & living room ceiling)...so for the first time, we left with nothing. We did find this wedding cake-like glass shade & a marvelous cameo woman light fixture (for our hallway entrance) at Waste Cap...then a Hawaiian burger at Oscar's.
As soon as we got back to Madison, we took these outfit shots...then I was off to the drive-in with Kate & Jason to see Avengers Infinity War & Black Panther (although we decided we didn't want to get home at 2am, so we left after Avengers). Check out the three vehicles in back of us...their drive-in game was strong...a truck bed full of pillows, cushy canoes, & a mattress in another truck bed.
On the last day of this dress...David & I went to Half Price Books to sell a box of books...I needed to take a photo of this Etgar Keret book so I'd remember to look it up. He wrote a short story that was turned into one of my favorite film fest movies, Wristcutters...& I think he's an amazing writer. Also...Indian buffet & Savers.

You Worry About Its Success

Dress: Dominique Dress in Cerise Curve by Igigi (size 26/28) via eBay or GB resellers
Teggings: Re/Dress
Shoes: Earth, thrifted
Earring: etXarte
Necklace: Me
Bracelets: Vintage
Photography: Super Boo, Kate, & Me
Stats: 5'7" 55-50-64
I originally wore this dress when I had it from GB back in 2015...I bought it last year from either eBay or one of the GB resellers. This was one of my favorite styles from Igigi (they are still around, but so different since they were bought out that I don't even consider them when thinking about places to buy clothes) & I adore this pattern & am wowed by the color combination. This dress is basically flawless.
These Earth shoes I found at Savers are some of the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn.
I made this necklace years ago & rarely wear it...but every once in a while I like to force myself to wear something that doesn't get out often.
The makeup I wore with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Alkaline, Love+ & Flamepoint eyeshadow from Sugarpill, Anastasia eyeshadow in Primavera, NYX lip palette in The Reds, & Santa Monica Beach Peach nail polish by OPI.
I wore this dress to attend Gallery Night with Kate. We decided to go to the museum that plans the event, MMoCA...where I found this fun twisty scarf, a metal letter M, & a wise beer can.
Isn't this painting spectacular?! I'd love to sit a while in this room full of excess & trinkets. It's titled, Casual Chic.
This was my favorite painting of the evening, You Worry About Its Success, by Hollis Sigler. It reminds me of a magical evening at APT where the stage is set & we are waiting for the play to begin.
Girlie seated in a creepy little house...other girlie peering in the window. Shane would have loved that painting of Rudolph Valentino in his coffin. After arting, there was eating at Himal Chuli.

The Legendary Shack Shakers with Jesse Dayton

I never got photos of this outfit other than the ones Jason took of me & Kate...but this is the one & only Shitty Barn show the girlie & I will go to together this year...so these pictures are perfect. Also, I put this outfit together for a cold spring night...not the way I would have worn it out & about. Unless it was a cold spring night at a concert in a barn.
Aw, girlie...I miss her so. She is gone for 6 months hiking the Appalachian Trail. If you want to follow her adventures, add her on Instagram...kisforkate. She was supposed to be gone for this show, but since her kitty was sick & she postponed it...she was here...so I nabbed a ticket from a guy who couldn't go & surprised her.
Enos Farms just does tacos all the time now...which is fine with me as they are delicious...I had a pork taco. Cute Angie & Toby.
Kate & I braved wine in a can. Backpack wine in a can seemed appropriate for her upcoming trip. Verdict...it was alright. Kate is a wine snob, so I am used to drinking good wine with her now...spoiled.
Full of cuteness...
Alan introducing the first band...Jesse Dayton. Everyone was dressed up because it was Derby Day & apparently that's a thing in Spring Green. I'm not sure why...other than Wisconsin will use any excuse to drink...so that is probably why.
J.D. Wilkes & The Legendary Shack Shakers...we see them whenever they come around...such great energy.
Above photo...note, J.D. is bleeding...but why I took this was because Angie pointed out to me that Marcus Truschinski was standing in the back (white shirt & bow tie)...he's my favorite actor at American Players Theatre...it was just odd to have these two worlds collide.
