I wore this outfit to attend a journal making workshop with Kate. I LOVED the colors of this dress! The pattern & colors reminded me of a grandma's couch from the 70s...& to me that is a *good* thing. However, the fabric was like a couch slipcover I had at my first apartment in 1989...& that is *not* a good thing. The material is cheap & a sleazy motel bedspread. If that brings back fond memories, this dress is for you...otherwise, I would pass.
The girlie & I took this class on coptic stitching & we made our very own journals by cutting apart an old book & using its cover, pretty paper, & thick thread. After we picked out our book & glued the paper we chose to our covers...we made our paper signatures...
Kate found this wonderful poem in one of our books & tore it out to give to Angie, because she's a teacher...
I liked the contrast of this was otherwise too matchy matchy for me...but I adored this paper so much I couldn't say no...
Our finished journals...that was fun! I want to do more!!
When I got home I made this beautiful salad for Super Boo & myself from our farmers' market bounty...
Shortly after I moved to Madison, I found a shop downtown that sold this fun line of jewelry called, Designs from the Deep. All of the forms are cut out of thick copper & images are decoupaged on top, encrusted with rhinestones, & drenched in resin. The hearts are not my thing, but I was enamored with the images on this bracelet & kept walking down to this shop to visit it until I finally took it home with me.

  1. Whoa, that dress is gorgeous! I'm not usually into 70s-esque colors, but the print is just so amazing. It's too bad that such a pretty dress is made out of such crappy, uncomfortable material--I hate when that happens. *sigh*

    1. I know, right?! Thankfully, the material was just weird feeling, but was not uncomfortable to wear. Gwynnie Bee has started several of their own house brands of clothing & this is one of them. So far they haven't exactly got it right, but they are paying attention to the feedback to make them better in the future.

  2. The color/pattern on you is fantastic!!! Too bad the material is so cheap.

    1. Thank you! Hopefully GB will take all the feedback into consideration in the future with their house brands.
