This was the outfit I planned to wear to see The Sills for the 3rd time 2 weeks ago Saturday. I ended up keeping on the red ASOS dress I'd worn during the day instead. The lace & leopard print together may have been a bit much. The leopard pattern was lighter than I would have liked. But really, I'll be honest, it came down to me feeling like this dress was just too tight on me. Not too tight as in, it was uncomfortable. It wasn't. But too form fitting hugging all my curves this is what I look like naked kind of tight. So I didn't wear it. And that makes me feel sad. Or perhaps I really just didn't like the dress. I can't seem to separate the two. And *that* bothers me. So I'm putting it here for you to see. What do you think?
Angie & I went to this house to see The Sills. It was the *perfect* venue. The hostess was warm & welcoming (and a fellow marriage & family therapist who recognized me as someone who spoke to her class). It was like going to a friend's party. A really cool friend that is friends with a really cool band. We were offered hot apple cider (with or without rum), and there were homemade chocolate chip cookies & other things to nibble on. We had excellent comfortable stuffed living room chairs to sit on, out of the way, where we could listen to the band & people watch. Perfect. The only other band I've seen at someone's house was October Project about a decade ago with Kate. But we had to sit on metal folding chairs. Still in someone's living room, but not as nice. I think I need to seek out more people who host bands at their house.
Kate hated this necklace, & I *have* only worn it twice in all the years I've had it. But. The gun has a knife that swings out. I thought that was fun. Or something.

  1. My husband wants me to get this same dress( I wonder why...) I actually really like the front view of the dress, it shows off your curves nicely. The side view would make me feel self conscious, and you looked so great in the ASOS dress, why not rock it longer?
Bands in houses? Where do you find all this awesome stuff to do?

    1. I think this would be a sexy dress on the right body. Thanks for your feedback *smile*. I am fortunate to live in a city where there is always stuff going on & I need to wear these GB outfits somewhere! I'm actually quite a homebody, but I like to go out & do something fun once or twice a week, so I get the free downtown paper and look for interesting things to do.

  3. Random person via GB says: I was so excited when I saw that dress... it looked so awesome in the photos and I love all things leopard. But then it arrived and I really didn't feel like it did anything for me. I felt like people might indeed be stopping and staring but not out of awe at my sexiness. :P Kiyonna has a lot of winners but I feel like that dress isn't one of them.

  4. I love the dress. A couple of things...I think you would've like the fit more if you were wearing some kind of shape wear and a bra that makes the "girls" say "ooh la la".
A pair of sexy red heels would've brought the whole look together.
