Winter Pop of Color

Dress: Baroque Print Fit & Flare Dress by Taylor Dresses (size 24) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month for free/$10 & help me earn an extra garment for a month)
Cardigan: Relativity (thrifted from Savers)
Leggings: Roamans
Socks: Sock Dreams
Shoes: Fluevog
Earring: Wendy Baker
Photography: Super Boo (Canon Rebel)
I wore this pattern mixed ensemble to work. I adore these Taylor winter dresses...such nice heavy comfortable fabric & fun patterns. I wish all fit & flares were made this way...princess seams give a tailored fit with no waist line & a lovely twirly skirt. I felt this long cold winter needed a pop of color, so I threw on this brand new cardigan I found at Savers for $4.

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street

Dress: Fit & Flare Sweater Dress with Contrasting Hem by Taylor Dresses (size 3x) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month for free {or $10} & help me earn an extra garment for a month)
Skirt: Lane Bryant
Tights: Catherines
Shoes: Ariat
Bracelet: Vintage
Earring: etXarte
Photography: Super Boo, Kate, & Me (Canon Rebel & iPhone)
I wore this mini dress to do secret errands & see Sweeney Todd with Kate, then again the next day for work. I originally ran out of the house with just this dress on...but I noticed in Michaels bathroom that if I lifted my arms at all...my belly popped out from under the hem. It was really short on me at 5'7". So black skirt to the rescue. The mismatched animal & chevron prints on this dress were divine, as were the creme & black together...so much softer on the eye than white. The sleeves & bottom half of this dress seemed stretched out, as both were ill-fitting & I could have used another 5 inches in length. This is just above the knee on the GB model, so I am not sure what happened.
The art gallery space leading up to the Capitol Theatre had the most fantastic pieces by Amy Bethel . Stunning. I wish I had heard about it sooner so we could have attended the opening reception & met the artist.
 More steampunk fabulousness.
The gorgeous Capitol Theatre inside the Overture Center. I got Kate & I 3rd row tickets to see the opera for her birthday.
Precious girlie! Or should I say...poor girlie! I wanted to surprise her, but she would have preferred I told her where we were going.
Sweeney Todd photos from The Isthmus review.
The singing was marvelous, but I particularly enjoyed baritone Corey Crider as the demon barber...he was extraordinary.
This is my favorite earring from the new batch of earrings that Teri made for me.

e's Bridal Shower

Dress: Melina Dress in Berry by Igigi
Tights: Catherines
Shoes: Simply Vera by Vera Wang
Necklace: former etsy seller
Earring: etXarte
Bracelet: Age Before Beauty
Photography: Kate, Me, & Angie (iPhone)
I wore this pretty pink & burgundy lacy number to elly's bridal shower. I bought this dress over a year ago for under $30 during an Igigi flash sale & this is the first time I've worn it. I thought it would be appropriate to wear to e's shower since she loves pink. The only size left in this was 30/32, so it's a bit big on me...but what a bargain! And paisley lace? Yes, please. Paisley is my favorite pattern & I don't have nearly enough of it in my closet.
 Kate wore purple lace.
There was a Star Wars theme for the bridal shower & the gifts.
While elly got some wonderfully thoughtful gifts (Le Creuset!), this framed picture drawn by her niece of e & Josh was my favorite. The cakes, they were amazing...chocolate cherry & tres leches, yum.
I love the vintage pull-down map in elly's parent's house.
 Paisley!

Spicy Ginger

Dress: Houndstooth Shift Dress by Karen Kane (size 3x) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month for $10 & help me earn an extra garment for a month)
Cardigan: Avenue
Teggings: Re/Dress
Socks: Sock Dreams
Shoes: John Fluevog
Necklace: Vintage
Earring: etXarte
Bracelet: Cindy Forrester
Photography: Super Boo & Me (Canon Rebel & iPhone)
I wore this outfit to a birthday party. Everyone on The Girls of GB loved this dress (& Karen Kane in general)...but as usual, shift dresses do nothing for me. I adored the pattern however, houndstooth is a favorite of mine & I love black & brown together. It occurs to me that I should put some effort into creating outfits. I often look at these photos & think...what was I thinking?!
How cute is that orange lantern in my drink?! I had never seen these before, so much more fun than boring umbrellas. And orange. Also, George Dickel & Spicy Ginger = YUM!
Angie made Jessica this lovely version of a Hostess cupcake cake. Much more creative. And what a perfect hostess...a variety of tampons to choose from laid out in the bathroom. I can't believe I didn't take any photos of our Cards Against Humanity game.
Another new earring from Teri...

Floral x 3

Top: Bevelyn Top by X-two (size 5x) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month for $10 & help me earn an extra garment for a month)
Skirt: Skater Skirt in Burgundy by Lucie Lu (size 5x)
Socks: Sock Dreams
Shoes: Payless via Savers
Earring: etXarte
Bracelet: Designs from the Deep (vintage 80s)
Photography: Super Boo & Me (Canon Rebel & iPhone)
I wore this floral outfit to work & run errands. I bought this skirt from GB back in December...it has a great subtle floral embossed pattern. The top had gorgeous colors, but I would have preferred if it hadn't had the tie, or even better...v-neck. I could have sized down in this top, but I suspect it still would have been too long. It was extremely comfortable & I wish I had worn it a second time a completely different way.
I wasn't actually wearing this outfit when Kate came over with 6 bottles of the same Riesling from different years, as it was the night before & I'm quite sure I was wearing some pilled dress with no bra. But it was fabulous fun to taste all these Rieslings & discover what a difference a year makes.
I loved my eyeshadow with this outfit.
I wear a lot of earrings made by Teri of etXarte, but it had been years since I'd gotten anything new from her. That all changed recently as she designed some gorgeous single earrings for me, including this one...

Kate's Champagne Birthday Brunch

Dress: V-Neck Fit & Flare by Taylor Dresses (size 24) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month for $10 & help me earn an extra garment for a month)
Tights: Catherines
Boots: Doc Marten (gift from Super Boo)
Necklace & Bracelet: Vintage
Earring: etXarte
Photography: Super Boo & Me (Canon Rebel & iPhone)
I wore this fancy frock to Kate's birthday brunch at our house. Disclaimer: these photos were taken the day before. I nearly always take pictures during the time I am actually wearing the dress, but I hadn't planned on wearing this except for photos. I was intending to send it back because in the privacy of my own home was the only place I could wear this dress...it was way too short & awkward fitting. The top was extremely tight (especially the arms) & the bottom was bigger & puffed out...making me look like a cupcake. But the green was incredibly gorgeous...so it made a brunch appearance.
This bottle was originally in the shot, but I kicked it out of the way...then kicked it back in because I thought it made a good prop. I am just down the street from Kate's house here...perhaps it's one of her bottles?
Vegetarian brunch...with bubbles! No people pictures because every one I snapped had people making unattractive chewing faces because the food was soooooo yummy.
Pretty birthday girlie in the snow...wearing a party dress that matches one of the bras she bought the day before.
Elegant Doc Martens...a present from Super Boo years ago that were recently excavated in my closet clean-out.
I love green & orange together.

Good Friends Are Like Bras

Dress: Chevron Printed Dress by Taylor Dresses (size 24) via Gwynnie Bee (use my link to get your first month for $10 & help me earn an extra garment for a month)
Cardigan: Avenue
Socks: Sock Dreams
Shoes: Dansko
Necklace & Bracelet: Vintage
Photography: Kate & Me (iPhone)
I wore this outfit to go bra shopping with the girlie. I liked this dress so much when I had it back in December, that I requested it again. The first go round, I paired it with purple, this time I went with my favorite color, orange. It's just the perfect amount of swingy for a fit & flare...& the fabric is a fantastic snuggly winter weight. I adore the 60s electric chevron print, but because of all that white, I just can't see myself owning this. Perhaps I'll add it back to my closet & give it one more wear before winter is over.
O!M!G! It's Kate...in pants! I talked her into buying these back in December when we went NYE dress shopping at Anthropologie. She looks ADORABLE in them!
Kate, still in pants...& the bra she came in with (Fitbit accessorized) & one of the bras she went home with. So! Many! Pretty! Bras! The last time we were at Contours Lingerie in the summer...I was also fitted, but I have enough bras so I just ooooooo-ed, aaahhhh-ed, & drank punch. Apparently, our conversation was amusing to one of the other ladies in the dressing room...that made me smile.
If you've never had a proper bra fitting at a place that specializes in bras...do it! A well fitted bra brings joy, also...
Good friends are like bras.
Orange!
