Lady Magpie's Wine & Crafts Soiree

Top: Studded 3/4 Sleeve Top in Orange by Karen Kane (3x) via Gwynnie Bee (sign up using my link & I get a free garment for a month)
Sandals: Born
Necklace: Vintage
Photography: Kate & Me (iPhone)
I dressed up in the color of fun, orange, to drive Super Boo to the airport in Milwaukee & to attend a girlie crafty night and again the next day to garage sale & dog park. The color of this top was perfection, the exact right shade for a summer orange, *sigh*...alas, I knew I wouldn't fall in love because the neckline, bottom, & sleeves were covered in metal dots. Studs aren't really my thing. The fabric on this felt amazingly soft & very lightweight...however, it didn't lay very nicely on me as you can see with all the wrinkles. Also, it had a hi-lo hem which didn't bother me, but it was a surprise as it was not shown or stated on the GB site. Oh, orange...how I love you.
Cute girlie also wearing GB...
Crafty night at Angie's house includes adorable cats & dogs that like to get right in the middle of things, why is that always so charming?? I worked on dividing a humungous garbage bag full of roving that Kate's friend Rebecca generously gave to us, while Kate immediately put some of it to use to start felting her quadropus...
I threw this same outfit on the next day & hit up some garage sales, here are some of my finds...the 8-tracks are going to be unraveled & the tape used to make our jellyfish project.
Olive romping at the dog park...
Orange make-up...
I don't have a lot of orange jewelry since it is a recent favorite color change, I do have a load of green, my previous favorite color that has now been bumped to second place :)

Testing Day

Top: Abby Twist Top in Teal Chevron by Kiyonna (size 4x) via Gwynnie Bee (click link to get a free month & help me earn a free garment for a month, offer ends September 30th)
Sandals: Born
Necklace: Vintage
Earring: etXarte
Photography: Super Boo & Me (iPhone)
I wore this outfit to take the most terrifying test of my life. Normally, I'm a fan of Kiyonna tops...they always fit me so well, show just the right amount (a lot) of cleavage, & are the perfect length. This one got all of that wrong. I think most of the problems could have been solved with one size smaller, however, this is the size I always wear in every piece of Kiyonna clothing. The neckline flopped over when I walked & especially when I sat down...a good bit of my bra hung out, the arms were humongous, & the length made me feel dowdy. In looking at these photos, I should have tucked the top into the skirt or gathered up all that material & pinned it with a brooch. Alas, I didn't have any head space to think about fashion on this day.
These pictures were taken right before we took the 4 hour Marriage & Family Therapist National Exam on August 18th, 6 weeks ago today. Super Boo & I studied...& studied...& it was horrible. We still do not know if we passed. Fingers crossed.
The colors in the top were so pretty, I would love to wear a wrap dress made with this fabric.

I'll Find A Way

Dress: Sleeveless Shirt Dress by MM2 (size 4x) via Gwynnie Bee (click link to get a free month & help me earn an extra garment for a month, offer ends September 30th)
Sandals: Earth
Necklace: Jody McGill
Earring: etXarte
Photography: Super Boo & Me (iPhone)
I wore this ensemble to run errands. This Melissa Masse dress had the most amazing chevron pattern & autumnal colors...so earth goddess. And the fabric felt lovely beneath my fingers. I had to be creative to make this wearable out of the house though, but if possible, I'll find a way! First of all, it didn't fit me below the waist...so I had to add a sari skirt. I only wore this in public for a brief time, but as you can see...I was hanging out all over as the first button on this was at the band of my plunge bra. I should have worn a brown camisole.
I am rather proud of this save...I think the colors in the dress & sari skirt look like they were meant to go together.
Thank goodness for Lane Bryant plunge bras!
I am in love with these Earth sandals I got at a garage sale for $5, brand new.

Pink Zebra at the Market

Dress: Geneva Wrap Dress in Zebra by Igigi via Gwynnie Bee (click link for a free month & help me earn a free garment for a month, offer ends September 30th)
Leggings: Roamans
Sandals: Dansko
All Jewelry: Vintage
Photography: Kate & Me (iPhone)
I wore this wrap dress to The Dane County Farmers' Market with the girlie & garage sale-ing. While this dress was lovely & I quite liked the band of pink on the bottom...so much white! Also, zebra print is just not me...I'm more of a leopard print girlie. This dress fit me well, but was a tad short to wear without leggings.
We stopped at a random house to snap pictures because...pretty flowers!
Garage sale loot...cutting board with lines, scarves, goddess for the garden, vintage necklace, & 2 bundt pans for our jellyfish project. Best find of the day...vintage 50s hat that was the woman's grandmothers...she told me she remembers her wearing it with a blue coat with mink trim.
Farmers' Market deliciousness.
Hellooooo flower!

Elks Teeth & Rabbits Feet

Dress: Essential Wrap Dress in Leopard Print by Kiyonna via Gwynnie Bee (click link to get a free month & help me earn a free garment for a month, offer ends September 30th)
Teggings: Re/Dress
Sandals: Clarks
All Jewelry: Babil & Bijou
Photography: Kate & Me (iPhone)
I wore this sexy wrap dress to see a band with Kate & Angie. I love these Kiyonna wrap dresses & one can never have too much leopard print...so I bought this dress. I adore dresses that can be worn all year & this is going to look adorable with cardigans in the winter...perhaps I'll even branch out & add an accent color other than red. This is a true wrap dress & tied right under my bust... created a flattering silhouette.
I'm not sure what was up with these gorgeous dead flowers, but they made a fabulous background.
Kate looking like a goddess in her ASOS dress from Gwynnie Bee.
Elks Teeth & Rabbits Feet at The High Noon. Otherwise known as Leah Brook Conway & Blair Clark of The Sills.
This hand stamp from The High Noon made me smile, we should all have You're Lovely written on our bodies at all times...for those occasions when we forget. Me drinking beer...doesn't happen so often...luckily, the girlie helped me finish it. Parting gifts on the way out the door...a rabbits foot & an elk tooth.
Garage sale treasures from the next morning...several Duran Duran albums, books, cookie cutters, & fancily framed man & wife.
 Carnival/Circus themed necklaces...

Heigh-Ho, Heigh-Ho, It's Off To Work I Go...

Dress: Skater Dress in Bright Floral by ASOS Curve (size 24)/Electric Animal Printed Dress by Triste (size 4x) via Gwynnie Bee (click link to get a free month, offer ends September 30th)
Black Sandals: Fluevogs
Chartreuse Sandals: Born
Photography: Super Boo & Me (iPhone)
I wore these two dresses to work in the same week. The ASOS skater dress is a style I normally like from them, however, this dress was drab...it could be because I dislike gray...but the fabric was also incredibly heavy. The cut was good & I liked the neon pops of color.
This animal print dress was a fun one time wear, but like all Triste...70s bedspread fabric. GB is re-doing their house brands, so there is no point reviewing what was.
A client surprised me with this bounty from her garden...
Super Boo & I had a picnic lunch from Jordandal Cookhouse. I love their Cubano! We buy all our meat from them at farmers' market.

Girlies Who Brunch...& take lots of photos

Dress: Polka Dot Dress with Collar in Black & Blue by Samya (size 30) via Gwynnie Bee (click link to get a free month & help me earn a free garment for a month, offer ends in October)
Sandals: Dansko & Born
Necklace (black): Age Before Beauty
Necklace (blue) & Earring: Babil & Bijou
Photography: Kate & Me (iPhone)
I wore these two dotty dresses on a Sunday in August to brunch & to hang art. I happened to get these 2 dresses at the same time right as they were released & I purchased the blue...because $15 for a brand new dress! They are made of a very thin cheap feeling polyester...the kind that wrinkles when you look at it, but the blue is just such a fun retro color. They were a bit big on me & the armholes were slightly too large, but they were so much fun to wear! I can't imagine these dresses are holding up to all the washings they get from GB.
The black dress had brunch with the girlie & I at Heritage Tavern. This was our first brunch there & we think we'll stick to dinner as it was not nearly as spectacular as we were expecting. Mmmmm...mimosa...
 The prettiest girlie ever!
After changing into this blue dress in the parking lot of my hair salon...we just couldn't find a spot that wasn't full of sun.
All the sun is shining on me...but I loved this yellow background! How cute would this dress be with yellow accessories?!
I wore this blue dress to pick up the art Super Boo & I had framed...& to go to our office to hang it on the walls. These are the prints in my office. All of the art is by Bruce Holwerda
These parades of characters hang in our waiting room...
Couples dancing in Super Boo's office...
I am in love with this artist's work!
