Quite a lovely true wrap maxi...lined...in gorgeous shades of purple mixed with brown, teal, & cream in a butterfly inspired pattern. The ideal changing of the seasons dress...this would be a fabulous choice in all but the coldest of months. Great maxi length on me, with or without heels. I sized down 1 size as it runs a bit big. Oh, sandal season...I miss you already.
I just learned that Mohop has *classes*...& one of them is making a purse similar to this one...I want to take it!!! If only I were younger...when driving back & forth to Chicago in the same day was no big deal. I mean, obviously I could spend the night...but that's not something I'd want to do alone.
My make-up with this outfit included...Urban Decay eyeliner in 1999; Alexandra, Catherine, & Kelly eyeshadow from Kat von D; Dirty Little Secret lipliner in Pale Pink; MAC lipliner in Grape; Spiced Plum lipstick by Bite Beauty; & OPI nail polish in Queen of West Web-erly.
I wore this dress 3 times. On the first day...I bought some John Dory from Burke & Benham & made their suggested recipe...Roasted John Dory with Tomatoes, Olives, & Herbs...sounds great, right?! It ended up being a lot of work & the flavor was good, but...we just don't really like white fish...it doesn't taste like anything.
Later that night...Suzanne Santo at Stoughton Opera House...this was my first show of the season.
She & her band were great...& she thought I smelled nice...though the guy behind me tried to take credit. I was wearing Angel by Thierry Mugler, which has been my signature scent since it came out in 1992. I usually switch to Ginger by Origins for the colder months.
I also briefly wore this dress to attend our Saturday group class & private lesson at Madison Ballroom Co.
In the group class, we learned The Tango...which is really hard...
During our private lesson, we worked on that, The Hustle, & added...Rumba...
A woman left a comment on our Jitterbug video, "Why are u embarssing urself" I guess we're not allowed to post anything that isn't absolutely perfect? I replied, "I'm having fun. It's too bad that you think I'm embarrassing myself by posting a video made the day we learned this dance. Go out & try something new. Be silly. It makes life worth living." Also, I preferred these Fluevogs with this outfit. I got myself the papaya dress I saw in the window in Traverse City...I'd been stalking it online & nabbed it when it went on sale. Urban Decay was having a 30% off sale...so I got some replacement eyeliners I was out of...or nearly. And added an eyeshadow for free shipping.
Wonderful show...& I recognized the bass player, Liz, from some of Charlie Parr's online quarantine performances. As much as I enjoy solo David Huckfelt...I really miss The Pines.
