I quite liked the colors & 2 different fabrics in this cotton dress...which would be lovely for summer. However, there was a LOT of dress, with the exception of up top...I wish the elastic bit would have been a tad longer...it was an empire waist, but barely covered my boobs & although it was adjustable with the enormous ribbons...I felt I took that as far as I dared. You know I don't shy away from a cutesy look...but those over-the-top bows combined with enough fabric to make a king size duvet cover made this a one & done for me. Ideal maxi length though...I could have worn heels or flats. I feel bad I didn't like this maxi more...I was the first person to wear it & that always feels special. Also, the majority of the reviews are good...so perhaps it's just me *shrug*.
It gave me the opportunity to wear these pretty heels for the first time...
I could have gone with a matte black flower necklace...but this one went with the colors in the middle fabric & was just more fun.
My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in Viper, Huda Beauty Coral Obsessions eyeshadow palette, Lime Crime eyeshadow from Lime Crime, Bang lipliner & lipstick by UD, Bite Beauty lipliner in 72, Sugarpill Cosmetics lipstick in Nectar, & Emily de Molly nail polish in The Dreams We Find.
I wore this dress to have my picture taken...then come home & finish dinner before leaving for a concert. This was my first time making Smitten Kitchen's Charred Salt & Vinegar Cabbage...I tweaked it a bit & it's my new go-to veg right now. I simply adore having a coat collection...vintage tapestry with fur collar I picked up at the last Midwest Vintage Flea.
Trying on clothes at the Stoughton Vinny's...I needed David's help tying & wrapping the shoulder ribbons around my bra...so I wasn't about to take it off. Tuba Skinny!
Pre-show lounge entertainment from Boo Mullarky...Brian & I used to enjoy hearing him play during farmers' market...but I remember a much younger man...I guess that was back when we were also young...I hope people that haven't seen me in a long time don't think...wow, she's gotten old...um...ok, go ahead & think it...but keep it to yourself. My usual front row selfies & what I found at Vinny's...a tweed skirt, ruffle front lace top, & a shirt for David.
I'd been looking forward to Tuba Skinny & they delivered...such a fun show...New Orleans Jazz/20s Big Band/& so much more...they made me want to dance.
